The dropped floor in the sleeping loft is brilliant. Great design and layout.

Agree! This is the detail that made this design livable for me. A shorter ceiling and extra windows is a great compromise to get more height to stand up and get dressed. LOL

I am 5ft8, I could drop it even more. :)) But then again, the current measurements would suffice either way.

@@davidchandler6885 Yeah I saw a design that Bryce could stand up in and I loved it! But I think it is a brilliant idea for them. Actually I saw a design where the loft was above the bathroom and the entry part was not only dropped but had a closet at the end. This also allowed for a large bathroom.

Love what she said..."you build a tiny house not for resale value or somebody else, but for you! the people who are going to live in it." Brilliant! Every, single thing I remodel or add in my sticks and bricks foundation house is heavily considered with permits and resale value, regulations, red tape, etc. etc. Yech! I would sooooo prefer to just build for ME. Wow, what a concept! haha I'm going tiny...

    • @biggest23
      @biggest23 7 лет назад +15

Yep, that's spot on. When I was working in the UK, the TV was bloated with a number of tedious series on redoing houses and it was just an endless parade of experts promoting generic design to assist in resale. Absolutely nothing of the owners character was revealed and they lived like visitors in their own dwellings. Slaves to the market.

Bryce!! This is, without a doubt, the absolute best episode of Living Big to date! Not only is this the most phenomenal Tiny House design and execution and couple for that matter, but your hosting and interview style is so natural and authentically charming. Making these shows has given you the best experiential education and polish.
I cannot wait to show my husband this particular episode so can understand and get excited by what living in a Tiny Home could be. And This couple was initially inspired to it by your show as well! Unreal.

I've been researching tiny houses for over a year now. This is by far the best one I've seen. I like the idea of 10 feet wide. Just gives it that extra space to not have it feel quite so tiny or cramped. Love the look of the climbing wall but I'm afraid I would never make it up there using that. Lol

Sometimes I feel all the pull outs and puzzle pieces to make a tiny home work are cumbersome. It’s nice to not have to pull out the bed or push it in to eat dinner... Thanks bryce for your videos.I actuallg watch them whenever I need to be reminded that, despite all the bad things that happen in our world due to the obsession for money, there are still nice people around who actually do things more responsibly and with non- material values in mind

I'm so happy to see other people have the same ideas I had: dropping down the loft floor beside the bed is the best way not to have to crawle into your bed! And these fifty centimeters added in the width really change the whole aspect of the tiny house.
Great job! I think it will be easy to sell this one.

Love this! These two really put a lot of thought and penalization into this. The "Kiwi Touch" needs to come to the States.

Love It!! I would have to go something similar. The Aussie and Kiwi needs that open space and connection to the outdoors.

What a cute couple!! With a GORGEOUS chocolate dog!❤️🐕❤️
The faerie light chandelier is so cute. The place looks tiny outside but is huge inside, and so beautifully done you feel like you are in a full-size house.
Being 5', arthritic & almost 63, there is no way l can do ladders or climbing walls, but omg how gorgeous & well laid out is this place with 2 lofts & full bath?!! And that outdoor deck is absolutely beautiful.
I wish them a happy life with their future family additions!👍🏻😄🐾🌈☮️🇨🇦

it's so brilliant that they were able to create almost 2 bedrooms, full size restroom and a full size kitchen. This is amazing design!

Great to see you again Bryce ☺
Lovely TH - I could easily see myself in this one, find it hard to understand why they wouldn't consider raising a young child in it tho - where there's a will... but that's just my P.O.V

What an awesome space. If I were to live in a Tiny House, that open plan vibe with all of the windows and large doors would definitely be my dream. It blurs the boundary between outdoors and indoors. I love that :)

Has anyone tried putting RV style "slide outs" on a tiny house like american RV's have?
It would give more space in living etc areas yet allow the slide to come in for transporting?

A great build and very open and uncluttered - sorry to see them sell but I'm sure the new owners will appreciate all the hard work that went into it - good luck on their next adventure of building a family - which is much harder than building that lovely home and one you can't walk away from as it is for life - thanks for sharing
