The categories of unprotected speech include obscenity, child pornography, DEFAMATORY SPEECH, false advertising, true threats, and fighting words. calling him a liar is DEFAMATORY SPEECH, because he couldn't provide an example on the spot... after he says he hasn't been on the app for a prolonged period... because he got defensive and attacked the interviewer
When you have to explain how free speech works to a representative of the BBC. And then a demonstration how free speech exposes propagandists. Thank you again, Mr. Musk.
100%! Musk was bang on the money when he asked "Who decides what is misinformation?". The value of free speech is that every man has the right to hear others and decide the truth for himself. A group that makes themselves the arbiter of truth and silences what they dictate is false is the enemy of freedom. The dictatorship of 'truth' prevents the discovery of truth.
This exchange perfectly encapsulates one of the major problems in today's society--people acting like they're morally superior and know everything yet when they're even slightly questioned on their supposed "expertise," all their knowledge and false superiority completely disappears. It's all smoke and mirrors with these people.
This blogger was given a script and a narrative, and thought he was going to go in and decimate Elon, and MAN did he find out quickly how little he actually knew once confronted with facts, and was forced to actually use what little was left of his brain.

Exactly, they just want to limit speech they don’t like. It’s a very human proclivity. That is why we have the limiting principle of free speech. It should ensure that no one group or entity becomes the arbiter of what can be said, much less the arbiter of truth.

@@zereimu maybe after the first time. Elon became condescending, basing the existence of hate on twitter on one person's ability to remember an example. Evidently the journalist struck a nerve about there being potential for misinformation or hate speech, Elon seemingly doesn't like hearing that for whatever reason e.g. doesn't agree. Hence, he interrupts the interviewer a lot.
He's not dismantling anything and he's being extremely disingenuous. I almost feel sorry for people who watch this and mistake Musk's brazen disingenuousness for some sort of logical and rigorous deconstruction of what the journalist is saying. It's one deflection after another deflection after another deflection. It's almost embarrassingly unsophisticated for a guy as smart as I'm guessing that Musk is. What is the journalist supposed to say when Musk asks for specific examples of hateful content he has seen? So, on the spot, in a matter of seconds, you need to remember specific tweets with their specific words or otherwise your argument gets invalidated? I am pretty sure I read a lot of political content every day, and if you put me on the spot and asked me to provide examples I probably wouldn't be able to bring up anything specific from one or two or any number of days before, let alone in the middle of an interview. In fact, chances are I won't even remember writing this comment a couple of days from now. So what? So what, really? The whole argument is that maybe the journalist is being dishonest because he can't remember specific examples? Wasn't the discussion about a general increase in this kind of content? So who cares about any specific examples and why is the focus on whether the journalist can remember them? (that's one pretty obvious deflection for you there). I don't know, in general it just bothers me when this kind of behavior passes for intelligent or sophisticated. At the beginning of the video Musk also disputes the notion of misinformation and who is supposed to decide what is information and what is misinformation. Oh wow. If only you were an engineer, Mr. Musk, and you knew of the existence of something called facts, if only there was a measurable reality. If only you were sending rockets to space and you could do the math and know when something is going to fly and when it isn't. Because this is not a discussion about ideologies, it's not like it has ever been about referring to people's opinions as misinformation. It's about non truths being presented as truths because there is something to gain from it politically. But, again, if only you were a man of science who could tell the difference between fact and fiction, right?

Hence, he interrupts the interviewer a lot.
Unfortunately Musk is also a liar. He's banned people who say things he doesn't like, particularly when it's about him.

It's not about reporter. It's about BBC. Bbc is just another media house with full of lies conveniently designed for the then colonial l mindsets.

Yes... he totally did slaughtered that reporter...I can just imagine the BBC going crazy right now...hilarious ! They'll hate Elon even more now... Thanks Elon, we trust you.👏💛
Yeah. Funny about those sensationalized (often grammatically challenged) headlines that don't describe the actual story. Dont you hate that?
That dude was no match for Elon
Few are. He's 20 steps ahead of everyone.
Indeed
Of course not, do you hear his accent
@@ipfreely3984 no he 's not..what elon id saying here ive know sonce I was a child...WTF
Elon wasn't even trying lol. He just wanted him to clarify his stance and the moralist couldnt.
This guy from the BBC is a complete weasel.
The whole of BeeBeeSee is a rather annoying bunch of that adjective.
One of the most impressive interviews I’ve seen in years! Elon handled that with such a level tone, no attacking, and that guy from BBC lost total control of that interview.
And his bladder
true...but i just got censored on twitter. its almost on the level of the others again
So true
Elon is asking questions back that he doesn't have answers for," wha what whaaat iisi is misinformation"))someone in his position should know difference between misinformation and information that is based on FACTS
Not attacking? Elons blade was Sharp here. he beheaded that guy!
"Let's move on because you literally have me by the balls and made me look like the right fecking lying idiot that I am." 😂
Figuratively has him by the balls actually
Lol
Libs say “let’s move on” when they want to deflect from themselves. Don’t let them move on. Corner them and pin them down!
That’s how the left handle everything they don’t like, deflection or change of subject as opposed to answering the hard questions.
@@dkaob8351 agreed no escape from their own stupidity.
This is why you let people talk, because more often than not they'll say too much and you've let them expose themselves without having to do a single thing
Yes! Just as Elon Musk was exposed!
@@dianelindholm7719 And this is why we need freedom of speech.

