Thanks for the footage - I'm part of the C100 M2 cult (can't justify the cost to upgrade to 4K just yet). I like shooting Wide DR over Clog. Much easier to expose accurately and a lot easier to grade right out of camera. Not as harsh and contrasty as the EOS setting - a nice compromise. I personally have found the 4.2.2 on an external recorder is not worth the hassle for the very marginal improvement in quality. Much smaller files internally too.

When I had my G40 I always shot in Wide DR, but with the C100 i now prefer C-Log. It just seems to give me a bit more control. I usually shoot ProRes 422 on the Atomos as it's a bit kinder to the CPU when editing on my aging PC.🙂

@@cbsothervideos2898 I appreciate your tips and experience. I keep talking to as many members of the C100 cult that I can to see how I can pull more quality - shooting and in post - out of this venerable HD camera. I just wish Canon had allowed external 4K recording - my guess is that they didn't want to cannibalize the sales of their high-end cine cameras. Try as I might I have to concede you just don't get the detail and dynamic range out of this camera compared to the newer 4K cameras no matter what you do. I've always said I'd rather focus on the strengths of this camera rather than it's limitations, but it is showing it age for sure.

nice work...love the rose with birdie shot...what lens? I use a couple of C100mkii's for artist interviews and music events - opera, philharmonic orchestra and jazz big band concerts. Of late mostly only home based footage due to some ongoing health issues...they're still a great camera.

Thanks John. That was a lucky catch as I was just testing at the time. The lens is the Canon EF-S 18-135mm zoom.
