    They should probably move the race at the start of the season probably next to Canada so it will be reasonably hot

      You're probably right but I think next season it is after Brazil again so will be towards the end still 😬

      You would think they would do that from a logistical POV. That and to avoid football season on the weekends around this time of the year.

    The cold weather (even though it's going to be a bit warmer than expected) is going to be a shit show. Multiple Red Flags, Yellow Flags, Safety Cars and a LOT of damage. UNFORTUNATELY since I'm on the East Coast I'll be watching this on Sunday morning several hours after the race was run. SUCKS.

      It’s definitely looking more and more likely that the whole weekend will be chaos. Pirelli have even made a statement basically saying they tried there best to set up the tyres but they may still be tricky to get going 😅
      Yeah the timezone really doesn’t make sense to me

    I don't understand all the negativity about this GP. Why don't we wait and see, huh? If the novelty of the track and the lower temps reshuffle a bit the pecking order, that would be great. Especially if overtaking is relatively easy. In terms of overtaking, I doubt it will be worse than Monaco or Hungary.

    • @NotApplicableF1
      @NotApplicableF1  6 месяцев назад

      I agree we definitely have to wait and see. It could be incredible! But I think the negativity from locals is valid and should be addressed too

      @@NotApplicableF1 Racing on street circuits always inconvenience the locals. This is true for Monaco, Baku, Singapore, etc. Motorsport fans are okay with it, but I promise you, locals that aren't motorsports fans do not look forward to the Azerbaijan GP either.

    I feel like for safety sake they should really turn up the tire blankets. I remember hearing that they were told that they could not have the tire blankets, pasta, certain temperature, but I feel like for a circumstance like this. They need to have the heat in the tires with the tires ready to go for safety purposes due to the temperature being so significantly different from when they typically race in. I do think it’s going to be a very interesting race but I think it’s going to probably have at least one more likely multiple red flags and safety cars because if the tires don’t get up to temperature, someone could easily go sliding into a wall. Hopefully they’re allowed to turn up the tire blankets to try and get a bit more heat into the tires to make it a little bit safer. That being said, I have seen comments about how the pavement will have been cooking in the hot sun all day and how it won’t be that cool by then with that temperature drop I . do not see the track temp being very high when they go to race unfortunately. I’m basing my estimates on the truck temp off of how significant of a difference I’ve seen where I live from a hot summer day to the cooler summer nights, so it could be different in Las Vegas but more than likely it will cool down quite substantially before the race. That’s part of why I believe the best option for them is gonna be there turn up the tire blankets get extra heat in the tires and hope for the best still predicting a few red flags minimum one most likely multiple but I believe that’s to be expected on a new track. I also wouldn’t be surprised if we see a Fernando Alonso win this weekend because of his experience and the fact that I’ve seen multiple things saying that Max is unsure on it and he does not sound confident going into this, so it could be the Fernando win many have been hoping for.

    We had a colder race in 2020, I don’t remember exactly what round.
    Also the track temp is what matters most, and the track will have been baking in the desert sun all day. The coldest time in Vegas is right before sunrise, and this race takes place at 10PM so it’ll be warmer than the forecasted lows show, plus with the track warmer than that I don’t think it’ll be a major issue. If anything it would showcase driver strengths since they won’t all be temp limited the whole race. Plus it’ll help teams with high tyre wear, and Mercedes will have cool dense air which will alleviate some of their problems.
    I don’t understand the levels of negativity honestly, I’m mildly optimistic. If we have a bit of a jumbled order in qualifying (which is common at new street tracks), they will be able to overtake in the race and we should see some decent racing and a good show to go along.

      Both the Eifel GP at the Nürburgring and the Turkish GP were particularly cold for F1 standards that season. The Eifel GP had the colder air temperature between the two on race day (10 degrees as opposed to 11-14 degrees).

    Crazy thought: move the race to earlier in the day? Is that not permitted? Citizens are already being inconvenienced. Seems that someone is gonna end up in hospital or worse as conditions currently stand. Please move the times up or back to evening hours.
