  • A roof on Soldier Field could make winter games warmer and bring Chicago a step closer to hosting a Super Bowl. But is it even possible?

that wouldn't work in the northern climates because of snow and wind. If they put covers like that on any outdoor stadiums, the snow would swirl and swirl all around making kicking virtually impossible. The wind would come over the stadium and than drop in and snow would be depos

Retractable roof and more seats! Soldier Field has already lost it's National Landmark status, might as well make most of the current stadium or build a new one.
Chicago NEEDS to host a Superbowl. The Bears are one of the oldest teams in the leagues and the fact that it will likely never get to host the big game is annoying. Plus a roof would help with increasing revenue for the stadium like basketball tournaments, BIG 10 conference championships, and concerts.

It was the same debate when the Eagles wanted to replace Veterans Stadium: be an open stadium and forgoe having Philadelphia host the Super Bowl, or build a dome or retractable roof facility and be in the running for a Super Bowl. And like the Bears and Packers, Philadelphia chose to make Lincoln Financial Field an outdoor stadium. MetLife Stadium was just fortunate to have halfway decent weather for the only outdoor cold-weather Super Bowl to date.

There's more involved in this whole relocating issue, than the stadium or otherwise, more people know.
