It’s weapons like this that need one thing in particular to set it apart from others - in PvP.
And that’s flinch reduction. And flinch distribution. If this weapon just hit slightly harder in the flinch department; it would be fantastic in its support role. It doesn’t need a faster TTK. It just needs to mess your opponents aim up more.

I wouldn't necessarily say that something with a .87 ttk is "much slower" than something with a .8 or even .67. With bungie's spaghetti code that just means you're going to be trading kills. A lot. With how bad the lag is in crossplay between consoles it almost doesn't matter how fast the ttk is most the time (at least it feels like that).
Take a shot everytime someone with no understanding of network engineering or game development says “spaghetti code”

Because this gun has great flinch resist and a fairly easy yet slow TTK because of how it handles, I recommend High Caliber rounds. You’re not hurting for stability anyway, and you can get that from barrel and masterwork options (or 3rd trait column)…not to mention omolon fluid.
I think High Caliber is a great way to secure wins in duels, forcing the opponent to miss their more unforgiving optimal ttk
Glad to know I’m not going to miss out if I don’t grind a good roll. Just need one for the collections completion.

Saint 14 rank up is bugged for myself and a bunch of others on bungie help... Can't claim this despite being rank 11. Others are 17 and can't get this or aisha. Hopefully they get this fixed before a double rep weekend

It will probably get a buff eventually that reduces its TTK to something more competitive, but until then Elsie's Rifle and Red Death will destroy it.
I don't think so 0.87 already is a quite good and competitive time to kill. Yes those hard hitting slow firing pulse rifles have a little bit faster time to kill but after those the 0.87 is pretty much the next best thing in line with the best most popular handcannons in the game and TV forgot to mention that the third most meta weapons with the most kills in PvP on the chart that he showed was Igneous Hammer and that weapon has a way slower time to kill with a full second.
How's the flinch (especially with high cal rounds) for this family of pulses?
Under Pressure with Headseeker has been putting in work for me. But Rapid Fire Pulses are still my favorite.

It feels absolutely amazing. It practically hands out headshots. But the rpm means the TTK just isn't competitive at all.
For example, that duel with the Fang that you lost. I've got a roll of that with Precision Instrument on it. That drops it to a 4 crit, .7 sec TTK. So long range is being outdone by a scout.
I can't use any other 260, each 4 tap is just chef's kiss
desperado is my favourite on this thing. my biggest problem with it was people having time to move away, with desperado they don't have that at all
I mostly agree with your assessment on the new pulse rifle. The thing that needs to be said is that while the optimal ttk may seem to be slower than other weapon types, we have to look at the chances of getting to that ttk. You mentioned that some ARs have lower TTk. Well, how many bullets do you need to hit crits with to get to that ttk? 6 bullets? If you're an aimbot, perhaps this will be an easy task. Most players can't even keep their sights on target for more than a split second. If it takes 6 AR bullets to get to the optimal ttk, maybe an average player can only get 3 of those 6 to the head. Maybe. Same with other pulse rifles with 3 or 4 burst spreads. With Aisha's Care, we're talking about 2 bullets per burst. With this weapon so stable, the chances of getting those 2 bullet crit shots is higher. My 2 cents.
I got a perfect Keep Away Desperado roll just waiting for when they (hopefully) buff this archetype.
ok glad to know it wasn't just me. played a bunch this weekend as well, and it just didnt seem better than other guns i usually use including other pulse rifles
I’m gonna use the adept to round out my full strand build with tessellation and cataphract. Slice and threadling for PvE and PvP.
Kinda relieved its not another " gotta have, S+ tier" trials gun.

I was testing out a few of rolls of this the other night, and i'll admit it's not the most smooth pulse out there (honestly this pulse makes *Jurassic Green* feel smoother by comparison).
I did have better luck wirh it once i started to try jacking up the range to try and up it's stickiness, but most things will likely outshoot you. It is fun if you want something different in the Kinetic slot, but i wouldn't be using this over my Psi Hermetic in a serious setting.

Man…kind of upset with this pulse family now. I was actually hyped for it, but with the TTK being so slow I am not sure if I will try to farm it. Just sucks when we get new weapons and they are just mid in PvP. Is what it is I guess. Maybe they will get an update later down the road.
Sometimes the most mid guns end up becoming the most fun to use, just like the prophet last season
@@ricardooliva8916 to be fair, the prophet also gets some straight up silly rolls. to the point that part of me aches over timeworn wayfarer not having access to kill clip. it would have felt *SOOO* good to have heal/kill clip on the first 120 scout to have such a nice, clean sight

Keep away is great. You don't think slice is the play though? To increase peoples TTK, and use a damage perk to lower your TTK. That's my 2 cents.

You're basically slowing down the pronunciation by emphasizing both vowels. Unless you mean you're saying it like the actual letters A and E, in which case yeah TV is saying it right.

