Pro tip - if the round turns into a 1v1 you have to fight. Better taking a 50-50 chance of winning then letting them chain rez and suddenly it’s a 3v1 and hopeless. Not even talking about the zone cap stuff just in general
A LOT of so called “good pvp” players in trials forget the fact that anything is possible but you have to fight lol like I stopped giving a f and just every time it’s needed I’m ready to fight if I die I die but it’s better than stretching out a game
Went flawless last weekend with the boudica cause of you Mr.Vanguard. This weekend im gunna focus on being the best teamate i can be for a solo guy. Love your content man ❤
"I know you want to be a good teammate to the guy who dies but be a good teamate to the guy that LIVED." DAM that's a good quote that will probably stay with me.
If you'd said kd, you might have a point. However, efficiency takes assists into account so you might do a lot of damage, stay alive but never secure a kill with a 2.x or 3.x efficiency while your 500 damage team mates might have finished all those kills. Now who's to blame then?
Depends on the situation, if enemy is bunkered down in a close quarters area, it’s best to flush em out by having a team mate start capping zone. 9 times out of 10 they panic and rush the zone making them easy picking for your teammates.
I’m a hunter void main, and allow me to add a 6th point to your list TV: If your invis mate goes on a short flank at the beginning of every round… STOP FOLLOWING HIM!!!!!
Lmao I feel like you made this video for my teammates. The amount of times I 1 v 2 players just to get cleaned up by the third. Meanwhile my teammates are either solo capping the zone, trying to revive someone across the map, someone flanking from the next zip code, or scary teammates that run away from gun fights they start.
I had a game, where my teamate tried capping the zone twice by himself in 2 different rounds. I'd trade, it would be 1v1, I cycle through the cameras to see jimbo trying to solo cap while the enemies rezed everyone and deleted him.
Another thing that should be added is don't straffe in front of your teammates who is actively firing. Don't know many times I've almost got an enemy down and my teammate straffes in front blocking that last shot, and then the enemy kills me. It's frustrating as all heck.
Yup, when I play warlock or titan it's incredibly annoying to have a teammate think that you put a rift or barricade down just for them. They stand there at the exact same angle instead of getting another one and the whole time hindering your straff or pushing you back into the lane when you're about to die.
You always know what to say!! I try here in there but will say been getting better because of your tips. I was a mess when I first started and now I think of my lanes and my team mates instead of just running around like fool. Keep it up your the best !!
You know it’s crazy, I’m not a high level player by any means, but I have sunk a ton of time in trials and yet somehow I’ve never thought of the fact of getting the rez at the end of rounds for extra super. I just kind of always did it, without the understanding of why. Now I’ll never miss one! Thanks TV!
My dude. Thank you for making this. I'm gonna start referring every player that solo caps to this one right here. I can't count how many times I've been in a 2 v 3 and the last man standing is getting collapsed on at the point

Good points, thanks for sharing. For me trials if very difficult, but in order to learn I need to play and keep working at it. These videos and peoples comments help.
9:42 instead of the dance, my personal favorite on Athrys is to have the Home Run emote, because the text is “Eliakith calls their shot” and to use it before throwing the knife. Highly recommend, the knife always hits.
dude just wanna tell you that I watched this video earlier today, and for the first time I made it to the light house solo. So, thank you so much for this!
I've done some long flanks and been REALLY successful as the mid lanes my team mates would just sit there getting completely pushed back each time so I ended up doing a flank and team wiped a good few times from different flanks each time. :)
TV, I normally agree with your takes but I actually strongly disagree with the first one about solo zone capping. This is Dominion and the zone does matter. For those of us who aren't as skilled as you, it is much easier to distract and cap a zone than kill the other team. Most of the matches I win have 3 zone captures rounds. I am more confident in the time it takes to cap a zone than random teammates who often mindlessly throw themselves at the enemy.
All solid tips, I can't believe people still don't understand that teamshoting is instant win button. Too many want to split off and camp no sense lanes solo..
Honestly remembered you from d1 days and decided to look up if you're still doing videos... hope the wife and kid is doing great. I remember you specifically for the attempt to respond to everyone in the comments.. keep going guardian
tips 1 and 2 tie in together. If its 3v1 or 2v1, solo capping puts more weight on your teammates shoulders for the guaranteed cap. but if they do keep the last guy from capping and stay alive then it isn't totally wrong to solo cap when your teammates stay alive. As other content creators suggest, it puts a timer on the enemy to make a move and they will get reckless. I argue for tip number 4, ONLY if you can hit your sniper shots to finish or get a pick early. Otherwise, its better to teamshot with primaries. One additional tip i'd like to give is guard enemy revives, no matter what. If you get an early pick or 2, make sure the enemy can't revive it safely or even if they do get the res it either kills them or deals huge damage to where you can follow it up. If the enemy gets the res, it gives them the chance to take back the round.
