Angelina is such an amazing artist: it goes from her soul straight to mine. She always makes me feel the song. Live studio recording means that it is a one take recording and she was only 15 here. She has a very versatile voice and she has been dubbed the girl of the 1,000 voices. She entered the lime lights at age 7 when she auditioned for Norway got Talent with Billie Holiday’s Gloomy Sunday and which she ended up winning. Since she has done many things including performing for world leaders, Nobel Price winners, performing at FIFA events, performing on AGT and going viral with her unique arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody, performing for Quincy Jones on his 85th birthday party (and he compared her talent to that of Michael Jackson). Her family wanted her to have a normal childhood and now that she has finished her high school, she just released her EP ‘Old Enough’. It has a retro pop feeling to it with dashes and sprinkles of jazz, blues and soul in it, but also more modern influences such as rap and R&B. You might have noticed that she was barefoot. There is a beautiful story to it. When she was 6 she travelled through the Middle East. She met a poor girl in the streets barefoot and with scarred feet. She gave this girl her boots and has since performed barefoot, including in the snow, both in remembrance of this girl and to raise awareness for poor children around the world. She has done a ton of charity work.
Thanks for shining some light on our growing superstar. She's been singing at a professional level since the age of 7. (And I know that's hard to believe... but it's true). She was 15 here. :)
Easy On Me Both Angelina Jordan and Adele are under the Republic Records umbrella, 12 hours after Adele released "Easy On Me," this video was dropped on the internet by AJ, and Adele has seen it. Adele wrote the song with its producer, Greg Kurstin, and it is about a broken marriage and a mother trying to explain to her son why it is happening. You have to ask yourself how a 15-year-old Angelina Jordan could do this song justice and give it the emotion it deserves? Here again, AJ takes on the impossible and makes it a classic as she always does. As usual, grandma Mery is close, and even appears in this video with AJ. Mery has been a major powerhouse behind AJ, and they would be lost without each other. One genius helping create another.
I think this video was released about 1½weeks after Adele. Angelina did post an early version of this song on RUclips within the time frame you mentioned.
@larrypifer1103 You may be right. I saw that show and can't remember what was said. But I do know that Adele posted on October 15, 2021, and Angelina posted a TikTok on October 15 as well. Her video (this video) with Rob posted on October 26, 2021. I remember seeing them in that order when they first appeared on the two channels. The TikTok version was uploaded by Rusty to RUclips on the same day as it appeared on TikTok. There may have been an upload on the 21st, but the order and approximate time frame remains essentially the same. Do you have Rob's statement available?
The vignettes at the beginning are important especially the last two. The first was her grandma Mery Zamany who has been the person who aided Angelina's development by introducing her all different forms of music. She is the one that took Angelina to record stores around Oslo so Angelina could sample different artists. Anyway Mery's usual post is with Angelina making sure things were going O.K., well grandma is just coming back from cancer surgery and this was her first day back where she usually is which is with Angelina. So both those little scenes were to point out that grandma's back and how much Angelina loves her and needs her there. I think that whole event with Mery informed Angelina's efforts on this song.
Welcome back Justin. Nice reaction to 15 yr Angelina. Last year at 16 she did 3 amazing concerts in July of 2022 in Norway. She also just released her new EP in July 2023 with 6 songs on it and she wrote all of them. The EP is like an amazing 6 course meal. All songs flow together but are different. Her album is supposed to come out this 4th quarter. She's also doing a concert at the Music Hall in NH, USA. Can't wait for you to buy download and react to each song on her new EP. Once upon a time, in the land of the Norse gods, was born a girl blessed with the gift of song. Properly given the name, Angelina Jordan Astar, she would listen to music every available moment, embracing the story each song told. Angelina was able to hear every note and vocal technique used in a song, then create her own version. Lovingly placing her dolls on the couch, to be her audience, she would perform concerts, honing her craft. The emotions Angelina felt from each song were deep and moving. She sang in order to have the listener feel and understand the emotions she felt. At age 6, Angelina befriended a shoeless orphan girl about her age, who desired to become a doctor but confided in Angelina it would never happen since she had siblings who needed her to simply survive. Angelina told the orphan to never give up hope and to always pursue her dreams. Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the orphan girl, saying the shoes no longer fit her. Sometimes a little white lie is needed. The orphan girl, so thankful for the gift, asked Angelina what she desired to be in life. Angelina said she wanted to sing for the entire world. The orphan girl, who Angelina gave the name Princess, said she would pray every day for her dream to come true. Angelina, told her, when on stage, I will always perform barefoot, to remind me of you and all the children like you who can't afford shoes or clothes. Angelina began her on stage career at age 7 performing for her home country and went on to sing on big stages at age 13 and 17, for audiences numbering in the millions each time. With each performance she gained new fans, who Angelina calls her angels. One would think after performing for such large crowds, she would become well known among the billions around the world, but that was not the case. The world had become a very busy place, with countless ways of learning about new artists. Her angels were inspired to spread the love they felt by listening to her music and knowing her story, and did the best they could to introduce their favorite musical artist to those who had never heard of her. Many of her angels were perplexed why the recording company who signed her, was not promoting her. The reason is unknown but apparently part of this magical tale. We recently learned Republic Records built a studio for Angelina to create her art. Angelina will be promoted when the stars are properly aligned and not before. Until that time, each angel should continue to spread the love they feel from Angelina's music and introduce new people to her.
Classic Jazz is her foundation. She is very retro in her general preferences and vocal choices. One take Angelina never ceases to amaze us. Never afraid to take on epic songs, and this at 15 years old. At this point she is a nearly 10 year musical artist veteran, now with 200 covers and original songs online. We love seeing people discover this incredible joy.
Really like watching both of you reacting to Angelina. Justin, as a vocal coach it must be uncanny to listen to her give definition and emotion to every note she sings. To me she is nothing short of spectacular. And this is still only the beginning of her career. Incredible.
Angelina has great respect for Adele. Her usual style of a continuous live take, the depth of emotional expression is so amazing. Angelina makes us believe in the story, she invites us to join her in that journey. Recently Angelina a released her EP, her first since signing up to Republic Records. She is still only 17 years old, but she feels that she is "Old Enough" - that being the title of the EP. A full album is expected by the end of the year. There are so many of her performances since this one, that you should react to, especially from her live concerts in Norway last summer.

