Thank you. I leave mine FAR too long, but the hairdryer trick speeded up the process. I was worried about leaving frozen food for too long outside the freezer cabinet.

If you can, it's good "eat down" your food in the freezer over several days or a week so you'll have less to deal with when you get to defrosting

Thank you for this video. My mom passed away back in Jan 2018. I had helped her back in 2016 with the defrosting, but she had everything set up before I started helping her put the food away to keep cold. Could there possibly another way to attach a hose. I don't remember the hose being attached at the bottom where you said you can attach the hose?

Thanks for your video!👍🏻 My appliance guy says you need to let your freezer remain unplugged with the doors open for 72 hrs and then plugged back in 72 hrs before putting food back in it. Unless you have another freezer on hand- this would be impossible. Has anyone else heard of the 72 hr rule?

Towels make for excellent insulators - wrap frozen food with them to keep it frozen.

Good day Angela! Thanks for the great video! Is there a particular type of plastic tote to use in a freezer? Won't the plastic in a standard tote crack in the cold?

Use boil hot water on a container for each rack. Let it steams with door shut.
    It will melt very quickly.
Or use a heater, it will melt fast.

The date on the food dosen't matter as long as it's around 0 it's safe indefinitely... just looses flavor over long time...

Putting your frozen food in those plastic container will all be defrosted before your are ready. Not a good idea. Should have prechill the coolers before putting the frozen food in them so they would not defrost as quickly. Sorry you instructions are not what I would do. Not only that, when you put warm food into a thaw freezer, it take much more time to get to 0 degrees which means the food has all reach probably 50 degrees and freezing them again is not safe. Would not follow your method if you want safe food.

I think the frozen food keeps itself cold bc it’s already frozen. Especially when placed in those insulated coolers.
