thanks man, yeah, the walk in the woods mood has many shades of emotion, these days I'm more attuned to stray dogs, I carry pepper spray, and might start carrying a hunting knife.
This is oddly quite melodic and after the drops like in 0:52, there's an almost choral aspect to it. Excellent piece aesthetic -wise and effective form!
The looped organ-like sound sets the mood, and this is reinforced by the edgy POV, thriller-style camerawork. The speeded up footage adds a lot to the feeling, too!! The sudden shift into a more breathy (breathless) sound, develops the tension. And the slower finale seems more traditional for this genre. Result - don't go out into the woods alone!!!! Great work, and good supportive balance between sound and image!! I'm hoping for a decent grade for this analysis (film school sure missed out on me!!!)
@@MalleableSound Of course, I have some pretty low-brow interests, e;g;, I'm currently reading a book on the direct to video film era from 1982 to 1995, called Analog Nightmares,.... nothing high-brow in here!, and i also read a book on the films of Donald Jackson, by his collaborator Scott Shaw, most of the content was taken from Jackson's web-page before he died.
@@loopbasedzero Yes, 'Analog Nightmares' does look a bit like a brain-drainer!! To be honest, though, scholarly books on horror are mainly a pain with impenetrable cultural studies jargon and trendy French philosophy!! I'm trying hard to find time to watch more art cinema from the 1950s-80s period. Not everybody's cup of tea I know, but it helps keep me sane!!!
@@MalleableSound You are absolutely right about these scholarly books, I think it comes down to a bunch of PhD's who want to slum in the low-brow culture but are too hypocritical to say so, so they have to wear the gloves of objectivity,........ geeez, i just expressed a very American sentiment!
Best listened to in a dark place, like in the trunk of a car next to a shovel while bound and gagged? The tension is certainly agonizing.
Thank you my friend!
love how organized this is overall, lots of structure 👏 dig the harmonics between the different instruments following the same melodic progression 🔥
Thank you Reconsiderate, yes, I kind of consider this method of "composing" like another genre in itself.
Great soundtrack and visuals. Yes I would agree it certainly has a degree of angst and a laden quality. 👏👏✨✨
Thank you Lunar.
Some serious “terror in the woods” action

@@loopbasedzero It's a stretch to call it good film analysis, but you got my drift!!!
