    I am no expert like these guys, but I will tell you what worked for me..... We moved into a house and quickly learned we had a rat problem in the attic. I trapped and battled it for months. I called one company who sent the village idiot to our house. He put out victor rat poison pellets in various spots in the kitchen I asked him if he thought that was a good idea when I have a dog and cat that are inside. He picked them up and stuck them in the attic and said we will be back in two weeks. Well after a week, we smell the most unholy stench that almost got us to leave for a hotel room. They come out and have to cut in three sections of the wall to remove the dead rats. They say that the problem is eliminated.
    Not even two weeks later they are back They chew up the dishwasher. I look and just can't figure out how they are getting in.
    I have my wife and 5 other people around the house watching. I went in the attic and set off 6 cans of roach fogger. That got them running for their life 🤣. Someone outside sees them leaving. I sealed the hole with a small piece of 3/4 plywood and steel wire mesh over that. I then setup 20 snap traps in the attic and caught two during the next week. I haven't had any signs in a year.
    Another friend of mine said if you suspect a hole but aren't sure. Put a piece of paper or carboard over it. If its chewed through, then you know.

      Thank you for sharing! I've battled rodents at my parent's house and can't figure where they are coming from. The roach fogger sounds like a great idea! And I got to buy more Victor traps because using poison and having dead rats stuck in the walls is no fun!

    Great you found out how they got in, but, if they get in and can't get back out they will starve or die of thirst pretty quickly. How were they staying alive?

    • @batman9512
      @batman9512 2 года назад +1

      Rats don't need much food to stay alive. If there are multiple rats and they get desperate, they sometimes eat each other.

    Could rats infest my long-unused basement, considering I addressed a past water puddle causing bathroom mold and the peeling ceiling from steamy showers has no visible cracks? Are the wipes used for mold cleaning and left out for garbage collection likely to attract rats? Note: I haven't been down there since August 30th

      You might be up to something. This would be a great project to do. I was thinking you tag them with a gps device (air_tag) but it won’t be effective loss of signal and not a great resolution beyond +/-8 meters. Glitter perhaps 😂possibly a layer of glue so you can compact more glitter and also attach a Christmas bell or electric bell with a remote device so you can always ring the alarm to hear where it is.

      Hi Max! This all depends on how aggressive your infestation is. How much access we have, how big the home is etc .... this can range from 875.00 to 10,000.00. The hire amount is drywall openings, drywall repairs, pipe repairs monitoring trapping etc.
