Good vid and it would be nice to see you work though the project. With regard to the where the shower entrance will be surely you want it to be on the other side? As the way you suggested the sink will be in the way when you want to enter the shower? I'm going to do up my bathroom and the toilet waste pipe needs to be lowered by about an inch. Any ideas of how to drill out the hole so I move the pipe down? Thanks

Good to see you've got the job James! It's an interesting issue with the waste. I'd pump it out and conceal the pump in a false wall or built in furniture/vanity unit next to the shower.
Yes I would love to see a series, yes I can see others being done on you tube, but you don't allways get the reason why something should be done a particular way, if not told I would be making all those mistakes myself, great channel keep it coming

Depending on how far back you need to go, what pipe it is? I usually dig down and use 2 45s to get snug to wall

I can’t believe this bathroom is identical to mine I’m doing now! I have bought a pedestal shower tray but can I put the waste buried in the floor and do a shallow tray? I’m lucky all my waste is directly outside the window. I’ve chased out the wall for the new radiator and am

Doing mine at the moment redoing the floor and trying to get the pipe work under the floor using a Mira in-flight tray just waiting to see the new titan digital shower, Coldwater feed when it comes out this month waiting to see a video on it as I’ve had solar panels fitted on the roof, trying not to burn gas from my Combi Boiler, but if that doesn’t work out I will be putting the wall mounted from the Combi
I think In this instance I’d build a sms plinth to put the tray on, Ik you’re not keen on them but I always ask the client if they want there ground dug up or a plinth built cheaper and they always go for the plinth!

I'm not a huge fan of macerators either, but a Saniflo "Sanifloor" would save you a huge amount of work in this application. It uses a smart-waste to turn the above ground pump on, so you're not reliant on any fall. The customer wants a vanity unit, so there's your chance to hide it!

Put a shallow 90mm shower trap on the tray the ones with built in none return valves. Should help with the fall 👍🏻

Howdo squire. I'm sure you're a seasoned pro but careful cutting and channelling into that ground floor slab. 150mm deep slab your safe, if it's screed from the 1980's may only be 50-75mm deep before you're cutting through the damp proof membrane which can cause a whole host of damp penetration issues. Luckily theres plenty of waterproof products out there to maintain the waterproof continuity of the existing dpm.

There is nothing wrong with a step up to the shower and it wouldn't bother most people. Stepless showers are in the minority unless it's a wet room. It adds to the cost of the installation. Also if you take the shower waste oυtside won't it freeze in the winter?
