in the other word, this game is made to cater to online and offline player. if you are offline player you can have 60+ gameplay with multiple ending, thus like console game. if you like online, you will go gatcha where you can fight multiple boss and DLC content. thus technically, the game will be "forever". as long as you can make it interesting to people, you can make them play. console player (offline)...oh yeah. online player (gatcha?)...oh yeah.... make a collab with some flag tactics game then you will make a more massive income. good job developer. on the paper though. let's see how it goes.
Why does every new TRPG try to imitate FF Tactics and Fire Emblem but none of them try to be like Shining Force, which as you pointed out is one of the most influential tactical games from our childhood. It's so disappointing.
That’s very true. You’d be surprised to know that Shining Force - developed by Studio Camelot - was based on Fire Emblem but with free roam and open world features. Ever since the studio moved away to other projects, no one has built on that formula: open world + tactical battle system. We have just tactical rpgs now. It would be awesome if this formula came back!
@@akhafasu Oh that's very interesting. A few years back I saw footage of the Shining Force remake and it looked fantastic, but the game ended development which left me heartbroken. I’m not supporting anything here. Just shared my honest thoughts on the demo I played. The story mode is free from all the gacha elements and that’s what I played
Is this the first free/gacha where there is *actually* a free game *and* a reason to also use the free gacha system??? I have not enjoyed a FTP gacha since Brave Frontier. I've tried many, and many are good. Good enough that I will spend money as long as I like the game, which unfortuneately for FTP gachas usually equates to $10-$20 worth of gems/summons and then I stop playing after a few days.
This is a free to play title and you can play the entire story mode without paying a single penny. The story mode is 60+ hours and from what I’ve experienced, it is pretty good
Another low gatcha game. Hard pass. Take your gatcha and stick it somewhere safe. Enough is enough, I want normal games not something that will try to take over my wallet or all of my free time. Live service, gatcha and all other always online FOMO crap can get lost.
@@akhafasuSo they went for a longer time before they screw people over, nothing new or extraordinary. Still crappy gatcha that can go to hell and never come back.
I love games like this. I sure hope it eventually comes with EN voice actors but i do love the JP cast work too. Most definitely picking this up. I always wanted to get into game design to make titles like this since FFT days.
I f**** hate gacha, and I hate that it has invaded pixel RPGs. I'm glad that they never had this type of monetization strategy back in the day, or else Konami would have a field day in hiding most of the characters in Suikoden in a paywall. Could you imagine Pesmerga or Mazus behind a gacha paywall. Man just the sheer thought of it makes my blood boil.
Just to clarify, this game has two modes. Online and story. Online has gacha elements but the story mode is free from any micro transactions. That means you can play the entire story mode and won’t have to pay a single dime.
@@ayemjake yes. The story mode has its own characters and you can recruit more too. This is from the demo that I played. If things change post release, then I wouldn’t know about it
I saw your video and jumped into the demo, but I was dismayed about how much of this game is designed around being a Gacha game. There is literal pulling and stamina (energy required) to clear content. This fact unfortunately overshadowed all the amazing art and voice acting.
@@akhafasuThe hours of gameplay isn't what makes this a gacha system. Genshin has way more hours of gameplay than that, and you don't have to buy anything, but it is still a gacha game. Its the fact that units are behind a randomized system where you need currency to get the best units (Not by skill or playing the game, but by paying real money), and stamina (Content) is behind a time system. When you run out of stamina to do content, you need to either pay up or wait longer. That's what makes it a gacha system.
@@GaryYeung in that case, the story mode doesn’t have that. You get characters as you progress the story. You can also recruit random characters from the tavern

@@akhafasuNot that I'm complaining (I mean it's free stuff), but that means they don't get even a single penny from player who only cares about the single player experience...
@@casekocsk I know what you mean. But there are players out there who are fine with gacha elements and pay just to get what they want. I guess the developers are relying on them to make purchases

FF tactics sucked. Everyone needs to start admitting it and stop acting like it was anything but a great story, it felt adult and cool at the time, sure. @@xfool I’m not sure. Nothing confirmed yet as online mode was not made available to me
@@akhafasu thanks, feels like the online mode is mainly for pvp and maybe some co-op with friends.
@@xfool I think you got that about right :)
Please release in Nintendo Switch!
They’re working on it
I want to play this but i can not get over the graphics... i think im the only person who doesnt like hd 2d
That's ok. I didn't like them at the start either, but then as I played, I kinda like the 2D pixel art graphics
@@akhafasu Octopath traveller was cute, as a nod to the originals, but honestly, these kind of graphics are lame as hell nowadays.
I loved FF Tactics. Will certainly keep an eye open for this.
Cool :)
does this game have mtx?
If you mean micro transactions then yes, but only in the online mode. The story mode doesn’t have any and is 60+ hours long
this looks so polished. im excited.
Good to know :)
It looks interesting but I’m worried it’s gonna be too easy or too dull in terms of tactical depth
The depth is there. Try the demo. It’s out on Steam
Why does every game now need a big ass tree
Mana series: Wait till you see mine!
@@AkaiAzul lol. There’s no tree in the story here 😅
We have a date for the release date?
Not yet. It just says a spring 2024 release
@@akhafasu well IS not that far so, i listen that Will be for August so better before than the end of summer lol
@@Larry.Katula it was suppose to release in fall 23 but got pushed to spring 24. Not sure when it’ll release
Any news on android release?