Angelina is a gift of love, beauty and compassion, matched by an extraordinary talent for singing. That gorgeous voice of hers offers us solace for the angst of daily living with our mixed bag of humanity. She is the epitome of what we can be and should be--even if we couldn't sing a lick. No one did this better than the improvisational 'Queen Of Jazz', and that was Billie Holiday, who just happens to be Angelina's true musical mentor. She has stated that there would be no Angelina Jordan if not for the music she garnered from Billie. They should also provide the links to these channels, as well as to her social media, Tik Tok, etc. accounts. And, of course, urge viewers to BUY her music. There're a few reacters who do all of the above and, it's no surprise that they are among the best; but, we the viewers also have to remind those reacters who don't go the extra mile, that their YT existence depends on the artists. Not promoting them is pretty dumb. There's just too many reacters who are solely interested in promoting themselves; was Angelina's name even mentioned in this video? On so many counts, this has to be one of the most dis-respectful reactions BY VOCAL COACHES that I've seen.

Angie has an outstanding ear. She's Norwegian but has a total United States accent. IMO this is Angie's #1 skill, and she was born with it. No one was telling her how to sound like Billie Holiday, she >listened< and then modeled or copied that sound down to muscle manipulation, like Jim Carrey, and she remembers it. No one is telling her what to do. Angie is better at this one listening skill than I will be at anything in my whole life. It's not a gift. It's simply how she was born. Luck of the draw, and what she does with it. Pure genius.

