If this were installed in an office building, the CEO would know every time a mail room employee in the basement washed their hands.
We'd also know when someone didn't wash their hands. Worth it.
Welcome to the "Jhair" marketing team
@@Pyth110 well thats easy, just have something that notify you when someone is about to go to the toilet
if the thing notify you but you didnt hear any jet engine in the next hour or so,someone didnt wash their hand
And it would boost productivity, as there's less time spent on drying your hands!
Simultaneously, the Jet Dryer functions as a competency test for new employees, and filters out the less nimble ones!
It even comes with the smell of roast beef! :D
building would go in orbit probably
I always find the devices like water fountains and hand dryers with cords really funny. It's like I can just take it off the wall and put it in my room, and bam! I can have my very own personal hand dryer right in my room! Thankfully I haven't let the intrusive thoughts win yet
Yet
You can mount anything to the wall in your room
@@JoelCreates not anything. or can you mount a fluid without a container around it to a wall?
@@LucyRoseLuna yes with enough jet engines to create a positive pressure vortex that holds the fluid suspended in mid air
@@itsthesola10 how didn't I consider this possibility?! How in the world could I forget about jet engines xD
I absolutely agree with you
i wish the hand dryers in the public bathrooms was even 1% of this power
yeah. xlerappies are so slow these days.
did you know hand dryers spread more germs onto your hands than if you had just not washed them, worth using papertowel or just waving them dry
@@unknown_10453 I just never use them because they take so long and always leave you still sorta wet
@@unknown_10453 Bro all those germs appear within 10 seconds anyway. Still way cleaner than before you wash your hands.
@@draxxsklounst6595 yeah the tried and true dry it on your pants still wins out 10/10
Man this whole project is totally youtube
Thank you
@@JoelCreates nah man thank you for making good content. the easy breezy hair scene had me laughing lol!
I remember back in my freshman year of high scchool, in the locker room restrooms they had a hand dryer, we would block the intake on the bottom of it with a book, wich got the heating element really hot on the inside, then we would quickly move the book away and then spray axe in the intake and a huge jet of fire would come out of the exhaust for a few seconds, haha good times
Haha nice.
“Haha good times”
Nearly committing arson 💀
Funny how the comment right above this one is complaining about how weak the hand dryers in public bathrooms are. I wonder why that might be...
@@jwhbos hell yea >:)
I think I have a good idea now...
Questionable choices make great hospital stories! I like how the dummy head looked to be in a perpetual state of being blown backward.
It still sounds quieter than the gas station hair dryiers
Let me get this straight, after you proved that it was not only effective, but was also a plausible illusion of safe to dry your hands with a jet engine, you were too cowardly to try it in the name of edutainment? Joel, apparently you don't have any cool friends, because cool friends would have taught you by now, all the lessons I've learned in my entire life that I can condense into a single sentence: *"Bad decisions make great stories".* Or in your case, videos. What's the worse that could happen? That a turbulent air stream would suddenly catch on your cuticles, ripe your fingernails off and send them tumbling down the asphalt like pringles escaped from their tubular prison? It's a risk your audience is willing for you to take! What am I even contributing on Patreon for if you don't want to be successful?
Also, when drilling anything hard, like stainless, the secret is high pressure, low speed. Consider the edge speed of a hole saw, compared to the edge speed on a 1/8" drill bit. You should be turning so slowly you could follow a dot around the saw edge and not lose track of it. Also, to have a fighting chance of cutting on an uneven surface, clamp a piece of plywood to it first, and then cut through the plywood and leave it there, it'll give you a shoulder keep the blade steady on. An old trick AvE taught me about sawing into uneven surfaces.
Thanks for the tip
This sort of thing does actually exist just way bigger race tracks use jet engines to dry them after rain so they can quickly get back to racing again if rain happens in the middle I've only ever seen them used in nascar but using two engines to dry things has happened before
I love the comedic moments and humore thrown into every video you do. It makes feel like its a documentary, a movie, a presentation, a project, all wrapped up in one video.
Keep up the good work Joel, your one of the best out there
Thanks Alec!
You're*
@@funnyyylock let's enjoy the moment without any grammar pls
What is 1lb of thrust?
A "pound of thrust" is equal to a force able to accelerate 1 pound of material 32 feet per second per second (32 feet per second per second happens to be equivalent to the acceleration provided by gravity).