I think it’ll be simultaneous release on mobile and Steam whenever the release date is finalized
"Preview" and "masterpiece" don't go together
Not gonna complain if that’s what you think
@@akhafasu Lmao it's not a you think/I think situation. It's an objective fact that you can't declare something is a masterpiece after merely previewing it. Come on bro, it's just clickbait culture
@@michaelharrington5860 if you believe objectively this to be a click bait, then you should’ve stayed away. I’ve played this game for 10 hours and found it to be a good game. Now when opinion comes, you can definitely choose not to agree provided you’ve experienced it and found it to be otherwise. I don’t believe in click bait and take my content seriously. If you don’t think that someone can preview/ play for a good amount of time and call something great (FF7 Rebirth got so many amazing previews when the demo came out), then you can choose to disagree. I’ve no problem with that. Objectively, for me, playing or trying out something and finding it to be good fits the bill.
but it's not made in Japan, right?
somehow it feels off from JRPG
I’m not sure if Studio xd is purely Japanese
cn dev
First I’ve heard of this but dang I feel super excited for this.
Good to know :)
The game looks entertaining
It is fun, especially if you are into tactical rpgs
wow can`t wait to hack it
Lol
😐 gatcha against hmmm
Online is gacha, story mode is not
For a really cool, unique tactics game that's criminally underplayed, check out Great Ambition of the Slimes.
Thanks. I’ll check it out
Also, The Sword of Convallaria demo is out now on Steam!
Could have had English voice acting too
Maybe in the future
Thos looks like a gatcha game... Is it?
The online mode is gacha, story mode is free from it
Mobile?
And PC
This is literally Final Fantasy Tactics. Love it.
Have you played the demo?
derivative and trite. sorry, but this is a cheap cash in that does nothing to further the genre
There’s a lot to this game. I’m sure you’ll see it when you play it
@@schmiggidy Between tactics ogre, FE3H, and Triangle Strats, this game doesn't add a single new element. Change my mind.
@@7F0X7 there are quite a few elements that’ll surprise you. The demo will be out soon on Steam. Give it a go when you get the time. Do play the story mode
I agree. I thought it's gonna scratch my itch for more FF tactics but I was severely disappointed by the demo. I was looking forward to this when I saw the trailer and thought the visuals were good but shame the combat and strategy felt shallow compared to other titles.
I'd rather spend $60 on Triangle Strategy than invest on this game to be honest. @@7F0X7
Is there gacha/random recruits in the story mode?
Yes and no. While you can recruit random characters from the Tavern, you also get characters integral to the story/plot
@@akhafasu is the story mode rly easy? Seems like the balance would be all over the place or insanely powercrept if there’s random gacha units you can get
@@jhon1406 the battles vary in difficulty - you can see that in my preview and the demo is out on Steam. You can give it a try to see how it goes.
Shut up and take my money 😍😍
Lol
Boy if it aint english I aint playing it simple as that
Lol. Ok
Gacha 🤢
Online is gacha, the story mode is free of micro-transactions
How to get access?
Demo is available on Steam
Switch release??? Please???
No date set yet. All I know is that it is under development
F2p gacha trash.
Story mode is free from any monetization
Might be worth the campaign alone but if paying money makes the campaign experience differ at all then it deserves to be review bombed.@@akhafasu
@@TheUnknownDeath That's the thing, the game is FREE. Online has gacha elements, but the story mode is completely free of any gacha elements.
Online mode gatcha ruined it.
The story mode is worth it. Try the free demo on steam
Do you believe there is replay value?
I believe so. I didn’t play it over 10hours so don’t really know
@@akhafasu it mentioned different endings, but beyond that, I am curious if there is replay value. Thank you.
@@learnthis4768 the online mode is there too, but because of the gacha elements it might not appeal to everyone
@@akhafasu it will all depend on how the online plays. Gacha games make the money so games can continue, but there needs to be good reason for the gacha part, not just random things to add to the game. If the online plays like single player but you can purchase heroes and weapons, I can see that being successful especially if there are guilds and/or competitive play.
@@learnthis4768 very true. Let’s see when the game releases
Does it have coop ?
Yes, the online mode has PVP features but they were not available in the demo that was provided to me
The devs alluded to guild systems being added in the future. We'll have to wait and see.
No English voice acting? 🤦🏻♂️
Not on the version I played
Gacha ?? :/
The story mode is free from all gacha elements
What is the expected release date for this game ?
Spring 2024
@@akhafasu great thank you.
@@michaelparfitt3436 you’re welcome. Are you looking forward to this game?
@@akhafasu your video was the first I have seem or heard of this game. I have signed up with pre registration. I'll definitely check it out.
@@michaelparfitt3436 awesome! Do let me know your thoughts on the game 😊
its already 2024.... and we still get games like it was made in the 90's.... hard pass on this one. if you're gonna make a turn based rpg, atleast make it look like legend of heroes.
There’s a distinct style called 2D HD pixels and it’s quite popular. Games like Octotraveler and Triangle Strategy are really popular
@@akhafasu your 2 examples says it all. almost all that played and finished that game didnt leave any lasting impression.
aka it sucked. they just dont want to say it out loud.
@@michaeljakeusman well if that’s your opinion then that’s your opinion. If you don’t like it then you don’t like it
Can you recruit the Mysterious Cat?
Lol. I don’t know and I don’t think so. I had only 10hours to play the game. The cat was only available in online mode. Guess we will know when the game releases
imagine not mentioning tatics ogre :( sad day, but the games seems really nice
I did mention it. Perhaps not as many times as I should’ve
maybe just not in the intro :(
@@akhafasu
@@darkxcalibur oh I did mention in the intro
