Very helpful. I didn't understand that the other contour guideline measurements were moved to the centre dart. I'm working on a single side (bust) dart that has excess fabric at mid armhole. with narrow strap

The center dart allows for a close fit between the bust points. If you don't want that you can transfer this dart to the side seam dart and/or the waist dart.
