This will be the inevitable downfall of all modern cars and why in 50 years no one is going to be cruising around in their "vintage" 2023 Ferrari, Lamborghini, Etc. The cars are too dependent on computers and sensors that will eventually fail and either won't be able to be repaired or you wont be able to get the replacement parts any longer.
Sadly you haven’t seen anything yet. A lot of it these days is to do with regulation and laws over safety and monitoring. All new EU cars must now be fitted with a system that reads road signs and controls your speed automatically, otherwise they can’t be sold in the EU. You can override the system, for now, but it’s yet more tech being forced into cars. They will be regulating self driving tech next too.

In America there are what's called lemon laws. The fact that the car has been to 7 dealerships within a relatively short period of time would legally classify that car as a lemon and the seller by law would have to either replace the car or give you a full refund, whichever you prefer. I would hope that the UK has something similar.
I've lemoned 3 cars in USA and you do not get all your money back. There is a formula that is used to calculate depreciation. Its total BS but its better then nothing.

@@mrufo2297 you got stuck with 3 lemons? That's horrible luck. Every used car that I have ever purchased I paid $400 to specialty mechanics to get checked out before purchasing. Only once was an issue found when my dad tried to buy his dream car, a Thunderbird. It drove down the street crooked, which we would have never noticed without that mechanic. I have no reason not to believe anything that you stated. I am aware of the laws, but have never read the literature of the law. If there is a calculation that's unfair but good to know and I appreciate you sharing that because I will be sure to document everything within the first year of any used car I purchase in the future. I never buy new because I see that as a rip off. I always buy used with under 20,000 miles, and around 2 years old. That seems to be the sweet spot to get the best deal. I once considered selling my Lincoln LS because it had a constant issue with the same sensor going bad after I put about 80,000 mi on it and I got sick of dealing with it. 3 different dealerships, about $2,500 total. They all claimed to solve the problem, and it resurfaced a week later and none of them could figure it out. I couldn't morally sell the car even though the sensor issue was sporadic and if someone took it for a test drive they would never know. If I cleared all the codes and they took it to a mechanic they would never know. Instead of selling it I just donated it to charity. People that knowingly sell these cars are scum. Congratulations on the drop of your Gumball watch, it’s unfortunate that Ferrari has been failing you. I love your enthusiasm and appreciation for the people who support you.
Anything mechanical would be better. I'm surprised an automatic watch guy is so into cars with this many computer systems. If something breaks in a modern car a laptop comes out. Something breaks in an older car a toolkit comes out. An old school Porsche 911 would be the ultimate watch guy car, everything mechanical and looks absolutely killer.
He had it coming for him though. Very dumb to assume all the problems would just magically disappear and that alternator would just fix itself. Overvoltage can screw up ECUs too, not just make it unpleasant. I wouldn't feel too sorry because this is just dumb. He didn't even think to bring a spare battery with him. 🤦♂
Don’t speak like you know his situation. More happens with these peoples lives than you see on camera. You have no idea what’s gon into getting that car there and for it to all fall apart is heart braking.
From an Electrical Engineer's point of view it sounds like a Wiring Harness is all screwed up. Too many faults from different systems at the exact same time. I would be pulling wiring diagrams and find the middle point and start taking measurements. Then find the point where all the systems are going too. It's definitely electrical. Nothing mechanical or sensors. I would be asking Ferrari for the full wiring diagrams for your car and then take it to an Electrical Engineer. Not a Ferrari Mechanic.
Well the good news is, replacing the ECU is significantly easier than going through the entire wiring harness. I would swap the ECU, clear faults and see whether Happens. If fault still exists, work through the wiring harness connectors and then harness itself. The worst part is, things that have nothing to do with one another can cause weird errors…for example if my windshield wiper fuse blow, I lose control to my 4wd/transfer case and the manual does not show that fuse having any relation to it.

Going to court against a massive company like Ferrari is way harder than you think and is incredibly long.

