What were the approximate weights of the cans when they were filled. I remember how heavy those things can get
I think they were like 8-11 pounds when fully loaded. Does that sound right? I meant to add a picture in the video of mine fully loaded from that trip. It was stacked
@@NealBenson sounds about right. I just remember it being noticeably heavy the first day or two and then getting lighter as it went on. Just wondering if it would be worth going a little smaller on cans on the next trip and just pack things down a little tighter.
@@thatdudeoverhere I think the BV 500 is just over 2 pounds. Eight pounds of food sounds right for our trip. I think I was aiming for 3500 calories a day. It's so nice when that thing starts to lighten up. My problem is I bring too much candy.

What about toiletries which can also attract bears?
Anything with a scent needs to be placed in your bear can: tooth paste, sunscreen, chapstick, ETC
These things should be included when testing the bear vault capacities.