Nice reaction Angelina is known for one take. Obviously on songs where there are overlapping lines or backing vocals (She usually does her own backing vocals) those are from a different take. This performance is from a couple of years ago when Angelina was 15. The pianist is Rob Christie, director of Republic Records LA studio. He has accompanied her on several performances since she signed with Republic 3 years ago. She is 17 now and last month released a 6 song EP of all originals called Old Enough. All the songs are amazing. The EP has a retro vibe especially the two videos. I highly recommended that you check it out especially to get a sense of her own music.
you have to react to her new ep her new ep all originals i can't decide which is the best song the whole ep is such a masterpiece and so well written by her all i can say is she is outstanding and by far the best singer in this decade or century and Diamond is an even bigger surprise I have never seen an EP contain only number 1 songs in my entire life each of the 6 songs is a hit and grammy worthy I hope Republic Records finally fires up the promo engine and it is played on radio and TV only RUclips is not enough. The crazy thing is that she said that the EP with 6 songs is a small selection from over 100 songs that she has already written, that gives hope for the future that we will be surprised with more beautiful songs
After a stand up awhile back at a private performance (it seemed) I thought she was a child wonder but wasn't making it as a young adult. Something or someone has put her onto the right path ...this is what she should be singing! Bet she was hard to handle as a young enigma. But she has found the right path.

Grandma Mery has a small video of Angelina in Republic's studio chit chatting with one of the main managers. He told Angelina there's only 3 artists he's worked with that can do a recording in one take from top to bottom: 1 Beyonce, 2 Sam Smith and 3 Angelina Jordan. Hearing her name embarrassed her and she thanked him.

This produced (needed lottle) vocal avd video came out like 3 days after Adele's release.... doo the math... did SONY and Repub. Records get together for this ? Thos is not some indie cover at home recording. Funny thing, Adele sung this live on TV at LA, Griffiths Observatory show, more as Angelina does here, especially on the modulation part. AND on that televised show, not necessarily at this song, but when ppl were standind and walking to their seats , I swear that Angelina +Sara-mom can be spotted. Since she has done many things including performing for world leaders, Nobel Price winners, performing at FIFA events, performing on AGT and going viral with her unique arrangement of Bohemian Rhapsody, performing for Quincy Jones on his 85th birthday party (and he compared her talent to that of Michael Jackson).
Her family wanted her to have a normal childhood and now that she has finished her high school, she just released her EP ‘Old Enough’. It has a retro pop feeling to it with dashes and sprinkles of jazz, blues and soul in it, but also more modern influences such as rap and R&B.
You might have noticed that she was barefoot. There is a beautiful story to it. When she was 6 she travelled through the Middle East. She met a poor girl in the streets barefoot and with scarred feet. She gave this girl her boots and has since performed barefoot, including in the snow, both in remembrance of this girl and to raise awareness for poor children around the world. She has done a ton of charity work.

Both Angelina Jordan and Adele are under the Republic Records umbrella, 12 hours after Adele released "Easy On Me," this video was dropped on the internet by AJ, and Adele has seen it. Adele wrote the song with its producer, Greg Kurstin, and it is about a broken marriage and a mother trying to explain to her son why it is happening. You have to ask yourself how a 15-year-old Angelina Jordan could do this song justice and give it the emotion it deserves? Here again, AJ takes on the impossible and makes it a classic as she always does.
As usual, grandma Mery is close, and even appears in this video with AJ. Mery has been a major powerhouse behind AJ, and they would be lost without each other. One genius helping create another.
I think this video was released about 1½weeks after Adele. Angelina did post an early version of this song on RUclips within the time frame you mentioned.

