    [iPHONE 15 PRO & iPHONE 15 PRO MAX HANDS-ON]
    I get it: the iPhone 15 doesn’t seem all that different than the iPhone 14 - which means it doesn't look all that different from the iPhone 13 (or even the 12 before that). Form factor fatigue is a big part of what drove me to foldables as my daily drivers, and to all outward appearances the iPhone 15 Pro / Pro Max is, indeed, just another rectangle.
    But as rectangles go, it’s a pretty special one.
    In addition to finally bringing the USB-C port I've been asking for since the start of this channel in 2016, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max make three major changes that will really matter to the folks who line up at the Apple store every new iPhone season. For the first time, I went hands on with these new phones at Apple Park in Cupertino. Join me for the MrMobile First Look!
    [ABOUT THIS VIDEO]

    The only reason why Apple is changing to USB-C is because of the new EU laws, and certainly not because Apple are the good guys of the industry thinking about customers to make their lives easier. Great video. Keep it going.

      No, that’s not the only reason. It’s not if but when they would change to USB-C.
      Almost all their other products have changed to usbc. They had the original cable for a decade, then changed to the lighting port and because people got annoyed at having to get new cables promised to keep to lighting for at least 10 years.
      it’s been about 12 years, so they were bound to switch either this year or next, anyway. Everyone seems to forget or ignore this context.

    Hard to chose between Natural Titanium and Black Titanium. Both of them look nice.
    Thing I never liked about non-black iPhone's is seeing that edge of the back panel color around the screen, therefore I always go-black no matter how much I like other colors. Black/dark color of the back panel just makes the screen look more edge-less so to say. Possibly fingerprints will be much less noticeable on Natural Titanium.

    Titanium is not a material that gives more performance at a given weight.
    Check the specific modulus(stiffness) and specific strength of titanium.
    It is basicly identical to aluminum or steels.
    It is denser per volume... but per weight it is effectively the same.
    Its a marketing lie. Maybe if it was a composite like carbon or glass fiber composites. But those would be alot more expensive and misleading marketing is cheaper.

    • @teguh.hofstee
      @teguh.hofstee 8 месяцев назад

      Structurally any of the three metals would have been fine so it doesn't make sense to look at strength and stiffness.
      That means you have a fixed volume that's going to be a solid piece of one of those metals. Steel would weigh nearly double that of titanium, aluminum is softer and more prone to damage than the other two, so titanium sits in a nice sweet spot (Ti-6Al-4V has a Brinell hardness of 334, 6063-T6 sits at 73, 304 stainless steel sits at 123). You also get the possible benefit of titanium feeling warmer when you pick up the phone compared to the cold steel and aluminum thanks to its low thermal conductivity.
      15 Pro Max is nearly 10% lighter than the 14 Pro Max.

    • @Dogo.R
      @Dogo.R 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@teguh.hofstee Its not a fixed volume. Its a fixed stiffness. Its almost all about stiffness. Plus some extra things.
      And stiffness per weight is almost exactly identical for titanium aluminum and the steels.
      And even the other metrics that are valuable are almost identical when you compare pieces of equal weight.
      I dont know were you get the idea that the volume is fixed... like some entity says the iphone body has to be made of exactly Xmm sheets of metal or we cant make it.
      I get that its lighter... thats not from using titanium. Titanium made no difference and is just misleading marketing.
      Also thermal conductivity is not a problem to solve through coatings. Very cheap.
      And even if we can find a pro to titanium, they are still misleading people by saying it allows it to be lighter.

    Regarding titanium vs steel:
    Titanium is very tough. It's very impact resistant but it is softer than steel which means it's more scratch prone. I think it'll be a net benefit for durability in addition to the weight savings as the more elastic nature will make the frame absorb impacts better too. Of course it's unlikely to stop your glass back or screen from breaking

      Looks like the lock rotation function has never made it to the public release of iOS 9, but it was there in the beta.
      The thing is, the action button isn’t as dramatic as Apple portrayed it to be. If Apple wants, the mute switch can be configured to anything that has two states, like flicking the switch down to turn on flashlight, and then flick it up when you are done. Start / stop a voice memo, turn on / off a focus mode, or even turn on / off an accessibility feature like reduce white point. Off course you don’t open an app with the mute switch, because you will close the app by means other than flicking up the switch.
      At the end of the day, the mute switch can be way more than what it is.

      Michael probably knows the truth: Apple actually developed USB-C and understands why Apple itself is keeping quiet about it on purpose all this time. Everyone (including you) is buying the media narrative that a government forced a tech company to adopt x by passing a law. In reality, Apple played the long-game and designed USB-C and gifted it to the industry. In a sense, they tricked regulators into enforcing Apple’s own technology. (And Apple said from the beginning of lightning in 2012 that it would live for at least 10 years). Now everybody wins.

But they want it on the iphone) no upgrade on the main and ultra wide still the same on the max. 60 hz on an 800$ phone heck even the androids that cost 2-300 $ have these features. With regard to the double-tap fingertips thing on the new Apple Watches; You can already do a similar thing on the existing watches. Go into the settings on the watch, go to accessibility and scroll down to quick action. This is the same function, just with a few less applications. Like if you receive a phone call or an alarm/timer is going off, you can tap your fingers to stop it, but you can't scroll the widgets panel or anything like that. It is still handy though.
