Did NOT even know. I thought cat grass was a special type of grass, not just a blend of different grass that’s safe for them to eat!! I love that!! Our apartment neighbor gifted us quite a large planter of cat grass for mitten bc they always see her hanging out in the window. I’m getting more so she can continue to enjoy. Thank you!
I have cat grass for my cats cause they were "killing" my pretty plants (that are all nontoxic but still) and i wanted them to have a plant that they could have and not get in trouble for eating. Plus its enrichment and i love giving them enrichment. I even grow some for my sisters rabbit (who loves it as well) and its been a big hit with them all
Grass helps cats expel hairballs, so if your cats are always trying to eat your plants (my cat was doing that as well), it might be because they're trying to get rid of a hairball.
Hello fellow cat-lovers. I have witnessed numerous occasions when my cats over the years eat grass and then spin in circles to induce vomiting in order to get rid of hairballs. I think that the sole reason why cats eat grass. Love the videos. Keep showing love for our furry friends.
I usually buy the seeds and then use some organic soil in a big bowl. It grows fine, but it ends up dying. I keep it watered, and keep it near a window, but it still dies and I have to start all over. Am I doing something wrong?
Hi Nina. I want to say thanks for the video I am also obsessed with cats. I just received the organic cat grass today. I started planting the soil and seeds I'm excited til it's fully grown. I don't know if I might have to buy more because I have 3 cats. Thanks for the video
My cats are outdoor/indoor cats, and one of them is sometimes puking. the vet said it's nothing serious just hairballs. And once I saw pieces of grass from outside in my cats puke. So does this cat grass triggers puking too? I'd like to have it inside, but if it triggers puking I'd probably set it outside for them. Because it is suppose to prevent cats from having hairballs, so it will help them puke or poop them then?
I allow my cats to have access to the cat grass for a monitored amount of time since excessive consumption could cause vomiting. I just put it on a shelf they can’t get to when I can’t slow them from chowing down. I haven’t had any issues with them puking. As for hair balls, the hairball treats or hair all formulated diet would be best at helping with passing hairballs through digestion vs vomiting them up
I personal trainer I follow said that fiber is great to add to human diets to increase protein metabolization, rather than some of it not being used by the body. This is important for anyone, especially people into fitness, but especially for vegetarians who may have difficulty getting enough protein. So logic dictates that cats being mammals may benefit from fiber for the same reason.
I do with mine because they only eat a few bites at a time. But many cats can’t help themselves and overdo it, then end up puking it up. So I would watch your cats with it the first few times to see their behavior with it.
Can you please tell me how often cat grass needs watering and how much water to give it? Should I spray it? Pour water directly in it? Or place it in a tray of water for a set amount of time? The cat grass I have is 6" x 3" and has no kind of care instructions aside from the initial 400ml watering.
I believe you can mist it when needed once it is grown. Misting will avoid overwatering and mould. At least this is what I am hearing. Hope that helps! 😊
Only decided to get this was because my Cat has always loved to eat eat grass and weeds. I’m sure it’s also because she lived outside. She’s been eating my mothers plants (not enough to harm her) but enough to make her throw up, as they are a type of ivy and one is a spider plant. My other one doesn’t care about eating plants lol.
Their rootballs are pretty big. Mine came w only peat moss but ideally you'd probably want rich, well draining soil. Plants are either perennial (live for years), annual (one season) or biennial (2-3 seasons) but they self seed so you don't need to worry about them. Good quality seeds should* last at least one season
I kept it in my kitchen at first, we don’t have much natural light in there, a bathroom could work too. For watering, I would touch the top of the soil and if it felt dry I would water.
I have a regular spray bottle that I can mist it with. However, cat grass is more like a sprout than a plant. So it usually only lasts 2 weeks for me before I need to soak another batch of seeds
@@badcatfamily I was curious about this too. I want to invest in getting the soil/seeds myself because it only lasts around a week each time and that's $5 down the drain again and again lol
@@uarebuttwhatami other tips would be to use a bigger planter to give the roots more room and to trim the blades of grass back a bit to keeps the tips from dying and ruining the rest of the blade
What brush would you recommend. My little fur baby is shedding everywhere . I've tried the glove the wide brush and that little wire brush that looks like a torture device. Lol
My cats are shedding like crazy this time of year too. My favorite is the slicker brush (which may be the one that looks like the torture device as you were describing. Which is hilarious because I think it looks crazy too but my cats love it). But if those don’t work for your cat, I’ve heard good things about the Furminator although I’ve never tried it. Good luck with shedding season! I’ve been busting out the vacuum every other day this month 🤣
I recommend making sure your cat doesn’t have access to toxic items. Some will eat toxic plants and more if given the opportunity. There is a whole poison control hotline for a reason. Cats very often make bad choices.
I’m glad it’s worked out for your cat by never getting poisoned. The Karen’s that live in my unit sprayed for bugs in the yard, planted toxic plants and now after eating the tip of a plant my cat has fits/ drools urinates on herself when these episodes occur. Finally stopped after a week and a few weeks later bought her a different brand of pet food that had plant based starch/ inulin and fit started again. Ok for a while and mrs got her catnip plant then she started drooling and had a fit. Cat owners who think drooling is cute or ok are retarted.
Be careful letting kitties eat plants you don't know what they are. Plants can be deadly even common ones! Leafy ones too! Referring to when u walk ur cat
Yes, excellent suggestion of catnip. Both cat grass and catnip are great cat enrichment with different benefits. I haven’t tried growing my own catnip yet, always have used dried, but that’s an excellent idea for a video. Thank you 😊
My wife and I grow catnip among other herbs and our cats really Love eating those Leafy greens!!😃 It's So Fun to watch them eat it, especially out of your hands!!😊
Why do my cats eat grass? Because they are crazy Seriously cats have an intuitive sense grass cleans their teeth, fiber in the diet, chewing on grass can decrease stress also 👍