Great comment .
True, but in order for this to work you must know how to ask the right questions.
"you weren't expecting that!" is so cold hearted...badass
"I say sir, you don't know what you're talkin about... you just lied". This is a master-class on how to treat all reporters.
"I'm interviewing you, too."
and politicians 😅
It's bad enough, if he/she doesn't know what he/she is talking, writing about.....And most journalists don't. Just do what is expected of them and copy and paste..
It isn't, it's a masterclass on how to avoid questions and turn the tables in an interview. Did Elon answer any of the questions put by the interviewer? No
@@YoureRightIThink He answered the question, then asked the questions, you lied. 😂 Edit: He actually answered both questions. 👍
When you have been taught that your feelings are truth, this is where you find yourself in a debate.
100% correct
Feelings are not truth, deamocracy is truth, period
Absolutely!
And someone told you your balls should be the size of pees.
This is the real-life version of "I’m not locked in here with you. You’re locked in here with me!"
Rorschach...brutal.

LMFAOOOOO
😂 it kept getting worse! The ending was icing on the cake 😂
When you lie, it’s hard to keep track of all the lies and you end up contradicting yourself at one point or another. Elon just demonstrated a master class in exposing this phenomenon in the “journalist.”
He wasn't lying, he is just a victim of woke stupidity. A bit like you, a victim of tribal mindset stupidity. Critically think. It will help you find truth.
This what happens when you spread misinformation, disinformation and not reporting about all news like as Elon said " side effects & so called unknown death syndrome " ...there's now headlines daily about this person and that person dies and no reason given...ITS ABSOLUTELY EXACTLY WHAT WE WERE, MOST OF US TRYING TO WARN PEOPLE ABOUT..I'VE LOST FRIENDS OVER TRYING TO TELL THEM ABOUT HOW UNSAFE THE VAX WAS...THERE'S GOING TO BE A GENERATION EFFECTED BY WHAT THEY DID IF NOT 2 GENERATIONS...UNFATHOMABLE AS IT SOUNDS, ALL ILLNESSES HAVE SPIKED BY MASSIVE NUMBERS BECAUSE HOSPITALS AREN'T DOING THEIR JOBS...FROM CANCER TO A SIMPLE COLORE BONE BREAK...ITS AN ALL OUT ATTACK ON ALL OF US....
Elon was not even expecting that an then 1 min into the interview he realises, “oh this guy don’t know anything “, and my friend that’s when the slaughter begins
This journalist was a DECEPTIONIST and deliberately tried and failed to trap Musk multiple times.
And when you get away with a lie, you get more and more bold.
Not sure what James Clayton was expecting out of this interview. Clearly, he didn't do his homework, made a fool of himself, and exposed BBC. Good job James!!!
What do you think the average iq of someone working at the BBC is though? As Tucker Carlson says, the people who work for these companies are the least impressive people you ever meet, but they all think they are brilliant. No doubt he thinks this interview went well.
That's probably because he is a reporter and thought he was smarter then Elon, typical arrogant British snob.
Clayton wasn't expecting anything. He was just running errands for his puppeteers and parroting their propaganda.
@@dash4800 tucker carlson projecting lol

How is the reporter a bbc he's white lmao
It seem like Twitter should band BBC for hate speech and disinformation
Nuremburg is what happens when you hold people accountable. This is just an example of WHY there should be a new Nuremburg.
He's regurgitating. Apparently he's lost.

Elon handled this journalist brilliantly. I'm sure that journalist began to get nervous because he probably wasn't expecting that calm slap in the face
He deflected everything. Thats not brilliant. Thats just what Trump likes to do. Whataboutism ftw!
Integrity in journalism is dead.
Yep. They're going to need the entire circus of Stephen Colbert, Jon Lebovitz Stewart, and the other Daily Show hack host to constantly interrupt him on their home turf if they expect to even get 1 iota of their agenda across.
@@patrickwebster9153 Indeed. Maybe next time, they will not send an intern.

Mr Reporter just got completely destroyed by pure reasoning... MANY times in a few minutes.
