  • goo.gl/A6I5L - During the 1966 College Football All-American Team segment on The Ed Sullivan Show, the camera mistakenly cuts to Syracuse running back Floyd Little as Ed announces University of Florida quarterback Steve Spurrier. Later in the show, to make up for the gaffe, Spurrier is invited back out on stage to take a bow.

    I guess, no publication in the South, or most other places, was voting Floyd Little, for the Heisman. As a result, ladies and gentlemen....."the old ball coach!"

    More importantly was Purdue's Bob Griese who is in Hall of Fame and was on the 1971,72,73 Miami Dolphins teams

      … unless you’re the only person who was a Heisman winner who also coached a national championship winner. That would be Spurrier.

      He sat for years behind QB John Brodie in SF before being traded to Tampa Bay, so what’s your point?

    • @davidbeiler7520
      @davidbeiler7520 Год назад

      @@sjenkins8468 Three years earlier SF had used the 15th draft pick to land George Mira (who really was from U. of Miami) as a replacement for Brodie, but seemed to only use him against Green Bay (when Brodie would usually turn up ill). Mira was still there when Spurrier was added, making the Heisman Trophy winner a third-stringer.