Great vidio. Just bought a kit and found your vidio and it helped me with the setup. Looking forward to see how my cats will like it.
Yay that’s so fun! Enjoy 😊
Cats typically go after flat grass's because it's rough one way and grabs hair and things when they throw it up
Hey. Thank you for the fun to watch video. Do you know if Cat Grass attracts flea's?
Awesome! Your baby is beautiful!
Does the grass need to be watered after it grows up

I have a sister who lives in Pakistan and she’s having a hard time feeding her cats. I’m showing her cat grass!
aww I'm about to order this for my babies right now
Omg how beautiful is she...

Thanks so much!

Can it grow outdoors?
❤❤❤❤
My vet also said the texture! :) BTW where did you get the cat treadmill? I love and I wanna get one for my fur kids!
Good point, it is a very unique texture! I got my wheel from One Fast Cat online 😊
How long does the cat grass stay good? Does it dry out? How often do you replace it?
If you 'mist' the cat (wheat) grass every few days, it can last about 7-10 days. Usually, our cats have worn it down, by then! Good luck.

What warm dark area did you keep the grass? When do you start to water the grass?

Can I wrap the bowl? I don’t have a warm place to put it . HELP PLEASE! 😻
I have two black babyys looks just. Like your
Do you ever water it?
I would suggest either most it daily or add a small amount of water twice a week
Hair looks nice
Hi friend, nice content video and like it. Stay connected

how did you train your cat to walk on a leash
I have a video on training tips 😊

Can kittens eat it? Or what qge?
My tuxedo cat loves it
can 7 month out cats eat it safe
My cats tend to more frequently nibble on lemongrass instead..
Maybe they know what they're doing..

They eat it to help get hairballs up out

Hi Nina, love your kitty 😸
Thing is cats can smell anything that's on the plants, so if there's something they don't want to eat, they won't. They know best for themselves

Excellent advice! Too many horror stories of cats getting into toxic plants
My cat vomits everytime after eating grass.
I think its a coco peat, not soil.
Thank you 😊

You're like the cat lady but a hot version!
I bought my Cat, Cat grass.
Can humans eat catgrass?
Yes! Check what the mix of greens are in it to make sure, but many people add it to blended juices.
My cat doesn’t care for cat grass🤣
Are you a bad cat?
💜💚💙❤💛🌟✨👍
My cat is acting very funny after eating this grass, anyone else having similar issues??
What do you mean by funny and how much grass did they eat?
Too much unnecessary information in between he’s just talking way too much and not really telling us what cat grass does for the cat
Many words without saying a thing ……
