I agree with using the 425 starting out. Used the 500 for a 3night hike in the sierras and ANY period less than that I could have gotten away with the 425 for sure

I watched 20 bear cannister videos not one person has mentioned whether it contains the scent. Can you tell me as far as you know is it is scent tight container?

Absolutely! It limits scent but it is not completely sent proof. From my experience

Holy smokes…. have these bear cannister companies ever missed the ship!!! single most important thing is to be sent free…. bears locate 99% of food sources through their nose probably more important than it being bite proof. ….In other words ….even a blind man can sink a put while golfing if he has enough chances on the green …..but if you can’t find the green he’ll never find the hole
