The drum kit coincided with Vixen’s Rev It Up album theme and was used exclusively for the Rev It Up album promotional tour. BTW Fans of Vixen are called Foxheads since a Vixen is a Fox.
What I liked about Vixen is that they had no gimmicks. A lot of female artists just run around half-naked and dry hump stuff. Vixen never had to do that, because they had actual talent.
Yes, I cried when I heard she died. It crushed my heart. I was on the road when they said on the radio. I pulled my rig into a truck stop and got out my Vixen CDs and that's all I listened to for about a week.
I was an 80s girl we were wild infact we girls knew exactly what we wanted and knew how to get it the lbd( little black dress) thigh length boots and leather jacket we rocked it.. Bring back the 80s mentality as 2020s sucks ballz
I was and still a late 80s /90s guy , loved that look , I miss all this , wish I had a time machine. . Australia was the same as America we loved metal and these lady's .
We were wild Saturday night at the rock club where we women were sassy and took no crap and men and women competed for the eyeliner and we all had the biker mentality. Im 50 and still wear the fashion to some extent. Biker jacket with the denim cut off. This was the best decade. No politics no party pooping we even took the parties to the beaches at midnight. We had swag. ❤️💋🤘
Incredible this is real 80's music . In reality i wasn't a listener for sure at that time . 1'43"-44" Yeees Traviisss ! More Cowbell!!!! Ahah! It's a great song , i personally agree 100% with Travis when he says that it is catchy and it takes a short time to remind the refrains . It's crazy because the feelings of the song and the melodies remind me so many artists and soundtracks like the great Cyndy Lauper , Madonna , Roxette , Tina Turner ; Dirty Dance , Top Gun , Karate Kid , Back to the Future ! That period was "so a legend" that even I wasn't listen at that time (at least a decade later ; at the beginning) i always reminds the armonies and the magic feels from Legendary Tv series , Movies , Music Videos that the incredible success , obtained by them , have permitted to show on and on . 5'14" - 5'30" Ladies and Gentleman on those strings there are vibrations yet . The feeling and the sound of this guitar solo is from another Planet . Mesmerizing video Trav and Suzi 3'15"-3'25" This Part from Suzi is marvellous 4'45"-5'05" What a Fricking spectacular moment . You are amazing
Jan, the original guitarist was awesome, one of the best female guitarists on the scene back in the 80s. These days, Vixen is still a great live band, playing with phenomenal (and much younger) guitarist Britt Lightning.
Did you notice Jan K,s always got a fox tail on her gituar, ( a female Fox is a Vixen ) and today 2024 Brit Lightning has the same fox tail on her gituar, nice credit to Jan K.
I still feel bad when I think about Jan, the Lead Guitar Player who died of cancer many years ago! She was extremely talented and Absolutely Gorgeous! Vixen is still going strong and reported to be releasing an album later this year!
Vixen was the original female metal band, there was The Runaways but I didn't consider them metal. They had a nice slick production and they were great musicans and had good songs, and they were all gorgeous, what could be better 🔥 awesome channel guys, that next song was their big hit you have to listen to it 🤘
also Phantom Blue was an unfortunately short-lived metal band that kicked ass. Precious Metal, Girlschool, Vixen, the Donnas-it was so hard and unfair that women weren't taken seriously.
Oh, Janet...😍 I had a gigantic crush on lead vocalist Janet Gardner back in the day...before you two were born, probably. 😉 And I can definitely hear echoes of Vixen in Lovebites' "Dancing With The Devil".
Awesome. Vixen rules, they have so many great songs. Vixen is still going strong...with different lead singer now. The singer on this song Janet Gardner has a great solo career and has released 3 albums between 2017-2020, all great albums. Vixen will also release a new album hopefully this year. Vixen latest release is with Janet Gardner from 2018, it's a live album called "Live Fire", it is great.
The Old German Joke :) : Vixen (Foxes) sounds exactly like the German Word "Wichsen" which means "Masturbating"....so when the Girls of Vixen toured in Germany and they mentioned their Band Name,EVERYBODY laughed at them....and they didnt know why.....untill somebody told them.....since that point,it was a running Gag at every Live Gig they played in Germany : "Show us how happy you are to see us!".....and you can imagine how the Audience reacted here :) :) :) ....true Story !
Love Vixen. My favorite song by them is Love Is A Killer. Absolutely fantastic band. Anecdote alarm: The band name sounds like the German word for "jerking off" and when I was in my teens some girl in school asked me what I was listening to on my Walkman. Naive as I was I've replied with the band's name and that started quite a few rumours about me... BTW. Love Is A Killer has absolutely beautiful, poetic lyrics and possibly the best vocals Janet Gardner has ever delivered. I mean, how great an image is "I've got a target on my back for a Cupid dressed in black"?
Yes thats the usual reaction to VIXEN , they just rocked , and could play , people who went to their concerts forgot they were listening to a gitl band , because they just rocked , and they sounded this good live too , if not better , look up Daytona Beach Vixen 1989 ! The songs spund better live !
It was a great time to be "in the band." I was in a garage band in a small college town while we attended school, and it was a blast. Most of the cliché stories are true: we DID buy Aquanet Extra Super Hold aerosol cans by the case. LOL Thanks for reacting to some of these tunes from the 80s.
@Suzie, about your comment on Vixen's name, right around the same time that Vixen hit it big there was a band called Femme Fatale and you'd think it was an all female group just from the name. Nope. There was only one female, the lead singer.
That entire album is awesome, it's almost a continuation of the previous one. For instance, from the self-titled album there is a song called Charmed Life, and it has a flip-side song called Streets In Paradise on the album Rev It Up. And Rev It Up has an AWESOME ballad that always makes me tar up, Love Is A Killer.
I miss when women had big hair like a lions mane, now they have flat hair parted in the middle that looks like a pair of curtains. Also Vixen did and does ROCK, talented ladies with good songs!
Now you also have to check out Why call it love by Phantom Blue. And yes, the 80´s was very special. In a good way. Jan the guitarist is no longer with us.
We 80s women didn't get hung up on wolf calls and being seen as sexy kittens we loved it. Women of today are so hung up on how their percived Cmon ladies of today enjoy life you don't get another chance to have fun. I've never married or grown up (it's a con) I'm having too much fun laughing at how boring you are. Vixen were the epitome of what woman are. Talented beautiful without comprising their intelligence. So while your screaming unfair I'm screaming neithers my hair. I'm a rock chick from the 80s best decade best fashion era to express who you are as their were rock chicks,, biker chicks, warrior chicks (after 7 bottles of Newcastle ale that was me in chippy Lane Cardiff when guys got handsy lol) you had the chic rock chicks and hippy Rock chicks, goth rock then you had the dudes that from the back looked like chicks (awkward!!!! ) 🤣😭🤣😭🤣😭🤣
During one period of their career, Vixen tried to fill the vocalist spot with a man but it did not work. The arrangement was awesome and please check out the VH1 special: Vixen - bands reunited. This was several years before guitarist Jan had died from a long battle with cancer.
RIP Jan Kuehnemund. You are forever in our heart, we love you precious and talented woman 🎸💔
😢💔
The drum kit coincided with Vixen’s Rev It Up album theme and was used exclusively for the Rev It Up album promotional tour. BTW Fans of Vixen are called Foxheads since a Vixen is a Fox.
Every member of this band was top shelf. Great performances all around.
What I liked about Vixen is that they had no gimmicks.
A lot of female artists just run around half-naked and dry hump stuff.
Vixen never had to do that, because they had actual talent.
Okay mad props to these guys for taking a look at one of Vixens best songs.
This song sounds better live, you can find it, also, LOVE IS A KILLER, ONE OF THERE BEST SONGS
“Love is a killer”. Nuff said.
That is 100% my favorite song they ever did. :)
the guitarist already passed on a few years ago....RIP JAN
R.I.P. sweet, sweet Jan, I love you... 😍😍😍❤❤❤ nice reaction guys, greetings from Italy!!! 😉
Yes, I cried when I heard she died. It crushed my heart. I was on the road when they said on the radio. I pulled my rig into a truck stop and got out my Vixen CDs and that's all I listened to for about a week.
yep , late 80's early 90's , hairspray , lipstick, eyeliner, spandex and that was just the (men ) \m/
Jan, Janet, Share, and Roxy? Auto-like! Underrated band, honestly. IMO, Edge of a Broken Heart is better, but I love this one.
Vixen was one of those bands that sounded great but even better live
Long live the 80’s!!!!!’
Oh my god, as always watching this , wow !
One of my favorite bands in the eighties when I was in my twenties. That era was bad ass.
Trust me, the 80’s ruled! Best decade ever! For another female singer, try Femme Fatale, Waiting for the Big One and Falling in and Out of Love.
I was an 80s girl we were wild infact we girls knew exactly what we wanted and knew how to get it the lbd( little black dress) thigh length boots and leather jacket we rocked it.. Bring back the 80s mentality as 2020s sucks ballz

