Very impressive! I'm interested in making an electric powered hydrofoil surfboard and your video answered a lot of process questions I was unsure about. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Dan, that's why I made the video, so you're welcome. See the "DIY Windfoil part 4 -Tail". It contains a short video clip of the foam cutting.
I've been thinking of an electric powered foil as well. Seems a large project though. Please share you're results when you have them. Good luck!

I´ve just watched a masterpiece. Yes I compare what i´ve done with art, pure art...Congrat...BTW. Wan´t possible to cut the foil shape with bare hands? That would be simplier and less cost effective

Hi @Ron, thanks for sharing !
I am making a mast too, and hesitate between using 2 moulds, or using a XPS core cut with hot wire with profile NACA16012 chord 14.
The core one could make my strat in one shot, and with perfect bond on the front of the mast as it is the same tissue.
I saw you had cracks on the mast at this spot.
I am planning 3mm carbon with biax, 45 deg and 90deg.
Do you think the cracks came from the layers, or the bonding ?

Hi Florian, sorry for the late reply, I don't check the posts regularly. The cracks mainly came from me sanding through most of the lay-up on the nose of the profile, in an effort to get a smooth surface. Beginner mistake. See this video for the stronger mast: ruclips.net/video/56GQdOj4458/видео.html . The layup I used is shown in the video. Not sure what you mean with 3mm. As a laminate thickness on the thickest part, 3mm is more than enough. Mixing UD and 45deg is correct. Good to place some fine glass at the surface so you have something that sand easily and doesn't have to many pinholes. Good luck.

Looks strong. Why has it broken?

There was only one layer of diagonal fabric on the leading edge. That's not enough torsional strength. Also, the stiffening triangle on the interface to the fuselage caused a stress concentration. Loads in practical use can be very high, especially when you are learning and making clumsy crashes. I fell on the wing tip and twisted the mast to the point of delaminating the leading edge, then opening up the leading edge like a zipper. 3 layers of 200grms carbon and a plywood core solved the problem (Mast V2)