Amazing attire for the big stage Nico. Such a shame the faults are still there, you were so excited to get it back when I was talking to you in the 1889 Club #RAWA
At this point Ferrari should just replace the wiring loom, all the connectors and all the electronics. Like Land Rover or Mini do, multiple electrical issues = new loom first.
Ferrari please get you shit together and fix Niko! I love seeing this portion of the vlogs. Niko, Seeing you get so frustrated and bringing it back to happy is absolutely why I am a fan!
I'm remembering an older video I watched with either DDE, or one of their friends.... I think DDE though, that was having the same exact problem. They switched the aftermarket exhaust they put in with the original one, and it fixed all of the problems. Then they left the original in, until they had someone that knew what they were doing, to come and use their diagnostics machine to reset something in the system. It ended up working perfectly again with no issues, so they found out that it was the aftermarket exhaust that was causing the problems, because the computer in the car wouldn't recognize the aftermarket exhaust. Those kinds of cars systems are specked to their Ferrari parts alone. It took someone that really knew what they were doing to fix the problem, and they were able to put the aftermarket exhaust back on after they did an upgrade to the system. Good luck man, we're all rooting for you!
I don’t think you heard him right. He put the exhaust on 8 months after he bought it. The problem surfaced 3 days after he bought it. So the exhaust isn’t the issue.
@@michaelcady1945 I must have missed that, but know that I'm thinking about it, Nico might have the same problem Damon has. When your battery starts to go bad, and it doesn't have enough juice, it will either shut down certain electronics in the car to save on battery. Then when you start the car finally, and get it moving, the alternator begins to slowly charge the battery. It's gonna come to a time though that the battery gets so bad, that it won't start the car period, no matter how you try to charge it. As soon as you sit in the car and put the key in, all of the dash lights, and every other electronic system starts up right away. When this happens, it's sucking all the juice you have left in that battery. I would say to ask a friend there if you can borrow their battery for a minute. If you plug that one in, and the electronics start to work, along with the car starting, then you know what it is. Good luck Nico, I'm rooting for you!

Went to an independent and fixed in a day. I was told I would have to sue the dealer but got ahold of State of CA BAR with my complete documentation and the money I spent was fully refunded, plus extra for all the B S and lies, I would definitely would sue Ferrari, with your documentation, plus the expenditures for Gumball relying on that car, you will win!

There is something really wrong with that car, more like a lemon afterall. The issue pops up 3 days after delivery and yet they blame novitec for the exhaust and void the warranty which was put on the car months after the initial issue showed up. Seem like lawsuit is the reasonable way for you to get justice, you have a strong case with evidence the errors began way before you change the exhaust, you already put back the stock catback system after 3 months the car under the care of Ferrari service center yet the problem still exist. i can feel his tension through the video, 500,000 pound car and such bullshit from ferrari
Ferrari are a bit renowned for electrical issues since they started putting screens and computers in their cars.. Italian and Fiat engineering for you.
You are so right - and just wait till those display screens start to fail......
100% correct and it’s already happening. Buy pre-2010 sports cars from now on and hold them. In 30+ years you’ll cash in.

I wish you better luck in the future.

I would swap the ECU, clear faults and see whether
Happens. If fault still exists, work through the wiring harness connectors and then harness itself. The worst part is, things that have nothing to do with one another can cause weird errors…for example if my windshield wiper fuse blow, I lose control to my 4wd/transfer case and the manual does not show that fuse having any relation to it.
It's most likely a problematic ECU or a shit grounding point, just have to spend enough time to figure out
@@galaxydrifter9799i agree time has to be spent on working it out.
I really hope the technicians in Vietnam were able to check the part I mentioned, hats off to them for working on a weekend! Stay safe Nico, driving a rwd V12 in the rain without traction control is mad.

Its Ferrari mate, its a multi billion dollar brand, they wouldn’t care about small fish no matter how much noise they make, Ferrari is not for everyone and the few people that buy Ferrari will not be fazed due to this unfortunate situation, Nico should just follow the law to get compensated and stay away from wannabes like that jww man, he will have luck with the Ferrari.
