Remember that scene in Fury Road at the exact moment when Furiosa starts to trust Max? That scene is what reminded her of Praetorian Jack, that's why she warms up to Max so quickly.
Furiosa need to be watched in theatres on the biggest screen available. It's magnanimous, grand and blistering epic! Surely, the best looking movie I've seen in recent times.
When he got to the bit about a silent movie I immediately thought of Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal. Imagine Genndy and George working together on a Mad Max no dialogue animation
Please, if possible go see this movie in theatres not just because it will be good for the movie to do well in the box office, but also because this is a theatre movie that NEEDS to be seen loud and in your face. Just like Fury Road.
I have never been moved by a film like Furiosa in a long time. Even as a fan of Fury Road, I was still blown away and have seen it three times. Never expected a movie to do that for me. Lots of box office bomb talk, but that is just the present. I am glad we got this at the very least, and it will be looked at better and better as time goes on.
It still blows my mind he was a doctor, he worked in an amazing field and used his earnings to self finance his first movie with the first Mad Max, and made stuff like Happy Feet and Babe
@@deezim The film is a financial failure, why would anyone sink into this failed endeavour for a limited audience? Heck, I love Fury Road but he should have done a sequel.
25:00 The war he is talking about is the Yugoslavian war. The couple killed on the bridge by a sniper were a Bosnian and Bosnian Serb. I heard about it long ago on Japanese TV and am surprised I remembered with George’s description. Apparently there’s a 1994 documentary on it called Romeo and Juliet in Sarajevo. Truly horrific.
First thing I thought with Praetorian Jack was he is like Max and how that just added another dimension and dynamic to his and Furiosas characters and story in Fury Road that wasn't there before. Which is a good thing as Furiosa really does make a good prequel to Fury Road and like Miller is saying you watch Furiosa go straight into Fury Road . This is the first prequel I have watched which I think truly elevates the previous films characters. Go watch Furiosa and see the two films as one long story. Good film.
@alexlazzerly3677 South Park has been around for over two decades, if not more. It isn't like the guy stumbled across it recently. He has probably loved it from its origins... since its genesis. He may be Aussie, but he doesn't live in the outback away from popular culture or a TV screen 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The box office for Furiosa is so unfortunate right now. It seems that most people who have gone to see it have enjoyed it but the interest just doesn't seem to be quite there for most people. Which I think is a mix of the trailers showcasing unfinished vfx, which created pretty bad word of mouth before the movie even released, and the fact that general audiences weren't really craving a prequel/side story for Furiosa herself. Hopefully the reception is good enough to allow for The Wasteland to start production. But even if Furiosa is the last Mad Max movie we see, I think it's a worthy addition to the mythos and will be remembered as a legendary final entry into one of the greatest movie series in history.
Who would possibly green light it? Furiosa is going to lose WB over a hundred million, even with creative accounting. It’s going to be a huge financial disaster. He should have made a sequel years ago, not a prequel that no one asked for (and even then, Fury Road itself lost money).
@@AnthonyPi1999a ton of people were interested in Furiosa spin-off, but due to a fallout with the studio, it didn't get off the ground until recently. So, they definitely didn't strike while the iron was hot. Plus, Charlize Theron embodied the character so we'll and this movie lacks Theron. Then there is the economy, the rising costs of movie theatres, and the rise of streaming. George Miller envisioned Fury Road as the end of a second trilogy. He wanted a make a Furiosa prequel and a Max prequel that leads into it. Guess we won't get Wasteland now.
If there were anything I'd like asked of him it's if there is anyone who he would allow to add to the Mad Max mythos, or if he would rather it end when he dies. It's a hard question to ask though.
If he's serious about making a justice league movie this could be the back up plan to James Gunn's universe. If he was to make the first movie then after wards it was a series. I don't think there's enough interest in seeing movies around individual heroes anymore, but I think a justice league show would be quite popular.
Full disclosure I’m a huge Snyder fan. It’s because his hero films have an intensity to them that I find in George’s max stuff. See knightmare scene in Batman v Superman . A miller hero movie would be a dream. It would be similar to that in my mind.
