Keep it up Weber! There will be those who will argue the style, but cooking like this 2-3 times a year didn’t hurt my 90yr old grandpa 😎
You make something as simple as grilling a chicken funny and fun! Thank you!
Question ... actually two questions. I didn't notice if the grill lid was on .. is this necessary to make beer can chicken? And ... can I do this with my Weber Smokey Joe 14" grill?
Very nice, Mike. Thanks for the reminders and some great takes on whole chicken.
What heat setting should you use for your gas grill and cool for the hour and change?
Yeah major and surprising weak spot in this video
Surprised he didn’t use the Weber beer can chicken holder they make to demonstrate this recipe
Thankyou for info and being beer drinkin man 🍻
Should the evaporating paint be of a concern?
I’ve wondered about that too. Or the lining of the can as the beer boils
Do open the beer or does it pop open with heat
The weber grills tend to not have a lot of height to them.....does the lid close without hitting the top?
Yes, it does close without hitting the top!
Did you put the top on?
15 minutes to grill potatoes? That seems.. way too short.
Maybe parboil first, then crisp them up on the grill? Yes 15 min seems short.
FRED WILEY They look raw. I think it was a mistake.
I've found sodas evaporated too fast, idk if that's why used beer? But works, don't taste difference anyway lol
How does the cover fit over the chicken?
We suggest a smaller bird to fit below the lid.
Is the lid on the Weber Q tall enough for this?
Hi! Unfortunately, the Q lid is not tall enough for a beer can chicken.
I am still trying to figure out my Webber gas grill, anyone have an idea on temp for chicken
Did you figure it out?
Do you empty any of the beer at all, or just pop the tab and leave it full?
Yes! Pour a little out (for yourself)! Let us know if you have any other questions!
I pour half of it out and put onions and seasonings in it aswell
I didn't use a pan underneath the beer can chicken and placed directly on the grill. The chicken caught on fire....what did I do incorrectly? I even used the Weber Poultry Roaster.
I think maybe what you did incorrectly was not using a pan underneath the chicken.
@@choddo LOL
Grab that hot can of beer and drink it 😂 I forget sometimes about tenting the top nice tip
U forgot to plug the neck hole with a potato or onion. The fluid in the can just goes straight out the top
Looks good but I didn't see the finished product
Maybe let it rest for 15 to 30 minutes before carving. Use a ceramic chicken holder instead of the can. My chicken holder allows 12 Oz. Of beer.
what does the beer can do to the chicken?
As the beer heats up, it provides moisture and flavor! Mmmm. :)
@@GrillwithWeber I'm gonna try it.
Let us know how it turns out! Happy grilling :)

You forgot the absolute best poultry seasoning ever made--Weber Beer Can Chicken Seasoning.
I dont believe I’ve had seasoning by Weber I didnt like yet. Chicken Chicken and their roasted garlic seasoning is incredible
For family
What! Not showing the Weber Chicken Roaster from the Gourmet system?! Sheesh
Gamma Bomb IPA from Warped Wing in Dayton Ohio.
Jesus! I thought Vin Diesel was making beer chicken
Only clicked because I thought that was Toretto 😂
Personally I would recommend NOT using a beer can, instead empty it in to a purpose made stainless steel beer can roaster stand. Heating aluminium will release more chemicals (although its yet to be proven to be dangerous - however aluminium is linked to Alzheimer's) , however I wouldn't risk it. Storing preserving and distributing in aluminium cans I'm sure would be fine, but heating them to these temperatures for prolonged periods then consuming it, I doubt will be good for you.
Aluminum can contains water = beer and liquid temperature can raise only up to 100 Celsius.. so I don’t think that under that temperature some dangerous chemicals could be released.. IMO
I don’t open the can so it explodes into toxic shards of aluminium all thru the chicken - tastes so good tho!!
Auhhhh… This can be argued 😅. I will not start on almost everything you consume that is dangerous for you, and what else has aluminum in it.
To each is own.
Isn’t there a plastic lining in your beer can? Ugh
Why not use the smokefire? Oh yeah it sucks
Don’t sit the chicken directly on a can. Seriously, don’t! Why? Chemicals in the can, inks, etc. You don’t want to eat that.
Gotta baste it with melted garlic butter mixed with soy sauce
