For those in europe, a can of Faxe might be even more stable (and you be glad not to actually drink that stuff). Only getting the bird on that can could be a bit of a stretch...
Kent has so much decency and respect that he'll take his own hat off to keep a friend dry in the rain, even if that friend is a dead chicken with a can of beer stuffed inside it.
I always love the sound effects whenever Kent has to go rummaging for something off screen--especially the cat yowling, lol. The recipe looks really yummy too!
I tried this yesterday, and it was by far the best chicken I have ever made. Moist, tender, and just the the right about of spicey flavor. I did add a few strips of bacon to it as well, which was delicious. Hats off to Mr. Kent for this recipe!
Been watching this channel for months, always cool to see someone out in the country teaching true cooking! Alaskan grown myself! Keep up the good work! Salute from Mexico
We been doing those for years. I season the inside also and put an onion chunk in the neck and pin the skin rotate every 30 min . I use the holders and put it in a piepan with some beer. Cheers Kent
Honestly I’m watching the 3rd season of Barbecued on Netflix and you’re on it so cool! I’m a grill man myself and appreciate the time you put in your videos Kent!
Beer can chicken I’ve been cooking them for years.I put apple juice in with hot sauce in can . Delicious thank you for reminding me I need to cook one soon
My dad make beer can chicken with a paps blue ribbon a galic salt chili powder a a Weber grill branded chicken rub mixes it gets a giant needle and injects the chicken with it and it is the BOMB!!!
I have tons of Sand Plums in my west pasture, they worked well. My alfalfa and brome has enjoyed the rain my Hesston 310 is ready to go to work. My wife loved this recipe of course I enjoyed the rest of the beer.
I have a stainless steel chicken roaster that has a tray, support (no tipping over, no matter hiw drunk the chicken gets!) and a can with a perforated screw on top to put the beer, wine, juice, whiskey, or whatever in. No plastic liner inside, or paint on the outside of the can to worry about getting into the bird.
One of my favorite summer recipes, my mom taught me a nice spin on the recipe: you take a tall boy of beer, empty half of it into a cup (to drink of course) then replace the missing volume with ginger ale or lemonade.
My Goodness Kent... Another superior grilling video with the added value of simple instruction combined with purpose. I greatly appreciate your Salute to the Service Members and your Nations Pride. Be well and God Bless.
First time I heard this accent was when I joined the US Army. 15 years after ETSing, I still miss it. 🥲 It always meant good news regardless of the miserable situation we were in. Someone with that accent always saved the day. Weird but true.
I picked up a mini fridge at a yard sale. I grabbed a small desktop fan at Wally World. I dry my chicken off with paper towels then place it in the fridge with the fan inside blowing on it. I air dry it for a few hours before grilling. Great crisp skin.
Kent, I've been following your videos and style for years and confessed to you that you are making me a hero in the Kitchen and on the grille. But this Beer Can Chicken recipe has put me over the top. I did substitute here and there. I used apple butter jelly mixed in with the glaze. It came out a masterpiece. I bought the chicken can holder on Amazon. You Sir, are the king of the Pit.
Hi Kent! Great video. You have a wonderful crew helping with your productions! Give 'em an extra pat for us. Great recipe! I always use 1 part mesquite to 4 parts hickory and/or applewood, otherwise the mesquite overwhelms the other flavors. Love your Texas country cooking (I'm in TX).
Kent I love all of your videos they all remind me of growing up in Ok. I am trying to keep up but I had a recent fall and damaged my eye. Right now I am hearing you and seeing little. Every thing you say about what you are cooking has my mouth watering!
Hey Kent, we saw you last night at the Huckabee Show taping. It was nice to see you, wish they spent time talking with you during the show. Hoping to come to one of your book signings soon, God bless you brother!
God bless you, Mr. Rollins. You make these look so easy and following the recipes does make it easy. The hardest part for me was getting my cast iron frying pan seasoned but now I refuse to make scrambled eggs without it. Every. Morning. I love scrambled eggs. Going to have to try making this beer can chicken soon.
I used to make this fairly often quite a few years ago. I always understood the beer is just supposed to add more moisture to the inside of the chicken. I never would have thought to flavor the beer. You the man.
I bought the ceramic stands now that you just pour the beer in they work great... before I found them I used to use a Foster's lager can the big ol round can it makes a sturdy base and your chicken won't tip over
Definitely a great recipe. Love them beer can chickens. Thanks for sharing with us Kent . Shannon, you’re doing a great job with everything around there. We can tell Kent keeps you busy 🤣. You all have a great weekend. Fred. 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👋👋
Learned this one from an Australian chap originally, that's great you're using eucalyptus and giving it the cowboy twist as well. Keep up the good work!
That is some amazing food chemistry going on. The alcohol with the seasonings, oil based, going through the meat and cant get out with the glaze seal on the skin. This is better eating than for kings of the 16th century. Nice attention to details and still kept simple. I have to watch this one a few times to never forget it. Thanks Kent.
I always enjoy your videos. Your recipes always look yummy, and your sense of humor is like a breath of fresh air. Thanks for sharing, God bless, and happy 4th.

Looks delicious! I bet I would have friends if I cooked this in my yard. Amazing. I didn't realize how long ago Chopped was but I haven't watched TV in over 5 years. So glad you're on You Tube.
Looks amazing as always Kent. I’ve cooked quite a few whole chickens in my day and over the years I’ve found that drunk chickens are just a waste of good beer lol. The chicken doesn’t really hold the moisture from the been in. It has a neck hole. I lay mine on their backs and stuff the cavity with practically anything good that contains moisture. A chunk of apple or Vidalia onion or Cajun rice dressing for example. Just something about filling that cavity that makes them cook really good.
My Choofi (uncle) made this when i was a kid lol asked me to grab a piece, went for the wing, and the bone slid right out of the chicken X,D this still one of the best Cookout/BBQ dishes
I am jealous of that bird actually, The ones I get here lately either look like just hatched three days ago, or it seems to be half meat and half fat, but not the tasty stuff. actually the stuff most times tastes really tallowy and nasty.
Kent, I’ve always used a holder shaped like a beer can. You can pour beer and seasoning in it. I always wondered where the ink from the beer can went while grilling the bird, it was gone when I removed the can when the bird was done. So now I only use the holder.
A Fosters beer can works great as well. The extra diameter really helps to keep it stable.
For those in europe, a can of Faxe might be even more stable (and you be glad not to actually drink that stuff). Only getting the bird on that can could be a bit of a stretch...
You da man
I use iron maiden the trooper. It's a flagrant beer. Not much of a fan of drinking it but as soon as I drank it I knew this is being used for cooking.
Kent has so much decency and respect that he'll take his own hat off to keep a friend dry in the rain, even if that friend is a dead chicken with a can of beer stuffed inside it.
right on
It seems to me that the least he can do is keep the rain off of that poor little yardbird...seein' how he done shoved a beer can up its butt! 🤪🤣
I'm hoping that break as you "supposedly poured half that beer down the drain allowed you to pour it down your throat. 😅
well the seasoning would wash off so...yeah

I like to add 1 or 2 tablespoons of Zatarain's liquid shrimp and crab boil seasoning in the beer. That gives it so much flavor!
