As far as I'm aware the actual music system for the game is far more complex than just switching between calm and combat. Sad that only basic dynamic music will be featured in the remake.
Well, there is also the "alarm siren" overlay when you loose a lot of health (0:51 in the video). And the weird creepy sound overlay (e.g. 0:12 and 0:32), i think that one happens when there is a enemy nearby but not on screen.
It is sad that they put so much effort into subtly that even people who are quite aware of music in games still have a hard time picking up on the subtle differences and evolving music they designed for this game how it changes based on shoden's control level and danger level, mandalore gaming didn't even notice it at all in his original review until a dev told him about it they put so much effort into it too
0:17 There's a weird distorted squeaky noise (beep boop BEEP boop beep BEEP) that plays when robots or cyborgs are nearby 0:53 The alarm sound (weo weo weo weo weo) plays for a short while if your total HP bar falls below 50% if I recall correctly, and stays on when you're critically low on health until you heal 0:25 is the sound that higher level enemy cyborgs make (sounds like they're saying I WONDER IF THERE'S ANYONE THERE in a distorted robotic voice) when they're idle and talking. All of them except for cyborg drones (lowest tier cyborg) make that noise 0:00 is the sound that cyborg drones make (YO MEMMO O MEMMO) when they're idle and talking
@@thomasmacdonough288 It is a very cool game, I highly recommend checking it out. It's a classic, my biggest gripe with the new remake release is the music, everything else is pretty similar.
Yeah of course it does, it was always a feature in the game that very few noticed unfortunately which is why they went all out on a bombastic OST for the sequel lol
The problem is that combats rarely last long enough to actually get to the exciting part of the soundtrack...
i can never get enough of this track

you can see the changes of state during combat in the video

@@VirtualMachineAtYT It seems like it's just for mechanical enemies, like cyborgs and robots.
@@GlareanLiebertine It is, mutants have a different sound

i wish i knew what you guys are hearing in this, like i can listen to chip tunes and keygen tunes but this is just so abstract

I've never seen System Shock 1 before this but it looks cool as hell
@@Gameprojordan You forgot to mention that in 0:25 the music also smoothly transitions into the combat segment

i never noticed it damn
does it work on the enhanced edition ?
Yeah it should work.
It did when I played
