I owned an Ironman in 1986 used that watch for a decade or more! Was great in high-school for lap times on the track and timing bike rides. Ended up using it for working construction! Love the bike too❤. Thanks so much for doing this video!
My sister purchased me a Timex Iron Man watch in 1988 when I joined the Navy and it never let me down it’s a Great Watch and I’ve just ordered one off Amazon today
I had one of these when I was a kid in the '90s. Wore it every day for years. Loved it. I got back into watches a few years ago and recently picked this one up. Got another blue one with a Velcro strap on the way as we speak. These watches are the best!
same with me as a kid in the 80's....my only gripe is that the indigo now only lights up the digits not the whole screen like the original, just a nostalgia thing
Nice watch and even nicer bike. Owned the watch in the past and found it to be comfortable, reliable and hard wearing. Never owned one of those bikes though. I’ve got a Felt off roader and a Specialized Roubaix. They are are also comfortable, reliable and hard wearing. Thanks for the vid!
Really nice looking bike. I owned a three speed John Deere bicycle with a rear rack and fenders in my youth. I rode the heck out of that thing! Also, I own that same model Ironman watch and love it so much I purchased the white version on eBay and the black version from Amazon.
From UK and now 50 i originally purchased one of the original Triathlons while on holiday in Canada back when i was just 13 years old. I had this at the at a time where i was still at school so made plenty of use of it. I probably lost it after the batteries run out like all my other digital watches in those days, but i never forgot this one as it was totally different to other watches of that era, at least in the UK at that time. It was so liked by everyone at school that within the next 6 months other kids were showing me their purchases with excitement. I remember the day my mum purchased it and it was around 5 to 10 dollars more than the Blue or Red versions, mine being the Yellow version which at the time looked the best and the only one not available to the UK market at the time so i still felt like i had the daddy version that no one else could get. I am about to purchase another one right now as the nostalgia and memories are getting too difficult to wade off lately, this is my sign of go ahead you will be happy you did. Nice Video..
I have had 2 of these. The first got lost and I was gutted so bought another one. Fantastic display and so easy to operate on the go. best digital sport watch I have ever had. By the way once the one I am currently wearing (as I write this) gets lost, bust etc, I will buy another.
I have been wearing a G-Shock square for a while... but I picked one of these up for super cheap and I am completely smitten. Smitten enough to look up reviews on a product I already own 😅
I picked up a Timex Ironman for really cheap when I needed to replace my Armitron Chrono Pro when the watch strap disintegrated and I did not want to wear my steel G-Shock while doing physical activity. Absolutely love it. Intuitive setup, awesome simple features. A home run from Timex.
Love your bike! Just got a Timex Ironman. It's durable and will last many years. I can't justify spending 3 to 4 times as much on a smart watch that has a potential lifespan of only 3 to 5 years and is redundant to my iPhone.
A very good review and a very good point about the screen visibility. I have 2 G-Shocks (Mudman and the Square) and recently I bought "just because I was curious" a Times Ironman. First, the price: 43 Euro for the Ironman. The Mudman is 380 Euro and The Square (5610) is 120 (around) Euro. From the visibility point of view - and from the information presentation point of view (and the possibility to show MM/DD or DD/MM), my favorite by far is The Ironman; second is the G-Shock Square and the third (I am massively disappointed) is The Mudman. From the bracelet point of view: Ironman plastic bracelet feels the best (but it is more difficult to take it off compared to the other 2), then the Square and... Yeah, quite rigid bracelet for the Mudman: good looking bracelet, but kind of not so easy to set it on hand because the bracelet is rigid. The result of "I like the G-Shock" (that was before I tried the Ironman), "let's try a more competent G-Shock" (hence the Mudman), Ironman is what I like: simple but with enough basic functionality and more, of course that there are better options for a lot more money: the smartwatches. I am so disappointed by the very-oooh-aaaah everyone's reviews about the Mudman (point to myself: I have been fooled again, I don't know how many times now, by the very positive reviews on youtube about things I didn't know). For myself, a combination of Ironman + a "decent" smartwatch (positive reviews everywhere and I kind of think that most of them are just for the commissions) would be the best approach; the second approach would be the Square + a smartwatch (note: the radio reception is not worth the extra cost; the difference in price between the solar charging and battery is your choice, after 2 years with solar charging I would say that Ironman or the Square with a battery is just as good as the one with the solar charging even if I like the solar charging). The Mudman... If you are not a collector or a "this is the best, I have to have it" kind of person/Casio fan, save yourself a lot of money and ignore it. A smartwatch has better functionality, the price will be also a disadvantage as well for the Mudman (even smartwatches are cheaper than the Mudman). I can't set the date in the format DD/MM, I don't like how the Mudman is presenting the basic time information. Signed: the fool who trusted internet/youtube reviews, dreamed about the Mudman and then lived the day to live the dream. And it was a revelation and it is not a dream any more: I would choose any day the Ironman or the Square + a smartwatch for "measurements" that don't involve the basic time presentations. Ironman is now my first choice in the world of "I don't want to look every few minutes to my smartphone to see what time it is". I will have to consider if I will return the Mudman: it has bad readability, it is somewhere between the Square and and inverted LCD. It is BAD.
I love my Ironman's but that particular may be the best one, Shock resistant, 200m water resistant and that throwback look is fantastic. and oh your bike is nice LOL
They fixed all the mistakes of the past: acrylic glass and a bad strap. I had an Ironman in the 90's and used it for years. I'll be happy to come back to it.
Как по мне,у Casio одна модель часов которая более менее нормально смотрится на руке, это 5600.А остальные просто убогие,напичканы всякой хернёй которая нагружает дисплей🙂 Timex ironman 👍👍👍
Just changed one from an ancient one given to me. Easy peasy. I have many nice mechanical watches, but this will be a perfect “beater” when working on small engines, carpentry or gardening that tends to beat up watches. I like the G-shocks too, but their large size is actually a hinderance when using it for these tasks.