I get the impression this is for those that like Scouts but don't want or need the 70ish meter range.
You mention not liking Zen Moment on it - I don't like it on anything, either because I play with particularly high sensitivity or I just know it's visual, I know it's a placebo.
Zen Moment isn't just placebo though, it has absurd stat bumps that you get from just landing your shots. Not liking the way it feels is just fine though. personally I run max sens and it's one of the best perks to run on almost anything that fires faster than 200 rpm.
@@Zevox144 - there is a visual kick reduction from it, but on a pulse for example it doesn't tighten the burst like stability does, it only reduces the visual kick; that does nothing for me.
The new AR from comp, the Riposte, can have Zen Moment or Tap The Trigger; I don't notice Zen Moment doing anything by comparison, TTT is doing far more.
@@MGShadow1989 idk why I said it like it has multiple legitimate stat bumps earlier, i think trials fried my brain, that being said I do believe zen moment on this pulse archetype isn't as valuable when its primary benefit is flinch reduction, and the frame already has that baked in. The other stats are visual, true, but on weapons where not landing every shot in the burst is a ttk shift like high impact pulses, not being thrown off target is quite important. But on the new heavy burst pulses, again zen is less valuable because direct confrontation is typically less than favorable, like on a 120/burst hc.
And you are absolutely right that ttt does more, especially on a gun where its ttk just fits into the trait's activation period, or is just outside it like riposte's.
Personally I was grinding for under pressure for the stability bump to be maintained on both ends of the mag on the pulse, and for riposte I'm gunning for ttt/dsr because it's a combo that's never let me down and still to an extent reduces flinch thanks to their stability bumps, but zen moment would do that particular job better.
@@Zevox144 - I've used Zen Moment on a bunch of weapons fairly recently, Elsie's for example; I found a lot more value in Keep Away than Zen Moment.
Maybe it'd be good alongside Desperado but with Headseeker I noticed no difference from Zen Moment.
I have it on Midnight Coup, prefer the one with Opening Shot.
I had it on Syncopation that was my first crafted weapon, used it a lot in PvP; prefer Moving Target.
I wanted TTT & DSR on Riposte because I have it on the Ikelos I crafted and really like it, such a consistent nice feeling combo.
@@MGShadow1989zen moment helps with recoil not stability. Helps mostly with flinch from other weapons. Get benefits in stability if you in enhance the perk.
zen moment one best perks on pulse rifle’s. Yet realize this pulse rifle has insane range but lacks higher stability. So want build on flinch reduction as stability masterwork and zen moment, origin perk help. From experience so far it’s type weapon requires player know his effect range and his opponents. Meaning it’s not type weapon for stupid players. As requires more thought into actual gun fight. Reason because in mid ground against most opponents. As can out range them or need stay close if can’t out range them.
I like how consistantly some people are hating on it saying "but ttk is slower, others are better".
120 HC ttk is a flat 1 second.
Are you saying that 120 HC are bad? No. Ya´ll who hate it play with the heavy burst pulses like it´s a full auto weapon standing in the open and then complain about being outdueld.
I use it this archatype like a hand cannon and peak shoot and it thunderslaps major ass.
Ontop of it, insane range and excessive stability. It doesn´t move, it has amazing base recoil, peakshooting is amazing with it.
If you only focus on ttk then why is not everyone using the weapons with the fastest ttk constantly? Because obviously, combat in destiny is not 2 people standing with muskets across eachother in perfect ranges and just shoot on countdown and whoever has fastest ttk wins.
You move, you peakshoot, you teamshoot, you use abilities, you do all kinds of things. I don´t know how people shill for 120 HC which have the worst ttk in the game but say that this pulse is bad because of the ttk?

Igneous hammer is an anomaly, but the thing that sets it apart is it's combination of forgiveness, peek shot potential, and aim assist/accuracy. No other 1 second TTK weapons have that winning combo. Igneous can be accurate with a mobile playstyle as well. Aisha's going toe to toe in Trials against a good Ingeous hunter is going to get absolutely and brutally thrashed.

@@vulkarma741 Crimil's Dagger (IB) and Something New (Solstice event) are in the Kinetic slot and are being refreshed later this episode. Both got stat bumps that while still make them worse than Igneous on paper, may swings things to broaden the pool of 120 HCs beyond Igneous.

I squint it looks like an omolon gun reskin. blast furnace sucked for me also. I ended up pulling out Bygones, red death though, might have to try it out now.
all of the trials guns are reskins or destiny 1 guns. Minus igneous hammer

The guns sticks like glue, you land your first burst you r killing them. Super easy to get 100 range so you don’t even have to use an adept range mod. This gun is juiced to the roof. Sticking to the range is good. But I will say this tho, this gun needs kill clip in order to maximize the beast it is.
Very disappointing pulse, but the idea of a high impact 2 round burst is really fun- maybe increase the damage and recoil, slow down the rate of fire in between bursts , and let us 2 burst people just like a messenger or Elsie’s.
Stats aside it looks so fucking cool.
If you have 9 bucks you can by the darkness shader pack an it looks even better with the strand shader.

you... didn't watch the video did you? i literally said it's super easy to shoot, very stable and big range. i said it has a horrendous TTK and damage perks don't actually help it.

Facts are, without ability buffs and just pure weapon perks, autos/pulse/scouts are broken. There are scouts capable at base with box breathing of .6, not to mention the riven scout that with rampage and kill clip hits a .4ttk. A lightweight Pulse rifle with rampage kill clip. Autos like khovostov.
There are no 140’s capable of anything faster than a .87 ttk, without abilities that give radiant and the only one with radiant that can out ttk the .87 is ace with perk and radiant 🤦🏼♂️
I know bungie is trying to lessen the skill gap to make having “fun” for player retention but…. At least

That’s because some (weaker) PvP players sense that the “feel” of the weapon is good (which is true), while some (average or better) PvP players recognize that the functionality/practicality of the weapon is actually bad (also true).
