  • Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga REVIEW - Why Did We Need This?
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is a 2024 post-apocalyptic action adventure film co-produced and directed by George Miller, who co-wrote it with Nico Lathouris. It is the fifth installment in the Mad Max franchise, serving as both a spin-off and prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road (2015). The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Alyla Browne as younger versions of the title character Imperator Furiosa, originally portrayed by Charlize Theron. Chris Hemsworth and Tom Burke also star.
Non Spoiler Review - is it better than Fury Road?

Saying things like _"Why do we need this movie?"_ Kinda dilutes your opinion going forward, maybe you could save that phrase towards the end of the review. All I'm thinking through this review is, _ok this guy hated it_ that was a quick review glad he told me 5 seconds in. But I listened to the end with you wining about _why didn't he make this movie?_ It's kinda frustrating but oh well. Take care!

The amount of CGI in this moving, will cause this movie not to age well. Fury road did have CGI, but it was so well crafted into the action sequences,it’s presence lifted the action parts. Miller from what I understand practically had a nervous breakdown on fury road, constantly worried about safety. As for furiosa it was unnecessary, her story was told in road fury. It’s a good plot line, chops and changes the interlocking story between,Gastown and bullet farm was interesting. Fury road, showed two characters dividing screen time, but pushed into a situation. Overall the movie gets a 7/10, you put up with it rather than go along with it. I’m happy to let Max Max settle for a few years, hopefully miller would allow someone like Christopher Nolan to take on the project, love that nolan tries to use as little CGI as possible, which allows his work to age well. Tom back in the driving seat as max would be great, im just hoping it’s not 15yrs when they decide to come back to max and Tom has aged out of the role

The Mad Max franchise is niche. Besides the very first film in 1979, no other film has broken through with the general public.

And to have a little scene where Mad Max, who is actually played by another actor, just happens to be there watching, meh. Part of me feels like if Mel Gibson came back for Fury Road, that probably would've had even more hype. Yes he's too old and looking at Harrison Ford in the latest Indie movie makes that idea risky. But maybe not have him do as much as he once did. Idk
