My own personal fit for a salvaging ship that I've also never had capacitor issues with has been with a Catalyst and it's an extremely cheap fit at just under 3 million ISK. I use it to salvage all the time after I've done some ratting of those NPC pirates in asteroid belts in low sec, and my Catalyst has a good deal of cargo space for also picking up loot from the wrecks in addition to the salvage (which all adds up). My Catalyst has also worked in nullsec the few times I've done ratting there, though there's not a lot of systems with asteroid belts in Nullsec which is what I look for with ratting. The fitting is designed around a fast align time and being able to move around quickly to salvage and loot wrecks. It doesn't have cloaking, but anyone will be able to fly it even on an Alpha account. Its align time of under 3 seconds is its main form of defense against those who are hunting in Lowsec and Nullsec, and is an inexpensive loss if you happen to lose it. Here's the fit, which costs about 2.7 million ISK according to EVE's fitting calculations. *High Slots:* Salvager I x8 *Mid Slots:* 5mn Cold-Gas Enduring Microwarpdrive x1 (max velocity of about 1,600 m/s) Medium Compact Pb-Acid Cap Battery x1 *Low Slots:* Type-D Restrained Inertial Stabilizers x2 Type-D Restrained Nanofiber Structure x1 *Rigs:* Small Salvage Tackle I x2 Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I x1
Good video. I would add a trick for when using drones, if you set them to salvage without having a wreck targeted, they will then set off and salvage all wrecks in their range without you having to do anything. If you set them at a targeted wreck they will just salvage that wreck then await further instruction.

Plus not having a random dude in the corner is nice. thank you!
Thanks for making these guides, Ive been playing for yeats but want to jump back in. Lots of paths to take, and these videos help alot to "shake off the rust"
I commonly use a Cat w. 3xSalvagers and 4xSmall Tractor Beams. The Salvage Rigs make all of the difference. A lot of people in Null Belt rat and leave everything - Loot and Salvage. I'll ask if L&S is OK. If yes then I'll Start the process - In Serpentis Null the Loot is high dollar with Cruiser Interdiction Bubble Modules at 3 mill (or more) each. Noctis - while slow, is best and after you lean your lesson of always be aligned, you can loot and salvage a lot but also take out anything Battle Cruiser sized or less with it's drones. I also set jump points on every belt I operate in 330+ km from the belt. You covered only 25% - there's also "Hot Salvage." This involves looting and salvaging in the middle of a contested gate camp or on a AB containing rats. Atrons excel at hot salvage because of the de-cloak delay gives you enough time to warp on, loot, and split before they can decloak and target you.
So excellent advice and I'll be covering Got Salvage and drones later. Pre-aligning does nothing though of you're not moving. If you're stationary, you're aligned to every direction and will warp on your warp time. Pre-aligning only matters of you're also keeping positive velocity at what you're pointed at
Always salvage wrecks usually with T2 salvage drones or Dunk ones. Best day of salvage ever was Trig vs Federation Navy battlefield, only danger was Trigs respawning and pinning you there.
Dude, I just started getting into salvaging. What got me into it was, I was pissing around with my Navitas and went to a Serpentis hideout, and armor repaired some random pilot, and prior to warping off, giving me thanks, he left the salvage for me, which I did in my Atron, 'Nightgoblin'. Now I'm enjoying PVEing sites just for the salvage, and getting all sorts of weird and cool shit.
When I was living in nullsec, I had myself the big ol Noctis to salvage all the Havens both me and everyone else were running. It was a great fit for that specifically, both because of salvaging itself and big cargohold is a requirement because of all the 25/50m3 battleship modules
I play my character as a salvager: junk trader and find it provides a lot of content. I wreck anomalies and ded sites. Salvage the wrecks. And build stuff from the parts.
I think what would be cool to talk about how to find salvage sites. Maybe make a video about ninja salvaging or something like that. Years ago when I played eve I remember sneaking around systems with most ship kills running into a treasure cove of player wrecks (though it was quite rare so idk how viable that is).