Bro engine swapped the hand dryer 💀💀
You need Live Laugh Love style merch that describe the Brayton cycle
Compression
Combustion
Expansion
Live Laugh Love but for engineers
*I want one*
I'm reminded of the time I was pressed into unloading a jet with no ground crew training other than, "don't step beyond that line, or the engine will suck you in."
3:58 It's so strange seeing Joel without his ushanka.
i love the shop guy, more videos with him! lol
David is awesome!
As a young sailor in the navy sitting out in the Pacific Ocean in the winter I would stick my hands in the exhaust of a F18 to warm them up a little.
Definitely a certified RUclips moment! Although a bit of a spire...
"and that's when the intrusive thoughts started to win"
Now that is nice. You have no idea how much I hate washing my hair because it always takes an hour to dry it with average hair dryers. (Precious time I could spend on my computer on RUclips). A hair dryer made of a RC-plane jet engine is finally the solution for this problem!
Huh interesting… why not just use a nuclear engine
OF COURSE YOU DID
I feel like the handheld jet idea needs to be expanded upon. Give it something like a gun stock and better handle so you can brace it better and see what kind of chaos you can cause with a portable wind cannon.
Joel, you should absolutely build a jet pack setup to use with roller blades, or have you seen the roller buggy guy? With wheels all over? Absolutely wild stuff.
Thanks for the kickass video!
How about crazy rocketman?
Good idea
The biggest anxiety is when you are drying your hands out in the public and you feel like it's taking a lot of time and everybody's staring at you.
It's weird that hand dryers are even a thing. Like we all know they accomplish nothing, and the resources used to make and power them are being totally wasted, but we keep doing it. We are all just pretending the emporer has clothes
mom: did you wash your hands?
me: *shows my hands with the new Jhair handdryer*
5:10 Yeah, that's definitely the fastest moving hand dryer I've seen. The title checks out.
next video: i turned my fridge into a fully functional automobile
Damn man. These are awesome. I’m definitely a “fan”
A turbofan, if you will
@@StuffandThings_ damn straight
Lol good one
That's pretty cool! I like the ingenuity it took to make that hand and hair dryer.
This is absolutely absurd and I love it.
The jet buggy was WAY more dangerous than flicking your hand in front of the dryer! Scientific progress must be made!!
Superb! Hmmm, I've got an extra jet engine laying around... what could I possibly do with it? lol
Incredible video, this is going to be popular lol good ideas, makes good content. Thanks Joel!
8:14 Like testing some kind of dangerous superweapon...
But instead it's supposed to be a hair dryer...
Seems dangerous... I'll take one
If you used a high bypass turbofan engine instead of a jet engine than you would probably have better results. Just because they don’t blow such hot air. Idk if they even make tiny high by pass turbofan engines though.
0:52 Intrusive thoughts can't win. They're intrusive. Like envisioning yourself doing horrible things to a loved one, or hurting yourself, or something. "I want to make a jet engine hand dryer" isn't an intrusive thought. It's just an impulsive thought.
I'm just saying this because I've seen this phrase starting to circulate a lot and it is going to be harmful for people with ocd because it makes it seem like an intrusive thought is more of a mundane thing, and that one can win. So when people with ocd talk about their actual intrusive thoughts which can be really horrible and distressing, instead of being taken as _intrusive_ , there's this feeling that this person is _dangerous_ because they have this kind of thought and because there's a possibility of it "winning"
Congratulations, you just made SCP-313.
Yooo another banger!
Same reason you never spin up bearings with air. Ever see one grenade? You don't want to because it means someone was seriously injured or dead. A guy lost a nut doing this. Another guy lost a nut standing on a flailing bubbled airline trying to catch it. Mashed it to putty in about 30 hits with the broken end in less than a second.
You normally can tell if a hand dryer is good or bad. If it’s those ones without that silver nozzle sticking out it’s probably good . Also those dyson ones are pretty good. I find them most common in movie theaters off my experience
By good do you mean good at spreading bacteria all over your hands? XD
Imagine the hours of company time youve saved with this ingenious product 🔥
love your vids dude
this product works so well that you will never have to worry about drying yourself. As you will be dead
I mean considering that gas turbines are a pretty popular way of generating electricity (especially with moves towards more efficient use of fossil fuels and dual cycle power plants), many hand dryers basically _are_ running on a jet engine of sorts... just with a bunch of energy conversions and transportation along wires in between the two. Kinda a fun thought.
