This reminds me of my bsa scorpion. Good looking pistol
I had the scorpion too , great gun
I thought Scorpion when I first saw it. 👍🏻
Wish I still had mine. My fault - I shouldn't have loaned it to a so-called friend. You think I would have learned when I did the same thing to my Paratrooper.
Just in the process of rebuilding 2 in number .22 Mk2 Scorpions, great ‘little’ guns
Loved my scorpion, made a stock for it 🙂
What exactly is "advanced" about the plastic...er, polymer.
Being in the U.S. I have a 25 Supercharger in .177 that is a Vortex powered gun. The really nice thing about the ram model pistols is that they can be (the gasrams) adjusted to whatever pressure you would like within reason. They are adjusted by way of Hatsan's probe for their pcp guns. Mine shoots 7.9 cp pellets at an average of 632 fps. all while knocking the snot out of tuna cans open sighted at 50 yards plus. A very desirable set-up to have with the probe and an air source. They only make the .177 with the vortex. If you want a .22, you have to make that yourself. Nice video also Andy.
That's handy to know Mike, many thanks from across the pond 👍
I'm definitely biased, as far as Hastsan . They make great break barrels and quality products over all. I have this in a 22 and it is huge , to me it looks like storm trooper blaster . They make darts that will work with these , just a fun feature
Good video but its worth mentioning that there maybe some confusion here.
There is also the Hatsan 25 as well as the Hatsan 25 Supercharger which indeed could be very confusing. The standard Hatsan 25 is the pistol thats under £100 and is very much like the Webley Typhoon. The standard 25 sometimes comes with targets and pellet catcher but it doesnt have the threaded barrel and is a little less powerful than the Hatsan 25 Supercharger. The Hatsan Supercharger usually retails at £115-£130. Just thought i would help clear that up. I have one of these and i actually prefer shooting it more than my Webley Alecto although it definitely is heavier. All the best from lancashire.
Top Shot thank you👍
There is also the Supercharger QE, sometimes called the Supercharger Model 25 QE that has some sort of built in silencer. Some of the models say they have Hatsan's Vortex gas ram instead of spring power. And then there is a version fitted with a shoulder stock, the Model 25 Supercharger SuperTact QE. Yes, it's all abit confusing.
Does anybody remember the BSA Scorpion? Tarted up, but identical and probably performs exactly the same (because of air gun limitation criteria). One thing that puzzled me about that....and this, is being so heavy, why didn't they make a detachable, or folding, stock for it as an accessory? Massively increase it's utility and effectiveness.
Hi Tim, there is a version called Hatsan Supertact, with detachable stock
Just got mine out the cupboard (First time in 30 years+) and yes it's almost the same gun. Forgot how heavy they are, would do more damage chucking the thing :)
Yes Tim I do remember the BSA Scorpion had one back in the day the second I see this pistol the Scorpion was the first pistol came to mind
I was given a bsa scorpion. It was rusty, wouldn't cock and when I finally hot it to cook it wouldn't fire. I got it working, fitted a red dot and weihrauch silencer. It's accurate and 5.5ftlbs.
They were also in a James bond film too. Octopussy I think
Hi Andy, I enjoy all your videos, just felt the need to say BSA Scorpion on this one, keep up the good work Mate 👍
says $130 in the USA 800fps in .177 from airgun depot
Morning Andy, I’ve had one of these for a few years, it’s a cracking pistol. It reminds me of my old BSA scorpion I had as a youth. Mine came with a steel target holder, pack of paper targets and a tin of pellets all in the box and cost £69.99. A real bargain.
Being of a certain age, I also have fond memories of the BSA Scorpion, and sometimes muse on adding something like one to my quiver. I've wibbled between this and the Umarex Trevox, and I think this is ahead.
@@cyrusshellard3905 Woodfield GCP, but he’s no longer selling Airguns unfortunately.
DAI Leisure are doing the pistol, pellet catcher, targets and pellets for £79.99
@@sergentcolon1 are you sure that's the supercharger version, they do a 25 non supercharger a bit cheaper I've seen but doesn't look quite so good.
@@stephenoshea1166 no mine is the non supercharger model 25 version, but it’s basically the same gun. Slight cosmetic differences but same action and barrel. I would warn people though, forget about fitting optics. I’ve tried with both red dots and a pistol scope but was unable to prevent them creeping due to the high recoil ( something I think the sledge action actually accentuates rather than mitigates ) it’s an accurate pistol none the less though. Another point is that the point of impact changes if the cocking extension is left on when firing.