My biggest “bad habit” was I would re-peak like a moron after getting hit. I’ve learned that if I get hit, I back off reset and then reengage. I’m not TV going flawless every weekend but my win rate definitely went up since I stopped getting killed right off the rip. lol.
I have won and lost games, because someone snuck off to the zone, while there teammates are in a lane standoff , that zone caps faster than you think, it's high risk, but if the other team doesn't register what your doing, you can win the round before anyone dies because the other players are waiting on each other to lane peak
"The revive is not always the play." (while reviving literally his entire team in the game footage) The point was spot on, but the timing with the gameplay was funny :)
Love number 4. Went flawless, solo, this weekend, had an 82% win rate (100 games) with Travelers Chosen and Igneous. Zero special kills on the weekend lol
Dude after watching this I went to trials, got struggling, a rude dude told me to uninstall the game but then I focused, put real effort into following the tips and I won, I reached the lighthouse... I haven't done that since d1 with a friend that was op playing 😢, I can't believe I finally did it after so long and so many tries
A few other problem with wide flankers I'd wanna tell them is that #1 Some maps you just can't get to that flank angle fast enough for it to be effective, even with an optimal route. If by the same time your teammates are staring/shooting down the "main lane" you're not able to have an angle to shoot the other team's sides, it's probably not worth going for. #2 Don't KEEP flanking once it's no longer a surprise. If you get a great flank at the start of round 1, but in round 2 someone's sniper rifle is looking right at you as you peak out, immediately abandon the flank and regroup.
“It’s easy to blame your teammates; focus on these tips instead” -proceeds to list what my teammates do in every single Trials match. I’m never seeing that lighthouse 😫
When in doubt Team shoot, team shoot, team shoot. It’s that simple. Play lanes closest to zone, pay attention to where your team is going and either team shoot with them or if 2 are already together shooting, get to a lane that can cut off escape.
I feel so attacked. Thank you for this, I have done everything you said, even blaming people I baited or just left alone to die. Just need to remind myself it's about the team, nothing else.
Bold of you to assume I'm also hitting anything other than the wall behind the enemy with my primary fire too in the fourth point, but otherwise good tips!
I have lost and won many games because people still think trials is an elimination game. Zone is captured a lot faster than you think on bigger maps. If you notice a titan missing they are probably sitting on cap with a barricade ready.
You don't want to solo cap a zone, but if you are solo capping a zone and you're teammates are across the map you aren't the one who made the mistake. With the current meta of barricades, rifts and healing you should always be playing the zone. Either the other team pushes and you have advantage or they just so scared to die you get free caps. So yea don't solo cap the zone, yell at your teammates for not being there instead 😅
The player that runs off on his own is the WORST, these are great tips. I have to be honest though I don't seem to win games in trials unless I kill all 3 players at least twice a game. I definitely think that's a matchmaking issue, it almost feels like they're giving me players to carry when I'm not nearly good enough to carry both players every, single, game. I just use trials to get the rolls on trials weapons I want now.
It's not the matchmaking as that's random based on card level, it's the lobby balancing that is horrible and 100% Bungie's fault. Bungie seems to put the two lowest ranked players on the highest ranked player's team, even if that best player is higher by an insignificant amount. For example, a 1.5kd player would end up w\ 2 .5kd players while the whole other team is around a 1.0kd. It's damn near impossible for a 1.5 to 1v3 for 5 rounds. They should never put the two worst players on the same team!
I only go for the solo cap in a 3v1 where my teammates are going for a 2v1. I figure that way, I'm forcing the opponent to do something and make a mistake
TV! I you using Consecration & you mentioned about the Barricade x OS Revive also. Wondering have you used Precious Scars on Sunbreaker? I can almost guarantee you'll have an Adept Igneous! Healclip + Damage Perk, Luna's can get Healclip x Killclip also which is really damn good! & I believe Summoner can roll Healclip x Onslaught. You get a small heal from a Solar Weapon Kill, Reload & you'll get Healclip + Killclip/Damage Perk. If you manage to heal team mates at the same time? Cant remember the Fragments but you can get faster cooldowns etc. Team Mate goes down? You get the revive you'll get a Heal Bump & an OS, you'll get this little link between you, if you get a second revive? It gets refreshed & stronger. I'm not the best at PVP, this set-up has saved me & trials rounds multiple times. I cannot recommend it enough, anyone reading this give it a shot! Especially if you've got the Armour to get Triple 100's for Resilience, Recovery & Discipline/Intellect! You can still be an Ape but you can also be the clutch healer/revive player too!