This song is still a gem after all these years. You should check out Janet Gardner's new solo stuff. It's really good!

I got a chance to do sound for them once back in '91 and they are as good as what you hear on their CD, awesome girls, and what memories...
Oh yeah. Vixen were one of the best female rock bands out of the late 80s
Did you notice Jan K,s always got a fox tail on her gituar, ( a female Fox is a Vixen ) and today 2024 Brit Lightning has the same fox tail on her gituar, nice credit to Jan K.

The high-note at the end that she hits always kills me.

Girlschool?
also Phantom Blue was an unfortunately short-lived metal band that kicked ass. Precious Metal, Girlschool, Vixen, the Donnas-it was so hard and unfair that women weren't taken seriously.
Got to see them summer of 1989 at Compton Terrace in Tempe Arizona opening for White Lion And Ozzy Osbourne!!!
I have seen them only once at Amagasaki archaic hall,Hyogo prefecture,Japan in March,1989.
Oh, Janet...😍 I had a gigantic crush on lead vocalist Janet Gardner back in the day...before you two were born, probably. 😉

Zu geil...🤣
Good old times im Tor 3. 😁
I was there when they played in Düsseldorf. The chants has been, let's say....interesting. 😂
I will never forget the guy's face in "Saturn Hansa's" CD department when my girlfriend asked him: "Hallo, kennen Sie Vixen?"
I thought that Harley Drum kit was so bad ass as a drummer growing up in the 80's
Happy New Year guys!!!
Love Vixen. My favorite song by them is Love Is A Killer. Absolutely fantastic band. How is Suzy rated on this rating
During one period of their career, Vixen tried to fill the vocalist spot with a man but it did not work. The arrangement was awesome and please check out the VH1 special: Vixen - bands reunited. This was several years before guitarist Jan had died from a long battle with cancer.