@larrypifer1103 You may be right. I saw that show and can't remember what was said. But I do know that Adele posted on October 15, 2021, and Angelina posted a TikTok on October 15 as well. Her video (this video) with Rob posted on October 26, 2021. I remember seeing them in that order when they first appeared on the two channels. The TikTok version was uploaded by Rusty to RUclips on the same day as it appeared on TikTok. There may have been an upload on the 21st, but the order and approximate time frame remains essentially the same. Do you have Rob's statement available?
The vignettes at the beginning are important especially the last two. The first was her grandma Mery Zamany who has been the person who aided Angelina's development by introducing her all different forms of music. She is the one that took Angelina to record stores around Oslo so Angelina could sample different artists. Anyway Mery's usual post is with Angelina making sure things were going O.K., well grandma is just coming back from cancer surgery and this was her first day back where she usually is which is with Angelina. So both those little scenes were to point out that grandma's back and how much Angelina loves her and needs her there. I think that whole event with Mery informed Angelina's efforts on this song.
Welcome back Justin. Nice reaction to 15 yr Angelina. Last year at 16 she did 3 amazing concerts in July of 2022 in Norway. She also just released her new EP in July 2023 with 6 songs on it and she wrote all of them. The EP is like an amazing 6 course meal. All songs flow together but are different. Once upon a time, in the land of the Norse gods, was born a girl blessed with the gift of song. Properly given the name, Angelina Jordan Astar, she would listen to music every available moment, embracing the story each song told. Angelina was able to hear every note and vocal technique used in a song, then create her own version. The orphan girl, who Angelina gave the name Princess, said she would pray every day for her dream to come true. Angelina, told her, when on stage, I will always perform barefoot, to remind me of you and all the children like you who can't afford shoes or clothes.
Angelina began her on stage career at age 7 performing for her home country and went on to sing on big stages at age 13 and 17, for audiences numbering in the millions each time. With each performance she gained new fans, who Angelina calls her angels. One would think after performing for such large crowds, she would become well known among the billions around the world, but that was not the case. The world had become a very busy place, with countless ways of learning about new artists. Her angels were inspired to spread the love they felt by listening to her music and knowing her story, and did the best they could to introduce their favorite musical artist to those who had never heard of her.
Many of her angels were perplexed why the recording company who signed her, was not promoting her. The reason is unknown but apparently part of this magical tale. We recently learned Republic Records built a studio for Angelina to create her art. Angelina will be promoted when the stars are properly aligned and not before. Until that time, each angel should continue to spread the love they feel from Angelina's music and introduce new people to her.
Classic Jazz is her foundation. She is very retro in her general preferences and vocal choices. One take Angelina never ceases to amaze us. Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. Angie has an outstanding ear. She's Norwegian but has a total United States accent. IMO this is Angie's #1 skill, and she was born with it. No one was telling her how to sound like Billie Holiday, she >listened< and then modeled or copied that sound down to muscle manipulation, like Jim Carrey, and she remembers it. No one is telling her what to do.
Angie is better at this one listening skill than I will be at anything in my whole life. It's not a gift. It's simply how she was born. Luck of the draw, and what she does with it. Pure genius.

Angelina is known for one take. Obviously on songs where there are overlapping lines or backing vocals (She usually does her own backing vocals) those are from a different take.
This performance is from a couple of years ago when Angelina was 15. The pianist is Rob Christie, director of Republic Records LA studio. He has accompanied her on several performances since she signed with Republic 3 years ago.
She is 17 now and last month released a 6 song EP of all originals called Old Enough. All the songs are amazing. The EP has a retro vibe especially the two videos. I highly recommended that you check it out especially to get a sense of her own music.

After a stand up awhile back at a private performance (it seemed) I thought she was a child wonder but wasn't making it as a young adult. Something or someone has put her onto the right path ...this is what she should be singing!

Grandma Mery has a small video of Angelina in Republic's studio chit chatting with one of the main managers. He told Angelina there's only 3 artists he's worked with that can do a recording in one take from top to bottom: 1 Beyonce, 2 Sam Smith and 3 Angelina Jordan. Hearing her name embarrassed her and she thanked him.

Hello, have you had a chance of Reacting to any of Angelina Jordan’s New Original Songs on her New EP? The EP is called “Old Enough”. Each song is better than the others, very difficult to pick a best. They are all FANTASTIC. A great EP and her voice? Better and better.
This produced (needed lottle) vocal avd video came out like 3 days after Adele's release.... doo the math... did SONY and Repub. Records get together for this ? Thos is not some indie cover at home recording. Funny thing, Adele sung this live on TV at LA, Griffiths Observatory show, more as Angelina does here, especially on the modulation part.
