      I absolutely agree with you. But have you heard Vinny Paul Abbott of Pantera? He was the king of drums 15 years in a row until he passed away. After that Joey Jordison took the crown.

    • @godofredo0409
      @godofredo0409 2 года назад +3

      one of the fastest? There are tons of drummers that plays super fast and technical than Joey. I feel like, if he indulged more into death metal he would developed more technique that can help him to become a more potent drummer.(If he learned heel-toe technique and Swivel technique.) Joey is just using a regular heel up double bass technique.but oh well, Joey is a respectable drummer no doubt about it.

    I got into Slipknot when I was about 12 years old (I'm 30 now) and they were my gateway into heavy music in general. They were also my first metal show as a teenager when Paul and Joey were both still in the band. Not only was I a huge Slipknot fan growing up, but I was also a fan of Joey's other band Murderdolls (which he played guitar). I'm not the type of person to get emotional over celebrities or famous people, but when I heard about Joey it absolutely crushed me. I don't think I'd be listening to some of the heavier, more extreme music that I listen to now if it wasn't for him.

      @@carole7538 I feel very lucky I got to see them live when I did. I was still in high school at the time, my dad and one of his friends took me and my high school best friend to see them. It was a year or two before Paul passed away. It's a great, but bittersweet memory for me.

    RIP Joey. Joe wasnt just quick, he had incredible groove that would let the music breathe which is sort of rare in this genera. He changed metal drumming forever when slipknot hit the scene. He had great instincts about how to compliment the music instead of just blasting into oblivion. They broke the mold when they made Joey.

    As a drummer myself he was not only a big influence on me, but I was always impressed how he played in that mask and like jumpsuits or at least full clothing so much. I play in shorts and a tshirt and I'm sweating after a couple songs lol. Always such a fun drummer to watch too. Tons of energy

    I was able to see Joey Jordison perform with Slipnot 4 times and also with Korn and Rob Zombie. He is my all time favorite drummer and was amazing to watch every time!

    Another fun fact is that Joey was mainly self taught. I remember reading that he had taken some lessons here (Jazz drumming lessons being one) and there but for the most part taught himself.

    Love your shirt my dear. My wife has the same sense of humour and also love your shirt too! Showed her this vid just for your shirt and she kept watching the whole vid being amazed at Jordinson’s drumming. So THIS is one of your idols that you can’t stop bragging about eh? Okay. Now I believe you she says lmao 🤷🏻‍♂️ what can I say. My woman that I’ve been blessed to be sent to me by my Creator to be my partner. When I say “mine” or “my” woman I don’t mean it disrespectfully in an ownership way either. Just to be clear. Anyways. Great vid! Great shirt. Great reaction! Peace ✌🏽

    That’s Joey. R.I.P. he always performed better than he thought he could. He always had the passion to push that extra bit and make his drumming a stand out more than normal. Incredible talent.

    Me about 1 minute in: "Aileen! Aileen! Remember to breathe, Aileen!" :D We've all been there. Slipknot at their best has that effect on people.
    It's so much fun to watch you react to old Slipknot. With Rammstein and Zeit, it was a lot of fun to kind of discover that album alongside you. Yeah, I'd listened through it a couple of times but you were still so on the ball that it was a very fresh experience for me. However, with the songs off Iowa, well, I grew up on them. I was 14-ish when it was released and it was one of my first forays into heavier music. I still think Iowa is one of the best metal albums out there. It's just...insane. In the best way possible. It's a masterpiece, and it's such a completely different experience seeing you react to that compared to something that I'm going in relatively blind to myself.
    Both are very fun experiences. But very, very different.
    And yeah, Joey was insane. He's the kind of drummer who, if you air drum alongside him, your neighbors will still fucking hear you. This is an amazing video and the only thing I don't really like about it is that it takes one's focus away from the other band members, who are also delivering a masterpiece as well. It's such an amazing song from each and every one of them. I LOOOOOOOOVE the guitars in this song. But then again, it's really cool to see a video focusing on Joey so I'll allow it. :)

    I've been binge watching Slipknot videos ever since I went to see one of their live shows. I've only really gotten into them in the last year, but it's been a difficult year for me, especially with the passing of my brother a month ago. They've been my escape as of late any time I'm having a bad day they're who I listen to
