Dated for 5 years, engaged for like 4 months. Went to pre-marriage counseling for 6 weeks. Married for 2 years now. Not always perfect, but definitely trying our best.
What wonderful advice. We've been married 23 years. I would have appreciated some good advice from my parents. I was so nervous. Such a huge decision made with what limited knowledge I had. At least I got some good advice at church.

My wife and I were engaged within a month and a half. Married in 11 months. If you know, you know. The shorter the engagement and "dating" the better. Less chance for temptation. Why waste time?

Totally agree with Davis because young people lack wisdom and they need guidance . If they are sick , will get them a doctor , if I want them to be successful , we have to show them the way and then let them fly

The "Greatest Generation" used to marry at 18, and most of those marriages lasted well beyond 50 years.
Judging by the comments then I guess I was out of line when I took my daughter's boyfriend to the basement and showed him my shooting trophies, gun safe, and ammo storage, and then asked him if we needed to talk about anything?
My dad did that when my (now husband) met him for the first time. Except, my husband is a super gun nerd and has his own gun/ammo collection, so it wasn't threatening.

She should absolutely not get married at 18-19 way to young. Minimum 22 should be the earliest u get married. I think that is still to young 24-25 would be a better age since u would have a real job for a couple of years. I personally don’t want to get married until about 30
I hope you don’t want kids if your bride is your age. As she approaches 30 she is considered high risk due to her age for complications & miscarriage. Also her fertility declines every year - and that goes double if she has possible reproductive issues from things like Endometriosis or PCOS.

How patronising. As a woman, daughter and a mother I decide what and when I deal with money and do not need ANY male to speak for me and my decisions.
If you are married then you should decide with 1 Man. If you aren't married, you should get married, because children fair far better with a Man and a Woman in the home.

The father has every right. Any decent parent has the right to look out for their childs well being all the way through adulthood. Quality parenting.

It's a dynamic situation. If the boyfriend can't hack it, or dumps the daughter as the easiest response, that's good to know!

The should both treat each other with kindness, even in hard times, and know how to communicate. That whole princess-talk is why men seak for normal, confident women out of their marriage with an immature "princess".
Over 50% marriage end in divorce in 5 years anyways best advice is get prenup so she get nothing in divorce and then we'll see how many wemen want marriage then but don't worry she stay longer enough to have 3 kids and big house and then divorce you and take half of your assets and half you income for child support for 18 years

Unfortunately this does happen a lot. The way you put state it sounds as though you are bitter about the subject. Use your best judgement and always use protection until you find the 'one'.
Actually most divorces happen for couples that do not attend church. Dave had a video about that.
