also fyi to those who want to look back still or that may be holding them back from deleting snap. i’ve found that the app “timehop” has been great to look back but in healthy doses and only when you want. you can link social media accounts but i just use my photos so i can see what i was doing 1, 2, or 3 years ago!
All these social media platforms are extremely toxic, I’m 36, Facebook started to kick off end of my senior year of high school and smart phones didn’t make it out yet until really after I completed college so I was kind of lucky to have minimal online presence. I can only image how much more troubling it is for teens and young adults now; I even remember the feeling of being left out if you saw a Facebook album the next day to an event you didn’t go to or to see someone’s away message on desktop Instant Messager that others were going to a party you weren’t going to. Now fast forward to today with IG Stories, Snapchat etc it’s gotten even more toxic. Younger people should start a revolution of moving away from social media and going back to traditional ways of fun like board games, sports, bike rides, playgrounds etc, the people of capitalism will hate it
I love how real she kept it in this video. Social media fuck up your life, I have no social media at all, and I’m a better person. Thank you for sharing your story
I got rid of Social Media almost 11 years ago since I only had Facebook now looking back I'm so relieved that I made that decision way back then because I never really understood this Social Media hype but at least I got to see what Facebook was like before deleting it a few years later!
I deleted my Facebook account in April of 2022. I just got irritated of having to see post after post of other people's wonderful events and feeling like Charlie Brown afterwards. I do not regret my decision to delete my account whatsoever.
It's wonderful that you got out, and thank you for sharing your story! I was on Facebook, and I'm so happy I got out; life is truly better now. Of course, my life on Facebook was perfect. 😜
"Produce more than you consume" LOVE THAT! There was a time where I could go 3 months without social media but now it's so hard to go a day without it. Seriously considering getting a flip phone so I'm not tempted to redownload apps.
Thanks you a lot for this video. I like the way you think and speak. It help me to stay away from social medias. Congratulations and greetings from France.
I’ve been trying to delete social media myself lately. Lately I’ve only spent like 30 minutes a day on it. Soon enough I should be deleting it completely for a while. I’m eventually gonna get back on. Cuz I’m into custom shoe design and making horror films.. and social media is good for advertising and marketing and growing a business or brand. However, right now I currently can’t afford to invest in those things and in general I’m just drained out on social media. So I’m gonna try to go a good.3 months without it. It’s so draining and it makes you compare yourself to other people. It can be a really big middle finger to your mental health for so many reasons. One of the reasons I struggle with it is because I live in a small town with not a lot to do… and I’m currently saving up to move to a big city and start over. Honestly, if I lived in a big city right now, where there was actually stuff to do… I probably wouldn’t be on it like that. But i’ve been trying to find alternatives… Like journaling, meditating, working out… Listening to audiobooks, drawling, etc.
I’m so proud of you!!! It takes a lot of commitment to fully delete. But that is the one downside to no snap, are quality men really on Snapchat tho? 😵💫🤔
I dont have socials besides YT and WhatsApp if you consider that social media. Im on my phone a lot less than average people my age. Im still on my phone but at the gym i dont use it or even wear earphones. I dont use it when im in a waiting room. I couldn’t date a zombie. I get annoyed when my friends pick up their phones in the middle of a conversation. I need someone that uses their phone even less than I do so that he can lead me in living a more present life which is my goal.
@@julianagarces2389 I would say Whatsapp is social media, but YT isn't if only you're using it right. And I can see why you're choosing to be with someone who uses social media less
@@julianagarces2389 omgg thats literally me i deleted it all like almost 3 weeks ago and the way u see evryone using their phones so much more.and observe way more in general yk

Started getting fed up with posting thirst traps and other narcissistic bullshit. I genuinely do not get any value either. Cool vid, thanks!

I LOVE YOU 💕❤️
Gosh you just said what I had always felt
Anyways once you quit social media, don't ever go back, because if you do, it's very hard to stop using it again once you're addicted to it once again

How do you temporarily deactivate your account? I can’t find a way to do so
Did you try on desktop?
