Actually..., it was advertised for many reasons. My mother had one... she owned hers, she didn’t rent it. Hers was a Walton belt vibrator that looked pretty much the same. My sisters and I LOVED to mess with it. To us it was a toy but to her it was relief. She needed the blood flow stimulation because of poor health. Additionally, she had kidney stones and The machine helped massage her back. To the public it was advertised as a weight reducer, But really it was initially created to be therapeutic. My dad sold it when he sold the house 5 years after she died. I wish I still had it for sentimental reasons. I bet she got hers from a Sears catalog! 😂 She was 47 and I was 14 yrs.old when she died. Today, I’m 47.

I know its been a while but I wld like to add to the comments. My Mom had one of these & they really DO work IF done on a continual basis. Especially for the individual who does little to No exercise & really cant get out much to even walk for weight loss or other health reasons. It gets the diff parts of yr body moving & most definitely gets blood flowing to the areas needed. Truly, it 😳DOES help the body. Just be sure to move from one target area to another & alternate areas that the belt is on. If you dont alternate areas it will give a type of “rug burn/belt burn” to an area if its left on one area too long.😖
Also you must never use it without clothing on to protect yr skin.😳
Hey, its not a miracle machine either, not by any means, wont give you a six-pack either. Sorry...🤷🏻‍♀️
However, it WILL get blood flow going & it WILL help with weight loss goals to a degree. This gets a person up & moving body parts that certainly do NOT get worked while sitting in a recliner watching tv! Just “stick with it” & a person can benefit from one of these machines. 😉👍

That machine is pretty trippy, but do people really think they can burn calories by standing still and using that thing? Calories and fat are energy and need to be expended by doing things that require effort (like exercising). I am curious about what the logic behind that machine is though, would be interesting to see.
LOL @ your dad "actually I think it makes me feel fatter."

Honestly, its no different than more current "miracle" tools - you've seen the ab-belts and the shake weights. You could even look at "miracle fat burning pills" as being in the same category - people love miracle-products lol