Thanks so much for doing this video!
That’s awesome! And my pleasure, it was fun making this one, the bike was a nice change ;-) Thank you for the suggestion!
@@degriff I appreciate the effort you took :)
I owned an Ironman Triathlon in 1986 too...........wearing it now :)

The Velcro strap variant is awesome :-) Yes - so much nostalgia with this watch! 😄
Same, and when the Indiglo dropped, I just had to have one.

I love Timex and Casio and you can't go wrong with either brand 👍🏻

😂👍 No worries - this is a safe space! 😁😄
Don’t worry dude.. we all do that 😂

These are nearly indestructible 🤠 Congrats! And thank you for the compliment 😇😊☺️
T5K195.... Excellent review. Thanks for making this.
Much appreciated, thanks a lot for watching and the kind feedback!

Thanks for sharing your (detailed) insights!
Excellent post, I’m a fool just like you lol
Never owned one, tend to grab G-Shocks myself, love the bike! :-)
Muchas gracias! :-D

Good information. I liked 👍 your bike
Just ordered one. 😄
Timex Ironman pretty watch
Beautiful bike 😊
😇😊☺️ thank you!
Love the Ironman but I wish Timex would make one in the over 50mm case size category.
Timex Ironman Shock
TW4B24000
I believe that is the expedition not the Ironman, right?
Yeah I hate how tiny timex watches are. 😅
I own the same watch and wonder why the PM indicator in the video shows a quarter-moon shape instead of the letter P, which my watch displays
There is only one alarm. But does it have a 5min snooze?
It actually has 3 alarms
They need to upgrade this dinosaur, make a bigger case diameter and a softer band
Too bad the dial won't stay lit, not great if you're working an accident at night and need to time pulse or pressure on a wound,
Looks so freaking tiny. 😮
More like NOT a G-Shock and NOT a Garmin 😅😂
Chuck Norris watch

battery dies in two years gshock or casio last 10 years for battery
Incorrect have one that's 8 years old same battery
Batteries are like 5 bucks and you can change them in 10 minutes though

To me G-Shocks are ugly as hell and only for the tactical/military larpers. These Ironman watches are very very durable as is.
I’m not a “tactical/military larper” and I wear G shock.. so guess I (and millions of other people) have fallen through the gaps in your theory
Wouldn't that make you a "ironman" larper?
It’s pronounced eye-on man. Silent r.
