I've recently discovered and it works. It gives me the correct swing path and I am hitting the ball so well. I say to myself, complete the circle and swing back and forth without the face flannel coming loose. When playing on my own, which I do a lot, I use it the entire round.
Best tip I ever gave was just this and to lock out your left elbow (if right handed) to create maximum leverage. So yes, tuck in the arms to your ribs.
People in general have no concept of how important "staying connected" is. And 99+ percent of them are not. Further when you tell them or show them on a range, virtually none of them pay any attention. Nick Faldo said it best of TV a few weeks ago after observing a bad shot. Said Nick, " the body has to swing the arms, not the arms swing the body". For those of you that do not know why you cannot carry your range game to the first tee, this is the answer. When you "stay connected" the need for timing goes way down. Nicklaus was very vocal about this too for decades. Said Jack many times, "there is no recovery from a bad take-away". Hal Sutton has been very vocal about this too. Said Hal. "my game was only as good as the first six inches of my take-away". You make or break "connectivity" right there.
Hmmm.. i can't believe that pro has to do drills like this still :D This is good advice for beginners but i would've thought that you don't have to teach or practice basics like this when you are a pro :D

Great guy but hand and body not in synch with that final putt on Sun at Charles Schwab! Had a nice little bet on my guy and missing that 3 footer...OUCH
It's not useless. It's probably one of the most used drills in all of golf and has withstood the test of time, ever since it was popularized by the great Jimmy Ballard.
I’d be able to hear him without that music
HUH?? What'd you say?!?! I couldn't hear you over the music
yeah, editor didn't even review the final video. always lower the background music to a min to hear any commentary.

Hope for the younger generation if more like him, congrats to his parents, they did well bringing up this young man!
You must know him personally ?
It works!! I had a Golf instructor show me this tip about 15 years ago. Back then we used a headcover. Thanks for the reminder!!
49 people dislike this video, that's crazy. What a great tip from such a nice guy! Keep winning!
It's the annoying music.
That is NOT music
It’s like listening to a radio weather report. For some reason people think you need music with everything. Just let the guy talk.
I believe those people disliking this video got perfect swing. lol
Disliked the video because I can’t hear a f***ing thing he’s saying…..
Thanks Collin, I tried this with a towel and it fell every time 😂now I fixed my swing in a minute! Thanks dude 🍺🇨🇦⛳️
Is the towel supposed to stay there after hitting the ball as well?
@@wayne6qf7 pretty sure its only during the backswing
This helped me so much! Lanyard going in my golf bag. Thanks!
This man speaks you better listen. One of the best players on tour

that was an awesome playoff Colin , congratulations.
USPGA Champ...excellent shot for that EAGLE!
Great exercise to get your mind back into the right direction.
Collin is a stud and has a bright future in PGA....💪🏽
So simple, but so amazing, it works and helps you turn
Well done, this really WORKS 😎
Thanks Collin!
Hope this guy wins a lot more great for golf.
Thanks Collin -- Good luck in your next endeavor
You will soon be number 1.
Love your swing
This is probably the best swing drill you will ever hear
i'm up for this tomorrow at the range :-) great tip
Do you do this with all shots? Including the driver??
Best tip I ever gave was just this and to lock out your left elbow (if right handed) to create maximum leverage. So yes, tuck in the arms to your ribs.
Wow...simple but effective. Nice video...
Great tips 💪
Timeless exercise with modern twist. Lanyard for the win
Excellent point to keep your left arm connected and maintain the triangle!!!

it is actually a very good tip, thanks!
Good stuff. Real nice guy.
It’s the Jimmy Ballard Golf Connection ✅
Leadbetter/Faldo idea from the 80s.
Thanks Colin.
Loved It!
What a great tip.
Great tip!
Congrats Collin on Olympic great result!
Great, easy tip! Ive been using it for yrs
CAN WE SEE YOU HIT ONE 😩
My swing feels amazing after doing this drill for just a few reps
Thank you
That technique really works!!
At what point in the swing is it OK for the glove to fall?
Never, you must finish the entire round without letting the glove fall
On your follow through.
@@DaveH I still have mine tucked in from last Saturday is it OK to remove?
Until you need to wear the glove
When Colin speaks, you listen!
great tip!
Thanks Kevin! I’m gonna try that!
Thanks Collin.
We were doing this with a headcover back in the mid 1980's when everyone worshiped Hogan (and gave him his credit for these kinds of drills).
What was the music for? got in the way of what he was saying
Easy drill...I like this one!
Is this for all types of shots
Rick Shiels made a video with the same drill some days ago but with your own shirt. It's a good one!
Damn that’s actually a great idea
A young Tiger without the vices.
So Collin and Ben Hogan are/were telling you to stay connected. I think it's time to listen if you're not =D
Is this just on the takeoff or the whole swing
Just the backswing
If this gets me on tour and winning majors I’ll do it
D Johnson, hmmmm, that’s got a certain ring to it 🤣
Felt bad for him last week, don't know when he will get another chance like that.
Looks like he did!
And on Sunday last !!!
Great tip but why the irritating music in the background?!
brutal music
Wanted to see him flush one at the end
This is what Hideki Matsuyama does every time.
Or a one piece takeaway for the first foot or so just like all the best players on the planet
Great advice / drill. Appalling music.
what would you know😜
i use my headcover
I wish they would show him actually hitting shots with the drill he is talking about…
What does he know!
This guys bad hitting day would be the day of my dreams where I went out and celebrated ha.

NO MUSIC! The music is totally annoying and unnecessary!
bad hitting day? really, seriously?
problem w driving ranges is they are all flat...need to practice hitting off uneven lies

Jimmy Ballard's Connection. Got it... Would be nice if you made reference to the guy that actually invented the concept and the drill.
It is one of the oldest tips in the book Does not have a specific owner I believe.
A guy invented keeping your body and hands in sync apparently

Good video, but why the annoying music?
So can we see him hit the ball and actually do the drill or do we need to continue to listen to this rave music?
Not on the PGA Tour's channel! Dumb editing or nothing for you!
Music was so unnecessary
How does Colin play so well with such a weak left hand grip?
Super quiet microphone, combined with obnoxiously loud music…..come on PGA, you can do better
music is annoying
Tell your video editor to lay off the drugs
