Storm sweater is actually pretty easy - it's just knits and purls. And it's definitely more fun than plain stockinette and it goes quite fast. 🙂

Highly recommend the storm sweater! Knitted it for my ex in the winter and strongly considering knitting it again this winter for me

Yeah! Knitters seem to love it. I definitely want to knit it !

You can TOTALLY do a colorwork for your first sweater. You seem super motivated, and that’s what makes all the difference! A colorwork sweater by Jennifer Steingass was my second sweater, after a kids sweater and a colorwork hat fail. Still my fav sweater. If you want it enough and you’re ready for the process, you’ll be MORE than fine. You’ve got it, for sure. 🎉

Hey Cheek, cool podcast thanks. Yes the Trove is mosaic - one colour at a time....Kaci's Kal then perhaps 🥰

My first sweater was a heavily cabled one. Texture is even easier. Just pick the sweater you will wear, whichever one it is, simple or complex.

Donegal is the stuff they add to make it look like Donegal tweed (i.e. those flecks of other colors). It's a nylon mesh with neps that can be spun with other things. They don't tend to specify beyond "Donegal" because they know people are looking for natural fibers and the nylon is a turnoff.

The darling cardigan would be so so soft with the juniper farm saxony but could also see it looking so good knitted up for Sweater No. 18. Also can I say your neutral color palette for color-work is a dream!!

Girl! You can do color work! No need to be scared. I think I did a giant colorwork swancho as only my 2nd sweater to knit. Cardigans are harder imo.
And I’m about to start the Stornoway Sweater as well as a different project with the #mosaicmadnesskal 😊 we are on the same wavelength!!! Happy knitting to you my new friend 😁

I still have the Darling Cardigan on my list - I think that Juniper Moon Farms yarn would be fab for it. Maybe give a look to Andrea Mowry colorwork sweaters? She uses a lot of sport weight yarn and most all of her designs are cropped. Maybe Alpenglow, which includes mosaic and stranded colorwork.

The first sweater I ever knit was the storm sweater and it was really enjoyable. I think the knit-purl patterns would add nice interest when knitting a few similar colored sweaters back to back 😊

I think you could do the sweater 18, as you have made gauge for it, but add in your own darker stripes - taking inspiration from the other sweater you mentioned - I don’t think that would be too difficult a mod????

I get so excited every time I see a new video from you! 🥰🌷💗 even though we are headed into spring down in Australia I was still so excited to see all your fall knitting plans! I love to see other knitters project queues and stashes. and thank you for normalizing changing your plans 100 times for your stash yarns, my plans change so much from when I buy the yarn to when I cast it on 😅
btw the storm sweater is so fun & quick. I only knit the junior size but I kept saying “just one more section…” and then it was done - definitely interested in making one for myself too now! I also prefer the drop shoulder construction & it was really sweater beginner friendly!!

Yes it’s definitely okay to change your mind as many times as you need to to find the perfect project for your yarn!
Everyone seems to love the storm sweater! I think it may be the winner 🏆

I like the sweater 18 for your aran weight sweater, the front porch sweater for the dk weight sweater, the trove sweater for your colorwork, and the soft and cushy hat. They all seem so perfect for your stash. The solo scarf and the Harlow hat should be fun too! I'm excited to join the mosaic mayhem KAL as well. I think I'm going to make the mosaic carpet project bag by Marie Wallin for mine. I hope you have a beautiful trip to Greece!❤🧶
