Reviews on REI show that bears on the east coast have gotten into these. Some good pics of shredded canisters.

It’s always fun to see what other folks do. I’ve had a super light and simple setup for 1- evernew pot, alcohol or fire maple stove, S2S XL cup, titanium spoon. Now I’m working on some fancier meals for 2 so adding a skillet, utensils and 2nd burner. Honestly the hassle factor of dealing with coffee grounds in the backcountry has me sticking with instant- Black Rifle currently but I still like good old Bustelo too. One thing I would counsel is to never hold your meal pouch and pour boiling water into it as it shows in your video. That’s really dangerous! It’s great to see you getting your kids out there. Nice video.

Start out with a half full fuel canister? Ounce counting is outta control. I carry an MSR Windburner, compact and never fails, will boil wawa in a heartbeat.

I made the mistake of not having enough water once and the dehydration was not fun. We had the filters but our trail took us high above the river.
