There is a cute video of Angelina, then 11 years old, coming back out on stage to sing one more song because Norah wasn't quite ready to come out. Justin & Lala, when Angelina premiered this, that first note and the remainder of that first verse (which was the bridge of the original) crushed my heart and then the rest of the song healed it. Now, at age 17, Angelina IMO is already the best female singer in the world. Her debut album will be released later this year, and then Republic Records will start promoting her for the very first time. Angelina signed with RR when she was 14, but both she and her family requested that no promotion would take place until after she'd finished school. That happened this summer. Pretty soon the whole world will know who she is, and she will take over. On July 21st she released a six song EP called Old Enough, and I would love for you to react to Good In Goodbyes.

Great reaction to Angelina's phenomenal rendition of Elvis' song, which made it totally hers! Just in case you don't know, the pianist is Rob Christie, multiple-Grammy winner and executive producer at Republic Records with which Angelina signed at age 14. She was 16 last summer in this video, now 17. Rob has become her mentor (though he has quipped that she actually mentors him at times!) and has become a close friend of Angelina's family in L.A. Republic Records recently built Angelina her OWN STUDIO (!!!) where she can create and record in private!

This video was a family affair, with her Grandmother Mery Zamani Ex-Producer, her Uncle Mike's two daughters, and her sister Juliette as the young girl growing up. The symbolism from the dust flying off the piano representing the past, Elvis's Black jumpsuit, and the red guitar he played during his come-back tour in1968 to Priscilla Presley's hairdo was pure genius in storytelling. Most of all Angelina sang in a deeper mature voice drawing you into "Suspicious Minds", told through Priscilla's perspective during their troubled marriage, by slowing down the song's tempo and allowing the lyrics to tell the story. Angelina Jordan has developed her style of singing that sets the mood of all her songs. She is a pure Artist!

She is 16 in this but if you watch Angelinas entire back catalogue you will see her try on vocal textures and characterisations like other little girls try on shoes. She never shows off its always about her interpretation. Delicate light or rich and mellow she has complete control. To get an idea watch another of her Elvis covers...in the same key as Elvis at 11/12 years of age HOW GREAT THOU ART.. ... with Angelina you cannot plot a clear route by age as she never shows everything shes got in one song. Depending on which song you listen to you might not think she has power or range, She has both. She can vary grit type of vibrato, slip in and out of the jazz genre. Sing doft and breathy, earthy and full. Having listened to most of her back catalogue That Singer Reacts calls her a Star Vocalist..... its easy to be mislead listening to a few songs. After How Great Thou Art... try Etta James ID RATHER GO BLIND, and SONG FOR A. and ITS A MANS WORLD the one where she is 10 with a full band live on stage and a camera whirling round her head..... together they will give a better idea of her ability, range and prodigious talent.
Angelina has a very rich vocal toolbox which she can use with great ease.
Elvis was an incredible artist and performer and his cover of this song is legendary. Angelina did a minute subdued version with a bunch of melancholy which in my view better fits the story of a toxic relationship where suspicion kills love

My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As the video starts out, we see dishes, and it is a symbol of a home. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.

Angelina's newest EP, Old Enough, features six songs, all originals. From the first to the last song, there appears to be a theme with Angelina relating a bigger story. Yet each song in itself is a story. Angelina's style reflects a whole new side of her that she has not displayed before. I would highly recommend to reaction to the entire EP either one at a time or all in one sitting. My favorites are Now I'm the Fool and Good in Goodbyes. If you are only going to do one, it would be the first that I mentioned.

If you listen to many of her covers and own songs, you will realize she approach each song differently depending what she want to communicate to the listener and she is getting older and is 16 in this video. She is also known as the girl with the 1000 voices.
New sub here. The youngest girl: niece Athena, middle girl: niece Aurora, both are her uncle and manager Michael Astar's daughters. Oldest girl is Angelina's sister Juliette whom Angelina adores. Grammy winner and Republic Record's VP Rob Christie on piano and Angelina is playing a Hagstrom Viking guitar owned by Rob Christie. Elvis played this guitar during his '68 comeback. Angelina's videos always have call backs, subtle references, objects of interest to the song, tributes, etc. I still catch nuances I had not noticed before. After 7 years non-stop as an "angel", Angelina still surprises me in some way every day.
You guys just have not watched enough Angelina to understand why she’s known as the girl with a thousand voices. She sings beautifully in five or six genres, choosing the voice, texture, and tone to fit the song. Angelina is easily the best singer I’ve ever heard, and I’ve been following music since the 50’s.
Too bad you aren’t very familiar with the Elvis hit version of Suspicious Minds. Angelina does what she’s done since she was 7 years old, taking an iconic song, disassembling it, and giving us a completely personal and unique take that you very often like better than the original. Hi Justin, she released a new EP 2 months ago it only consists of originals I can't decide which song is the best. The whole EP is such a masterpiece and so well written by her, all I can say is she is outstanding and by far the best singer of this decade or century and Diamond is an even bigger surprise I have never experienced one in my entire life EP only contains number 1 songs each of the 6 songs is a hit and grammy worthy. The crazy thing is that she said that the EP with 6 songs is a small selection of over 100 songs that she has already written, that gives hope for the future that we will be surprised with even more beautiful songs. Watched this video many-many times and watched 100s of reactions; Angelina completely changed the tempo and arrangement to this rock 'n roll classic without any hip gyrations! This was a family affair with grandma Merly Zamani as executive producer, her uncle's 2 daughters and her sister Juliette. "Suspicious Minds" is a 1968 song written and first recorded by the American songwriter Mark James. After this recording failed commercially, it was recorded by Elvis Presley with the producer Chips Moman. Presley's version reached No.1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and it was his last hit record.
Consider this; there are lots of performers that impersonate Elvis, and some can sound just like him. Have you ever experienced someone that sounds like Angelina Jordan, let me be the first to answer that question, the answer in no. That is because AJ is one of a kind, and on a level that supersedes all others. If you question what I have just stated just listen to the professional voice teachers after experiencing AJ. They all admit that they are speechless because they have never heard anyone like AJ.
The children are AJ two little cousins, they are the daughters of her uncle Mike, he is her manager, and the oldest girl is her younger sister, Juliette.
This is my 126th time experiencing this video, and each and every time it gets better. We must give credit to the support team behind this phenom. Only those that don't really follow her are shocked that her voice is so amazing. lol She is only 16 here so of course her vocals just keep getting richer from previous performances. Plus, it maybe be song dependent. She can sing anything, you just have limited exposure to her. Great reaction;)

At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes.
Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true.
Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East.
