I've had my spider bites for roughly 3 weeks as of writing this, and I can definitely say that the worst part is the swelling. Other than that, it's been healing very easily, and the only thing I haven't been liking is just how crusty they tend to get. I'd often wake up with some bad crusties even after cleaning them just the night before. I've had to keep my saline spray with me to make sure I'm not getting crusties throughout the day. I dunno if it's just me, I've heard of my friends with Snake bites also having bad crusties, but it has been a bit bothersome. Again, make sure to clean them and it'll heal insanely well
Thank you for sharing your experience. Everyone heals different and discharge varies greatly. It will also tend to go through heavy and light periods throughout the healing. However, whenever in doubt, see your piercer and have them take a look.
Thank you for sharing your experience but I have to ask where are you located? Because I'm guessing you are incredibly in demand or live in a part of the world where the piercings are common place.

I really want to get spider bites, but unsure if it would be more beneficial to get one in first then wait for it to heal before getting the second one. I feel like the swelling wouldn’t be so bad with just one?
There are really only three reasons to do one at a time. The first is sleeping the second is budget, and the third is having swelling on both sides of your lower lip.
I’m getting just one lip piercing instead of spiderbites but employment isn’t something I have to worry about because I work for family and have my own business on top of that
I'm planning on getting this piercing pretty soon, after the 8-10 week healing period would it be okay for me to take out the piercing for a few hours?? My grandparents are coming up to visit and it would be best if I didn't have them in at that time
Even if the piercing is well seasoned, removing the jewelry for any extended period of time could result in them closing or causing damage when the jewelry is re-inserted.
It all comes down to correct anatomy, placement and jewelry. The key is to downsize the jewelry on a timely bases and if you notice pain or discomfort, remove the jewelry.
I have a question, I play the clarinet and I want to get this piercing. If I get this piercing will I still be able to play the clarinet while it’s healing?
I play clarinet and sax (among other instruments) and just got spider bites. So far, with the way my lip is swollen, I can't play wind instruments for at least a week, but I don't see them impeding my ability to play once they've healed--however, I think having rings in may be an issue, as they will probably touch the reed, but just having studs in shouldn't be a problem. I'll give an update once they've healed if you'd like!
I am planning on getting spider bites but if I would get them pierced right now (in a week or so I am going to sea) would I get an infection? Of course I would clean it each time after I'll go out of the sea.
So I want to get spider bites done. I have fairly thin lips, so I think I would be able to pull of wearing rings or studs, if I can find a small enough ring. If I wanted to attempt to do that, would you suggest having the piercing done at an angle or straight through? I which would work better to try and wear both types of jewelry? I think I will primarily be wanting to wear studs, if that makes a difference. Thanks!
It's always hard to say what will work for someone without seeing them first hand and getting to know them a little bit. We stock 1/4 inch 16g rings and there are a few manufactures that make 3/16 rings, so I'm sure you can find something that fits. If you want the option to wear both then the angle needs to be straight through and placed as high as possible. If you do get them done, good luck and let us know how it turns out.
How's it goin Davo? Fairly new sub of yours. I've enjoyed every video. Very informative and professional advice. 2 questions for you. Have you done an all about stretching video? Haven't found one if you have. And what is your opinion of spring ball captives? I tend to alternate between black jewelry and silver. Typically change everything up a few times a year. I guess that just brought up a 3rd question. Anodized jewelry. I only have black and silver but many people wear all kinds of shit. And I've always heard its not good to have a healing piercing with anything colored. Anyway, keep up the great content and have a great Halloween ✌
Going pretty good and welcome to the channel. I did a video on stretching piercings and you can find it here ruclips.net/video/mwbsz5px0U0/видео.html The spring balls aren't a great option mainly because they aren't very secure. So if they are in an area where the jewelry is going to have contact and fall off, say a genital piercing, then they are a bad idea. The other issue is that often they are not the best quality. As far as colored jewelry, if it anodized niobium or Titanium, they will not be an issue in a fresh piercing. Though flat black tends to create a rougher finish and could cause issues. Now the rubber coated, plated and dyed stuff is a completely different animal and should be avoided completely. You too enjoy Halloween!!!
You need to wait until they are healed. Then it really depends on the depth and angle of the piercings, whether or not you can wear rings comfortably. I would suggest looking for oval or teardrop shaped rings.
I am going into either journalism, psychology, or environmentalism. It’s unlikely the careers I’m interested in would care much about piercings thankfully : )
I just had my septum pierced and planning to get spider bites once my septum heals. Ive been worried if it'll affect me teeth somehow? Im not sure if I may have missed you mentioning something in the video about it... But im worried it might rub against my teeth and make them ache... Ive heard a couple people mention it before. I'm not sure how true it is. I wanted to get the rings, not the studs if this makes any difference.
It depends on your anatomy, the placement and angle of the piercings and the jewelry. All of these can limit or increase the amount of contact the jewelry has with your teeth.
So I have a snake bite piercing. I got it done in July, and I'm thinking about changing out. The studs to the hoops hoops. Would my lip swell up again? Cause it's a different jewelry. And is it a good idea to change out the studs to hoops?
Hello and thanks for the cool vid! I kinda want to get this piercing but am on the fence. I was wondering how much it would hurt, since I've heard that a septum piercing is bad, but I just got it and it wasn't as bad as what I'd heard.
Usually, Lip and Labret piercings are not very painful and if a septum is done correctly it isn't bad at all. The only thing with Bites is that you are doing two piercings in one sitting and it might make it hurt a little bit more than just one.