Okay, i have to disagree where you say the zone isnt the main goal. If you cap zone you win. That makes it THE main goal. Dont solo cap it, but also dont be the guy running to the complete opposite side of the map for no reason other than you want to fight. Map control wins rounds. Map control + life advantage guarantees rounds.
The reason why randoms do not play together is because; if both teams are team shooting each other, it might as well be a dice roll to see who will die first. Randoms do not want to rely on those odds so they end up doing wide flanks or try to capture the point by themselves. They believe they are the hero in their story and not the fall guy.
Can i make a request for a video? I'm a low skill level player, and I usually play autorifles and pulse. I have a particularly hard time dealing with teams that come charging at us. I'd like to get help on how to deal with aggressive teams
I almost thought I was the bad guy for hating when my 2nd leaves to go rez our 3rd if we were in a 2v1. Especially so because if I die, that last enemy probably has time to rez THEIR teammates, whereas we could’ve sealed the deal then and there
Omg, its like you literally heard my calls for a vid this week 😭😭 literally ALL the main points i always try to give someone and follow and get pet peeved when ally doesnt haha. Now do Comp playlist please 😭 Now do
One thing I hate in trials is people who keep doing the same shit and dying for it over and over again like we’re playing control that shit drives me crazy
I don't know if this is equivalently helpful but something I've experienced a lot is people just running in - I don't mean I'm staying miles away, I'm referring to reckless behaviour from others along the same lines as people going in weird flanks and leaving teammates in 2/3 v 1 situations; if the teammate stayed with me and team shot with something mid range we'd get the kill, but no they're sprinting in trying to get a shotgun kill or something.
What you on about, I didn't leave my teammate I literally kept facing the enemy and shot the entire time. I never disengaged from the fight. You watching a different video or something?
@@TrueVanguard no need to be defensive, I was just making a joke. On a more serious note, it was a bit confusing to hear you say not to leave your team, and then see what happened at 7:33. You were looking down the main lane teammate’s rez behind you in diamond door and your other teammate making a push for heavy. One enemy behind box, the other behind old heavy, and an enemy rez right next to box. You turned to your left and went to diamond door to get the rez, but in that time the enemy pushed and took out your teammate on heavy. So in that moment you left your alive teammate to fight a 1v2 in order to get a rez. You managed to punish they’re over extension with good aim and the rez overshield, but it was confusing to see you do something opposite to what you said earlier by leaving the option for your enemy to make it a 2v3.
Another one that infuriates me is teammates that res without challenging the opponent shooting at the res. You just die again, giving them free ammo, super energy and increasing the res timer. I'm mad even typing this
My only concern with trials is if I'm in my first match why I constantly face people with 5 or 6 wins already, I constantly see people finish their trials against me, I feel so confused
Yo, you damn legend deleting them clips. That's a loss of some legit content that your video might've been better with, but is more healthy for other people. F-ing respect it.

My biggest issue if these particular players that look ready to enter a strike like I straight will just back out bc they are so cluelss it hurts
I keep these tips in mind but I'm just playing only on bonus rank trials.
Awesome tips
TV: “Don’t leave your team when you have a 2v1 to get a rez”
Also TV: leaves his teammate to die in a 2v2 to get a rez 7:33
Me: confused monkey noises
I'm mad even typing this
After day i had yesterday and basically getting called a moron. Think im might be done...or the very least taking a very long break from trials.
8:02 what if they're using a smg or sidearm? Call me crazy but i think a bodyshot cleanup is the play there
I'm too crap and normally too drunk to be effective anyway! :)
I don’t think I’ve even had trials go long enough to get a super, lol
My only concern with trials is if I'm in my first match why I constantly face people with 5 or 6 wins already, I constantly see people finish their trials against me, I feel so confused
Worrying about what you can control instead of what you can’t is a life lesson lol
Good reminders
It also helps when you have kjhovey as a teammate
OMG, I just realized that I'm a flanker! Need to stop that shite. :-D
Yo, you damn legend deleting them clips. That's a loss of some legit content that your video might've been better with, but is more healthy for other people. F-ing respect it.
I was thinking the same. TV is a decent guy
@@klasnm_5364 It's impressive to see someone over this long of a time on the internet still be a good person, seems less and less common.
Hope you're looking forward to a great weekend, friend.
@@JeffreyMcLain thanks the same
Don't follow an invis hunter doing a flank.
Please STAHP making the community better, trials is hard enough!