This is so youtube! I absolutely love it!
maybe at 8:00, that's what they use to make fake wind for hair commercials 😅
You know it’s a good day when Joel uploads! This gives me an idea. Why don’t you make a leaf blower out of a jet engine? Or make your minecart train jet powered? That would be pretty cool!
Jet exhaust has a lot of water vapor from the combustion. That doesn't lead to good drying. Most of the drying effect is from pushing the water off vs. evaporation.
Still trying to figure out why dapz had a turbine engine to lend to you?
More like evaporater including 70% of you
Excellent!
Now make literal jet-puffed marshmallows.
Who's baked af rn
I am. I’m eating takis
Now make a hand dryer powered jet engine
i love how your content is gradually turning into slapping jet engines on stuff.
…i wanna try it.
Bro bought a fake knockoff Xlerator
Your now in the loophole of patent infringement hand dryers
Please tell me where you got the hat I need one like oxygen.
This is so dangerously silly! I love it! I wonder if Joel could attach the jet engine on a paper or remote controlled plane to see how far it could fly. You can't test it in a parking spot tho'. Just writing.
You should get a jet engine and attach it to the minecart
Bruh,this ain't hand dryer it's hand fryer 💀
The Jhair ad was great!
xD
You should add an after burner to this for extra _hot air_
“It’s just a bathroom prank bro.”
The prank: **jet engine hand dryer gives man 3rd degree burns on his hands while screaming in agony**
"je pense que j'ai une acouphene" hahaha love that
I never managed to dry my hands completely using a hand dryer, how did you do that?
So I guess SCP-313 is real now
the delivery of "into the danger zone" thats what got you a like...
Where can I buy one?
What is it you just drive I don’t know to try mega mini copter they can only fit one person pray play Ross in UC was a mini copy😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Happiest of birthdays to you!!! God bless you and your family always. At 33 is when I felt
Like I was a true adult lol. I’m now 36. Anyway, enjoy!!
I would buy it. Btw great build Joel!
I love how every experiment starts out with why not hahaha
Nothing is worse than one of those 25 year old hand dryers being the only way to dry your hands because none of the gas stations stock paper towels anymore (except for the big chains, QuikTrip, Bucees etc.)
You stand there for over a minute trying to get the water off your hands, and they’re so weak it feels like your Vietnam vet grandpa is blowing onto your hands. You leave the bathroom disgusted and defeated, and nonchalantly wipe your hands off on the back of your jeans.
Seems like something backyard scientist would build
good vídeo cool loooool
Hi from Brooke's Point Palawan, Philippines,Try turboprop/turboshaft and instead propeller on the shaft of the power turbine put a centrifugal compressor and modified it to draw a little bit of heat from the exhaust nozzle.
“If you rubbed your cheek on one, it’d feel like standing outside with the sun shining on your face~ It’d also set your hair on fire, so don’t actually do that.” -GLaDOS
How many people have this machine in their houses?? Who cares!!!
meanwhile people made videos standing behind literal huge ass Jet Engines.
just noticed RUclips randomly unsubscribed me :(
well i get to re-sub!
Perhaps you could do a jet powered clothes drying line. Put waiting on your dryer in the past 😅
Imagine the same video but with battery powered chainsaws, it would be trash
Too hot to safely use as a hand dryer - need to dilute the exhaust with cold air. Sounds like an application for the world's smallest medium-bypass turbofan!
Nahhh your worried about your hand dryer getting poop particles on your hands when you dry them? I'm worried about my hands getting blown off when I dry them.
**OSHA has entered the chat**
Amazing content Joel!
i would have passed my hands by the jet engine hand dryer but you do you i still subbed although i wish u tested it
as a french, i judge your french accent fairly, and it sucks, nothing personal of course
im jocking, your super cool as well as the video !
The actual jet gun, from BlackOps 2 zombies. And it is just as terrible to use too.😂😂
W vid
Dude, this is very smart, now every one will know that you washed your hands
I was going to write a pun here, but my ideas have dried up.
What are you connected to like a gun and then you like a bullet and then when you shoot it it like flies like 100 mph more than it supposed to it would be like a straight kill on. You could like destroy a fighter jet
The reason it didn’t burn when you were swiping it was thermal conductivity and transfer even with a real lightsaber won’t hurt you if you swing your hand fast enough
More like the fastest way to get sent to A&E with major burns.
