  • What diagnostic scanners work on the Pre LP and LP Lamborghini Gallardo? What scanners will connect to and read the E gear L140 transmission control unit (TCU)? What scanners can you use to clear codes on the ECU, TCU and other control modules for the 2004-2008 Lamborghini Gallardo, and what's the difference with the Lamborghini Gallardo from 2009-2014?
    Pre LP Lamborghini Gallardo Scanners
Generic OBD II Bluetooth/ WIFI: amzn.to/3NLvgz8
Works with Torque Lite App For Android/ Car Scanner ELM OBD2 for iOS
Can only scan engine control unit
    Cant scan any other module
    VAGCOM VCDS
Maybe use Generic OBDII mode to scan ECU only
Repin connector to scan RNS-E radio
TEXA Nano S with TEXA Supercar
OEM functionality of LaRA 6.0 at a lower cost
Can scan all modules, perform adaptations, TCU clutch calibration, clutch wear index and clutch kiss point.
LEONARDO Diagnostic Tool With Lamborghini Software
    Very Expensive like LaRA 6.0
Can scan all modules, perform adaptations, TCU clutch calibration, clutch wear index and clutch kiss point.
    Lamborghini LaRA 6.0
Buy it from closed dealers on eBay. Need special interface and cables for each individual car depending on if you working on a Murcielago, pre lp post lp, etc.
    Very expensive.

Ebay Kit, No Support. Might not work. Pirated
    OBDELEVEN
Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Could have same functionality as VCDS but is a newer offering to the market and will need to find a LP owner to try it.

Inacio, I see that on their website. Looks like it works on the mk1 from 2010 and up. Can you perform adaptations on the control modules?
I have a similar system called OBDeleven that is subscription-based like Carista in a way. My main problem with OBDeleven or other pay-to-play systems is that when I was in the middle of the desert with my VW Touareg towing my B5 S4, my car broke down and I NEEDED it but I couldn't use it because the app didn't have a cellular connection. That's a big no go in my book and why I can't recommend it anymore.

Great info. Will you be showing us the clutch adaptation at some point? Do you need to do that each time you split the engine and gearbox apart or is it not that critical for that job?

    • @TheBullRider
      @TheBullRider  2 года назад +1

Dalamar, you brought up an excellent question! I'm going to say no you don't because the adaptation parameters that are stored in the transmission control unit are exactly the same no matter how many times you split the engine and gearbox. If you use the same old clutch as I did with 60% left, then the TCU still knows where the point of initial slip is for that clutch in its service life.
When I put my transmission back in, I didn't even have to bleed the clutch slave cylinder because of a special check valve on the slave cylinder hydraulic line.
I will be showing you clutch adaptation on the Pre LP, a bit on the fence about buying Texa but I will let you know when I do.
If I can get my hands on a LP or a R8, I will show it to you with VCDS AND Texa!

I love the videos as always! Keep them coming! Question, the original owner of my SL bought it from Lambo Paramus NJ. It was then taken to Canada. So its a USA spec SL with MPH on the speedo. Cliff, I tried to find this out for you by digging in the D3 A8 forums that share the same climatronic unit but I came up with nothing. We used to be able to do this on old audis by clicking the recirculation button and the + button but it didn't work. I bet you Texa could do it and VCDS. The problem with VCDS is I bet we could figure out a way to connect it to the dash but finding the access parameters to make changes would be the hard part. When I buy Texa, we can switch it next time I'm in SoCal. Then you will owe me a beer!

If I recall correctly he liked the MT but thought the e-gear suited the character of the car better, being nearly violent with the shifts. Its not because of that painstaking PITA on the paddles at all! To me and to seen through glass, the E gear complements these cars so well. I love how shifting up from second to third upsets the cars around a turn because it actually decouples the transmission from the engine. Its a raging bull man and what you expect.
Everyone complains about the e gear in the Gallardo and Aventador but honestly, its what gives these cars so much character and soul. Huracan is boring. I want whiplash.
