Wonderful kiln opening!!! The combinations are really lovely. I think the green clay looks good on all your pieces, it looks olive green on the screen. I also love all you bowls/ platters especially the altered one with the manganese wash. Looking forward to the next video ❤️❤️

Not iron but zinc. A clear with zinc can make colors muddy. Only on chroom pinks it is a good idea to use a clear with zinc since it makes it even more pink. Anyway, over a green color don't use a zinc based clear. Unless you want brown 😂
Hahaha seriously 😂 I have probably hundreds of their glazes!! But I’m also starting to use Mayco and Spectrum. I mean I NEED new glazes every few months because the 100 or so that I have just isn’t enough 😂
Not sure what stains you are using for your colouring of your clay but I have had great results with stains from US pigments and their greens do not turn brown they are gorgeous along with their bright reds etc
Thank you so much for this!!! Can you tell me the names of the greens and reds you use from US pigments and I will try them. Do you also fire to a cone 6? Thank you so much!!!
So many beautiful pieces! To bad the green colored clay turned out different than you expected. I still liked them! If one doesn't know it should have been green they are pretty. Did you use Mason stains? I use them a lot in my slips and some colors just don't like Cone 6. 😪 Happy potting!
Thank you!!!! Lol I had to put the green ones away and then I revisited them again and now I like them 😂 only because my friend told me they are amazing and look like biology 😂 yes, I use mason stains and read that certain greens turn brown soooooooo I will have to just keep testing greens if I want to use them lol. I would love to hear your experience about your colored slips and cone 6! What do you fire them to? 😘
@@thehappyhomesteadnh Lol, there's nothing wrong with a beautiful brown as long as you don't know it is supposed to be green right? 😄 I have a nice gray that is supposed to be purple, lol. Greens, some red and pinks are a pain in the b... at Cone 6. I fire at cone 6 too. I have found that Dark Teal, Fiorentin and Jade work fine but they are all dark greens. I make lighter greens myself by mixing blues and yellows. Takes some testing though! 😏
@@cindyl542 great question!! I use little stilts - they come in different sizes. They are triangular with little pins sticking up on the 3 points of the triangle.