Typical Hatsan, cheap, powerful, really accurate and HEAVY. :-) Really good guns for the price though and as long as it
won't be used to carry around a little extra heft is usually good for stability/accuracy.
Someone aught to make a movie inspired by that one about a wedding in Greece and it should be called:
"My big fat Turkish airgun!" Nice review as usual Andy, big thumbs up!
Good morning, excellent video as usual, The pistol reminds me of a BSA one I use to have, Brilliant features and an excellent price too.
Well done Hatsan and yourself Andy for another great review,
The bsa scorpion? Still got mine 😁
I was just thinkig the same, bsa springer
The benjamin trail mark ii np pistol is about the same price and has a nitro piston and similar specs. Which do you think is better?
Another similarity this has with the old Scorpion is the totally right-handed grip! One of the reasons I never had a Scorpion when I was young. Fortunately, someone gave me an old one for free a few years ago, so I didn't feel bad about hacking it around. Took a big bl**dy file to the thumb rest, and now I can shoot it left-handed. Would feel a bit wary about doing the same thing to a brand new gun at any price.
Wow! Just carried on with the video and you can get it left handed!!! Maximum respect to Hatsan for recognising the cack-handers!!!
i have both the 4,5 and 5,5 (.177 and 22) i immediately removed that useless annoying gripflips with a stanley knife, much better indeed😆
I have the Browning 800 Mag which is older version made under licence. Still 5.9ftlb in .22 after several years. With gamo red dot can get 10mm groups, cracking gun for the money, trigger is a peach
This is a cracking pistol. It's absolutely solid, shoots accurately and has a really nice trigger. I'm surprised he didn't mention the 2 stage quattro trigger, it's an absolute peach
Go to 4min 10 seconds, you’ll find he does and there’s a close up of the same👍🏻
@@TheNo1Gandalf I stand corrected
New version which I have has has a plastic slightly adjustable trigger. Trigger is still good though, but not as good as the metal one. Hatsan seems to have cheaped out on the gun. Sad when that happens.
@@owen4954 yeah. I'm lucky I got the old supercharger version.Powerful little pistol
@speckledjim_ Unfortunately I got the newer model with bulky plastic muzzle break which covers the whole barrel. The old one looks better in my opinion too.
I bought the .22 version, installed a red/green optic, and shoot 14 grain hollow points, which are far cheaper than 115 grain 9mm. I estimate the muzzle velocity is 500 FPS (about 340 mph). With the target 50 feet down-range, I achieve an excellent grouping. Being 69 years old, there's a side benefit of this gun, giving my shoulder and arm muscles a good workout each time I cock the pistol.
How were you able to mount the red dot?
Did you put on some weight? Just asking.
Excelente video, saludos cordiales desde Aguascalientes México. 🙋♂️
Back in the late 70's I made a wooden shoulder stock for my BSA Scorpion, time to get back in the shed I think.
Like the budget reviews
Many tell that this turkish pellet pistol has a serious problem with the spring system that does not last long.
Canadian asking how much is "1/5 of a monkey"?
[Edit] ok i've been informed it is 100pound.
Nice one that. Andy, I have a rarely used .177 Hy-Score (lovely) but is missing the rear sight. (adjustable) Where, who and how do I get hold of such ? Thanks. It shoots through my shed door !!
Random question...my crosman vigilante lets half the co2 out before I can screw it in. How do I fix it ??
The West German high score was similar very accurate reasonably priced bought it 1972 from a store in Oakland California called whitefront with my father it was under $50 owned it for 20 years never having an issue passed it down the line..💪
Living in the States and owning a Supercharger in .177, I can attest to the pistol being able to shoot Hatsan’s claimed velocity and then some.
Way more FREEDOM in the states, it'll be a joke here 🇬🇧
Can it kill rats?
I don’t think it would have any problem with that. No personal experience with specifically rats 🐀, though.
@@cheapairgunner1966 have you killed any other pest
Just field mice.
It looks a lot like my bsa scorpion that I’ve only had since the 1970s. And that still out shoots all of my other pistols including the HW45 and the webley. So it’s a good format. I’ll buy one to try the bsa is a good gun to copy near impossible to cock.
there like rifle with a pistol grip. If it’s has good as bsa. For that money there a bargain a good bsa is around £300.
