Kobe wearing number 8 played with swagger Kobe 24 played with finesse

    • @djfacts9770
      @djfacts9770 6 лет назад +5

Marco Sanchez, yup your right, & MJ has always been known as the greatest finesse player Ever! He might have copied everything but at least he has solidified himself as the closet to MJ. Which in order to pass MJ one must be perfect in the finals, have a killer instinct, & be consistent in the clutch. - DJ Facts, Rotten Apple Radio

Kevin Lewis, so why is there video footage of mike in the early days innovating moves that kobe & lebron later copied. So who stuck their tongue out before mike? & why do both kobe & lebron have pics out there w/the patented tongue hang. Fucking Larry Bird said that micheal jordan is God w/a basketball jersey. Last I checked a God is higher than a king & is deadlier than a mamba!!!!!!! You just lost round 3 of this debate 3-0 & you done son 😂😂😂😂 - DJ Facts

Kevin Lewis, I'm talkn bout classic sports network & your full of shit. Before any of the content on classic, no one was doing anything acrobatic. This is documented in literature & spoken out the mouths of basketball historians. Dude your ignorant & obviously don't do any due diligence. If you can't provide a researchable source why are you still typing...I'm off this! Your dismissed - DJ Facts

Depends if wether in the definition of "player" we include the definition of "leader", or not.
Nº8 was all about him and himself, as much as was about winning. It's even aknowledged by Kobe himself that his biggest mistake of that time was that he just wouldn't listen. And the final proof that he was all about him, as much as winning is that when the notion that he couldn't win without Shaq began spreading, he was done with it and he was ready to leave the Lakers if Shaq didn't leave first. In his own words "that was it". So he was giving up winning in the short term just to prove he could win on his own. Number 8 was all about himself. Number 24 probably would've curved that ball and kept playing with Shaq just to win a couple rings more. But Number 8 simply couldn't even think twice about it.
The player was an utter monster, an one man army at times. Relentless and unstoppable as a player, but a....problematic roster member to say the least. And he was no leader. at all.
Nº24 was all about leadership. He embraced the concept and role like no other player ever has after coming from the player he used to be. Of course it was leadership of Kobe's way: "My way or the highway". He tried a relaxed kind of leadership first, tried to step back and let people sort things out by themselves by being assertive with them. Then the Celtics and 08 happened, and from then it was game on. He would lead by example and expected the rest to do the same, anyone not meeting his standards would not get a pat in the back nor encouragement, he'd would get an exemplary legendary grilling.
Mind you, it worked. they won in 09, but for me the reason by #24 is what defines Kobe and his legacy is that the '08 lakers would've melted against the '10 Celtics, far worse than they actually did in '08. 2010 Celtics IMO was a much stronger side than 08's, yet more or less the same Lakers that had melted in 08 this time they endured a 7 game grind, and won one of the ugliest (yet most emotional and hard fought) game 7s in decades. It was nothing short of a war, a war they fought until the last breath. They. The lot. Not just Kobe. He was on top, but this time the whole team was behind him with the same spirit he had. And that was because Kobe was the leader who inspired the rest to be the same, and that was what won the 2010 ring for them.
That's Kobe for me. And that's #24. #8 was a hell of a player, don't get me wrong, but if you ask me whom I want for my team, wether the roster disrupting, yet spectacular, phisically unstoppable force of nature #8 was, or the less phisically adept, yet much more savvy, and the great leader he became playing with #24, for me is hands down #24. No questions asked.

Shivam Kumar Wrong, Kobe has more All-defensive appearances, more career points, more All-Star aplearances, better footwork, better midrange shooting, better post game, more clutch, won with less (2 championships with Pau Gasol), much better off-ball game and played tougher competition in the playoffs. Also was the best player in the league from 03-10. Just because LeBron won back-to-back MVPs doesn't make him the better player. If that were the case then Steph>Lebron

Here is how I see it. : Stephen A is the boss. It's his show, but he has 3 ambitious journalists, who are gunning for his spot, as the alpha debater. As a result, Stephen A has to be mindful of other aspects of "corporate culture(Climbing up the ladder)". The crew has the potential to gang on him, because it is 3 v.1. So being aware of this, he must form an alliance with his co-host, Max Kellerman.
Now, Max and Stephen have a contentious relationship. In terms of having the inside scoop, Stephen A offers the most insight on certain topics. This is his strength. However, Max has tended to be a fairly better analytic mind. He breaks things down in more 1+1= 2, which is his strength, but because of this fails to the bigger picture on this. Stephen A, knows that in a pure debate, Max would win, so he must remind everyone why he is the big dog from time to time. He does this by pointing out the fact that Max is too near-sighted, mostly in a ridiculing way (Which Max counters with dry sarcasm). The other co-hosts must sit there and take it, because Stephen A is their boss. Don't upset the boss.
(If you've read this far, relax...there's a lot more)
So when Stephen A offers Max an alliance, when Will Cain is present, he treats him a little bit more as a peer than a subordinate. Max must take this deal, because why not ingratiate yourself with the boss after all? Who knows if you will be offered more control over the show as a reward? So once they team up, it is 2v2- co-hosts, versus young bloods. Stephen A is now more secure. Max is closer to the top.
Then we have Molly, the true Achilles heel to Stephen A. Why? Because she is a woman. Due to the hot water Stephen A has been in, as a result of prior "controversial statements" he has made, Molly has spotted a unique kink in Stephen A's amour. He can't critique her too harshly for interjecting as the moderator, as it may be deemed sexist for him to do so. So, as a result, Molly gets away with more time to debate the hosts, and build her brand as sports analyst, not just a pretty face. I believe she aspires to go host and be show-runner for her own gig. Stephen A can't form an alliance with her, as this would make her too powerful and threaten his position.
(Oh! you are still here?....well let's go further down the rabbit hole)
Next, there is Will Cain. He is relatively unknown, compared to the two other hosts. In fact, he lost the contest for Max's current position. Will Cain is pissed. He has a chip on his shoulder, and goes out to prove why he is better than his rival, and his boss who told him no. Will Cain knows that the other two hosts would love to validate 1) the decision to choose Max from both perspectives. He knows it will be tough, so he must go on the full offensive. He calls Stephen A and Max out, all the time with an "I'm not scared of you guys!" attitude. He brings up criticisms of SAS and Max that the silent public tends to make note of, a lot. SAS and Max both feel the burn, but they respond to it differently. Max becomes defensive, and and nervous, sometimes, while Stephen seems upset and goes on the offensive. Max secedes the fight for pole position, and lets the boss get real with the kids.
This is where Stephen A smith turns into Stephen AA Smith. He gets savage, and checks his subordinates with some "Don't think I don't know your intentions, and if you keep playing with the fire, you will get burned"...."The lord giveth, and the lord taketh away"
Stephen A restores his position atop the mountain peak, and the rest of the wolves wait for the hunt tomorrow.
-The Politricks of ESPN First Take... The Saga to be continued

Duncan was a role player that averaged the same stats as Carlos boozer between 07-2013
Kobe also owns Duncan in the playoffs
