    For the hobbyist, this seems light years away. Over the top amazing technology, and thank you for taking the time to video it all. Almost depressing the learning curve to go from 3-axis to see the incredibly complicated parts you can make with these machines.

      with dedication you are always closer than you think. i started with an overdraft and in the garage with a small benchtop mill a little over three years ago.
      now got several Haas', and just bought my first DMG NLX2500SY. Toying with the idea of a DMU50 too

    I still love the capability and price of HAAS but after working around DMG there is no comparison. A CMX 1100 and DMC 80u were added in the last year and have had an NHX 8000 and NV5000 steadily putting out work. All have been bulletproof.

    I am going to Germany in 3 days and I will visit lot of dealers. already bought one old CTX400 by photo 😄
    And gonna buy CTX420/520. I expect from them good accuracy)) they have linear system. Also will look for some DMU milling 4/5 axes. Whooaaa

    • @mateuszc.1928
      @mateuszc.1928 4 года назад

      Linear scales will not add accuracy a penny! This is for control to mask earlier degradation of your slideways. There is a reason why they put this expensive part as a standard! Think about it! They woulnt spend a dime but now they put expensive scales into machine? There is more to it. Reality is that with scales amchine is cheaper but people make "whoahh" sound. The other story is they make it mass production next door to DMG in Pfronten.

  • @cncit
    @cncit 6 лет назад +1

    I prefer the DMG Mori DMC to the CMX as all the slide ways are above the table away from the machining envelope.

    • @harrelsontrumpets
      @harrelsontrumpets 6 лет назад +1

      I agree, but the DMC is literally twice the price of the CMX well into the $300k range.

    • @Sketch1994
      @Sketch1994 2 года назад

      @@harrelsontrumpets I worked on a M1 and despite it being a lower class machine priced at around 80k with all options, it features the same head-head-head design which makes it very reliable and makes cleaning and maintenance a charm, while the Siemens control is pretty nice despite encountering many erratic problems, but at the same price point Doosan is better in almost every way except the design layout which has a moving table. I would be very hard pressed to choose if I didn't already have an idea of what I would be making, as when it comes to automation one is more suited to pallets while the other is easier to equip with stuff like barfeeders etc.

    nice toys, but too expensive.
    the world will be changed by all those people who are making progress in building DIY CNC machines.
    I have seen really well-engineered projects, essential to reduce costs obviously, but some geniuses.
    these from the industry are obviously brilliant, but too "comfortable" that they would like their customers to simply press buttons and pay. This is capitalism, and in the new world, sorry, they are too greedy, and they are devouring the world, it cannot be sustainable.

      When companies buy branded machines they are also buying the 24/7 backup services + the continuous R&D alongside it. DIY doesn't offer that.