Definitely a scorpion copy, the BSA is a super gun I had one in the 70s wish I still had it and my Webley premier both were in 22.
@@deliboy1864 I’got the scorpion out this morning it’s a rock solid gun. I’m lucky. mine is in like new condition. We get all the pistols out every so often. And we always come to the same conclusion. The bsa scorpion is the most accurate and most devastating power wise follies by the HW45.
my daughter shoots it with the bsa trooper stock at the range and she embarrasses most of mates at 25 meters. Affordable scorpions come up on gun watch. You should grab one. Hey cheers
@@davemonday5381 The first batches of the scorpion were over the power threshold and had to be recalled, might be worth running it over a crono. For an old gun it would be interesting to see what the old girl is running at. ,👍
@@deliboy1864 Iim sure there wasn’t a limit in this country in the 70s. But you are because bsa sold the to Germany and they had a limit. Even on rifles 6 lb
@@deliboy1864 mine has been cronoed Had to crono all the guns a gun club rule and I think it was over 6lb but it didn’t matter because it was a rifle at the time. But I will check it again now you’ve reminded me. I bought it from a collector. When I asked him what did it shoot like. He told me. I’m a collector not a shooter. He’d had it from new for over 40 years and never fired it once. He couldn’t even cock it. So it’s never been apart it’s has it left the factory. It’s a mk2 the early ones hadn’t got a scope rail. Cheers
Hi Andy, this is John Madges from the USA. I have the Hatsan mod 25 supercharger in. 22 caliber. It has the QE barrel on it with a fixed front sight. I wish they would have kept the adjustable front sight. I have the rear sight adjusted all the way up and it still shoots 4 to 5 inches low. Any suggestions? Thank you for all your videos, you are awesome! Thank you for your time and help.
Reminds me of the B S A scorpion 177 back in the 1970s just missing the safety catch which was then on the side , scorpion Olson came with an extension to cock the barrel,
I have got to get one of these. I have the Benjamin Trail NP pistol in .177. at 20 yards I make nickel-sized holes. I love it. I would like to see this in .25 cal. with the vortex piston. maybe a folding stock. I had to edit this because I think the .30 cal would be better. HATSAN ARE YOU LISTENING.
Looks exactly like the old BSA Scorpion which was huge and starred in a James Bond film(think it was a Rodger Moore one?).The Scorpion was really just a cut down, and not much cut down!, BSA Buccaneer air rifle. The HW 45 gave similar power but in a smaller package.
I thought it was. A cut down BSA meteor ???
I have a BSA Scorpion with box and all the bells and whistles. The Scorpion is very swoopy in style and this Hatsan looks like a modern angular update. Fantastic to see quality like this at a budget. After sales add-on stock?
What year is this gun from?
I bought this gun in .177 3 years are so ago, it shot 2 rounds then died...I ordered the other one, and it worked fine.
The trick with cocking a heavy springer is to do it ergonomically. As with a Webley Junior, not to break it across your knee but to hold the barrel in the left fist at the right shoulder and to bring the grip down, reversed in the right fist using the big muscle at the back of your arm, the triceps. I don't know if that would work with the Hatsan but a man can usually lift himself with that muscle.
Hatsan makes some great budget belters.. would love to see more comparisons/shoot outs between like priced models as more and more companies enter the market. 👍
So many mentions of the BSA Scorpion tends to reveal our ages!!!!!!!! At fist sight, that was my impression!
I do remember though, that pro-rata, the BSA was seriously more expensive, so this is phenomenal value.
Great vid as always Andy.
I loved mine and in 177 and flat head pellets shot lots of farm pigeons rats and rabbits and young branchers great days and a great hobby wish I still had it
Yes we are getting on 66
you explain the different speeds between barrel size I was wondering what the kinetic energy is between the two. the fast lightweight pellet or the slowa heavyweight
Nice one Andy.
Question about FAC vs 12ftlb air rifles. Is the best FAC powered gun you can buy not so good when you buy one limited to 12ftlb? Is the best, the best whatever power its set at or is there a selection of rifles that are perfect at 12ftlb but would be not so good at full power?
BSA scorpion re hashed?
BSA Scorpion rip-off.
