I think the only thing that could get me to ride something other than my current Buell is another Buell. Looking forward to when the common folks will be able to get ahold of one.
As a faithful follower of Eric Buell. Though he is not with this 2.0 version of Buell much of his engineering genius still is . That being said I certainly wish them great success in this endeavor. I owned and rode eleven Buell motorcycles from the S2 to the 1125 RR. Loved them all.
@tom serbaducci eleven Buells daily riders, touring and track days for over 30 years. Also met and spoke with Mr. Buell several times. Maybe that doesnt qualify as fairhful to some.
I hope the production bike is close the this prototype in specifications . Buell still have a lot of work to do to get this bike to market they have very few dealers and this bike needs to be street legal in terms of lights and emissions before they can sell them. I hope they can get this bike to market and it is a success it would be nice to have Buell back in production producing bikes that Harley cannot.
I love it but sadly mid 20's as Bill eluded to is way above what I think most will be willing to fork out. Should have made a base version just under 20k and the one presented here with the flash components as the "premium" sports model.
I have been dreaming of building an fxr for years and as soon as harley came out with the revolution max I knew something like this wouldn't be far behind. The thing looks like exactly what I dreamt to build! I wanna go fast but a chubby bearded guy doesn't look good on a crotch rocket! I'm sold!!!
I'm a cruiser rider, and I would be interested in having one of these. I do wish the rear fender struts were more like the ones regular FXR frame, so people could more easily add sissy bars, as well as having more secure mounting points for turn signals. They made the triple trees, to fit standard Harley riser width. I also wish that the rear cylinder would not be hidden.
Last year, I stopped by the Buell tent because I was looking at possibly purchasing a “second bike” alongside of my full dresser. I was impressed by what I saw. I hope they continue to grow and can get a bigger “break into” the overall market. That bike might do it. If that would have been available last year, they might have sold me a bike.
Thanks for posting the review. This is most certainly an attractive offering, sheer power for that size/price... but that mid 20's sticker price is high. Given where the economy is headed especially 2025 time this will be a tough one for most people. I am sure it will sell in thousands and there are some serious folks but clearly not for many. Its literally more expensive than a decent sized car. I like the naked simplicity of it yet sporty at the same time, but may wait this one out for a few years.

I heard "plug n play" several times... I recognize that expression for describing Jacuzzis that don't require any special wiring? You can plug it into any 110v outlet and you're good to go? The main drawback is, the 110v is either heating the water? Or working the jets? Never does both at the same time! So, naturally I associate that expression "plug n play," with cheaper & low-quality. In all fairness, I would never use that expression while talking about a Buell.
I'm about two clicks away from pre-ordering but... why is the reservoir directly next to the heat source? why not outside of the frame or just.. away from the engine? I actually want to know because I fully intend on ordering one of these bikes. Awesome job. Awesome bike. Take my money. That said, I worked in a harley shop in my early years and my first real bike was an x1 lightning. I've always rooted for ebr and he is without question onto something awesome with this bike. It was a mistake for Harley to get rid of Buell. But for Eric Buell himself, if he really wants to build a performance oriented motorcycle getting away from Harley Davidson motor platforms is the best thing that could have happened to him. Harley makes a great cruiser. But if you want to build a Performance bike that can run with the Big 4 japanese motorcycles or even a Triumph using a Harley engine platform is like shooting yourself in the foot and putting an extra 150lbs on your shoulders.