Very good morning to you Andy. I must say I am very excited for this pistol. Fantastic review. Thank you so much for sharing. Have a great day. Cheers
Super pistol, the VORTEX version is superior to any breakbarrel airpistol.
Why does the citizens of your country allow restrictions on foot pounds of energy with an an airgun?
I'm just curious
In England they feel below 12ftbs is a safe limit so not to somebody. I wish they would raise the limit 👍🏻
In the UK you will not see an increase in the power of air weapons as a vote winner for any political party ! If there is any change it is likely to be a reduction so those who enjoy the hobby tend to keep quiet !
@@gap9992 that's a shame it seems like it's a political agenda across the world to keep us all as slaves and to be controlled all in the name of fear and safety... interesting 🤔
England it’s 6ft lbs for pistols. 12ft lb for an air rifle without a firearms certificate. Unlimited with an FAC.
well i think America hasnt helperd much in its seemingly obsession with shooting and destroying things ? if it moves kill it attitude. with gun crime at a ludicrous level. nut go rampaging blowing everyone away. yep this seemingly has terrified the british government so much we are treated like a child crossing a road. we have rules and regs for absolutely everything and they try to molliecotten us incase we are to hurt our little selfs or worse still somebody else. we certainly dont have t6he freedom we would like put it that way.
For the Price does it have nuke capabilities??? Aaaaaahahahahahaha!!
Thanks for the review. I'm now studying the purchase of another air gun after years using CO2 pistols and decades with the GAMO AF10. This big Hatsan 25 gun is an option with buttstock added for less than 200 euro here in Spain.
Did I miss the chrono???
Thats just enormously huge to be called a pistol, sorry. Almost all lever-action pistols are hideous, except a few like the SP500.
I have a Hatsan .25 caliber Break-barrel riffle and have found it a nice product.
Me too, spectacularly nice trigger on mine. Not light, but so well shaped your finger just slides along it for a lovely smooth release.
I'm going to have to look into getting a Hatsan gun or two.
Looks a lot like my Trevox.
Blimey. I usually have zero interest in pistols, but..... honestly, after watching this and knowing it's less than a hundred quid? I want one :)
This little pistol is more for your money and you can fit a mod and a good red dot and it even has a recoil stop and fiber optics to, this is the best deal better then the Webley pistol for the money and it's the same price A great video
Oh pan man you got us a truly budget high quality talking pan! 🍳🍳🍳
that "ergonomic" grip, the first thing i did was cut away that flap, and ordered a left hand left grip without that horrible flap thing, comfortable? dont think so.....
I use a hatson escort 12 bore sim auto for clays and they are cheap and very good and reliable
What did you think of the recoil system ?
Mrs AAR is such a good sport. Great review. Regards from Scotland.
THUMBS UP "
Great review, I knew Mrs. AAR could do it, she's a tough woman ;)
You got that right!
I love this guy🤩, keep it up mister AAR!!
2nd ❤️
Damn it, I nearly forgot that I wanted one of these but now you've reignited an itch that will one day need scratching!! 😁Didn't often see them below £100 though last time I was looking, more like £125-130.
Great gun. Have one in 177 and i prefer it to my Webley Alecto. I have a 2xpistol scope on it even though it doesnt need one. It loves RWS Hypermax Alloy pellets putting out 5.8ftlbs. I have seen the new Remington Talon Gas Ram Breakbarrel air pistol which looks really interesting but i havent seen a single review on it yet. Hopefully it will be another magnum powered air pistol. All the best from Lancashire Uk.
Me neither when I’d seen the talon I instantly researched it and found no reviews or videos or out…. Nice to hear it’s power output I’m debating a supertact version of this and was worried the 177. Versions may of been underpowered 4.5- low 5 ftlb all the best from the North topshot
wich is the difference between this supercharger and the webley typhoon? seems the same, and i'm doubting on wich one buy
The most comfortable pistol i owned was a daisy pneumatic circa 1980. Really ergonomic..
Great video as usual, this is similar in design to my old Umarex Trevox.
Thank you for this review. I also watched the Review on the Webley. My goal at the moment is EFP plus accuracy. I pick the Hatsan because it looks like it's more stable. Maybe the extra weight and speed of the Hatsan enhance those 2 characteristics. Recently I'm hoping to rid myself of a few vandalizing Raccoons and need both the EFP and the accuracy.
I took delivery on my Hatsan 25 yesterday. I was a bit concerned it was going to be harder to cock than i could handle for a 4 hour practice session because of your grunt and mention of tennis elbow, your phrase of needing extra effort to cock and my age of 75 years. I shot it once and it does seem to hit harder than my other break barrel guns. It also takes a little more effort to cock than my other break barrels, but it's not going to be a problem for me. I didn't shoot it more that day only because I had a few chores I thought should be done immediately.
My most pressing next chore is to find a suitable sight for the Hatsan 25 whether a crosshair scope or a dot type sight. I did notice you said it requires sight made for a pistol. I'd sure appreciate some brand suggestions for each kind of sight.
Thanks again for your reviews.
anyone know what the power out of the 22 version is like?
What a belter of a pistol and the price is stupidly cheap
.👍
Reminds of an old BSA pistol I has yeaesssssssssssssss ago
Morning Andy what a great little pistol it reminds me of shooting my Original model No5 as a kid over 40 years ago with my father
They look kinda cheap in my opinion.
You did a great video on it! 👍
BSA had a similar pistol in the 70's :)
Yes I had one :)
Hatsan should make a carbine version with perhaps a couple of extra inches on the barrel, it would make a great rat rifle.
They do make one, the Model 25 SuperTact, or Model 25 SuperTact QE. I doubt they are easy to find in the UK, but they can be ordered I guess. Its a cool niche product as not everyone wants a ratting pistol or ratting carbine powered by C02, Single stroke Pneumatic, Multi pump Pneumatic, HPA conversion or PCP.
@@99ron30 Just looking at one now, looks like it still has the short barrel which is a shame because a few extra inches would be a blessing. It doesn't look like it has the semi recoilless action though?
Good morning Andy, how are you this chilly Friday morning. Now this pistol is an all round smile winner.. Great price great features great finish.. Thank you for this weeks work. Cheers Simon from York England
i dont believe its that accurate sorry especially standing what distance were u at ?
It's huge.
Morning all...🥸💥👍
Another brilliant episode Andy .Thank you and stay safe .
Just got one them £80 UK England
Looks like a RIPOFF of the classic BSA Scorpion pistol I had one in my teens and loved it
What a great pistol at a amazing price big thumbs up.
Wow Jürgen Klopp has lost his german accent
i've got an older model Hatsan (at least 20 years old!) and that thing is still going strong! it's a smaller/lighter gun than the one in your review, but dang, it's frickin' accurate! for a cheapo model, i was quite surprised! they're actually well made and not a waste of money! 👍
Which do u think is t best made that has a refillable air canister
Mrs AAR don’t feel bad I probably be a tough one for me ..! I think if the moderator would have to be steel , over time that 1/2 inch unf may become bent slightly. Have a great day Andrew 👍🏻
From the preview. Ohh look a break barrel Diana type air gun.
Once you see it, ohh more like an air gun Desert Eagle. Nice one and for that kind of money. May need to get one 😁😲😁
Thanks for review. Any thing known about elevation adjustable front sight? IOn U.S.A. models front sight isn't adjustable.
BSA Scorpion flashbacks from the 70s & 80s.
how is the trigger?
Trigger is great, and i put in a gas ram real accurate now out to 30 yards
@@michaelgussnig1426 thanks, usually a bad trigger is the downfall of budget airguns
Y te ahorras el gym haciendo pectorales. And you save the gym by doing push-ups
U should do some reviews on the Weirach Hw70 Black arrow & the Hatsan MOD25 Supertact QE
Looks like a beefed up Benjamin Np pistol!
I would of thought they would include a vortex ram in it tho?!
Interesting review
(A canadian that will never be allowed to own one)
Will it take care of the rats .
Looks more like a bullpup to me, 508mm ? my BSA R10 SE CSC isn't far of that, and Vector Air, might be getting ready for a bigger shop, if their websight actually worked, it's the only one I've tried to use on different computers with different OS's and browsers, but the drop down menues don't function. Oh well I guess they are so successful in their area they don't need anyother trade or to have anyway to contact them on their site (funny I always get the feeling when a company doesn'y have email contact, they might be a bunch of cowboys) but I'm sure they're not if you say so.
Get mod 25 supertact with telescopic buttstock.600fps for.22.... it is over 11 j
It looks like a copy of the old webley scorpion but with a longer barrel
Well done ! From Rome "
