Many Astrochannels detail the hardware, techniques and photography. You bring us the culture and places along with wonderful photography and production quality. Astronomy enriches at so many levels. Thank-you!
You summed up the intent of my channel perfectly. Thank you!
Insanely beautiful skies
Very nice!
Really enjoyed this! Even caught a glimpse of my camper in the drone shot! I agree that GSSP is a special event because of the people.
Love this storytelling!
You are crazy underated. Subscribed instantly!
That means a lot, thank you!
Looks like fun thanks for sharing
Wow breath taking ✨🤩❤
Nicely done!
Thanks, Rich! That means a lot from the person who organizes two of the highlights of my summer every year. Grateful that GSSP and Barcroft exist!
Awesome work Brian!
Very well done video.
Awesome video! I need to add this star party to my list of ones to do for sure.
Always a privilege to watch your videos, Brian!! Loving getting to know how each adventure comes about and to see the experiences you share during the day like those incredible waterfalls. Always with the anticipation of what incredible image we're going to get to see at the end of the video. No exception here. It's an absolutely stunning image of The Milky Way. Thanks for all the time and effort you go to in producing these videos for us!! 🤩
Thanks so much, Tom! I'm glad you appreciate the format of the video, I work hard on that.
GSSP is a well organized event, the location is excellent. I always had a great time and experience there. I have moved away from calif, so I will be trying some of the other events elsewhere.
you deserve more subscribers
I am not sure how I haven't found your channel until now but I am glad I did and it is a travesty that you only have 582 subscribers at this point. Your production value and content are A+. I almost forgot to mention your photos, stunning my friend! Love your videos and keep up the great work! New Subscriber for sure!
Thanks so much! That means so much to me. Really appreciate your kind words, and hope to share more soon :)
Immaculate
Well done, I liked the bokeh clip during the timelapse 👍👍
hell yea man that's a star party I'd like to go to one day, Just got rained out of okie-tex.
Beautiful video and a wonderful memory, Brian. To be under Bortle 1 skies must be 🤯.
Thank you! They sure are.
This year will be my wife and I's first year going to the GSSP. WE are both so excited.
That's wonderful! I'm sad I won't be able to make it this year (I'll be a new dad) but hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Thanks for the video! Have great memories of the Texas Start Party in Ft Davis from several decades ago
Thanks for watching, glad it brought back memories! I’d love to attend TSP someday
Without a doubt you'll get more subs
Well done sir! Love it!
Thanks for watching brother!
Great video 🔥
This is absolutely incredible, Brian. I might have to join your group next year!
Thanks so much, Jeff! You would fit right in!
I have just watched all your videos and I think they are amazing! I really happy to find you here on RUclips. Subscribed. You inspired me to do some different videos on my channel. Your format is really great!
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch them all, that means a lot to me! And how cool that it inspired some different videos :) Clear skies!
Brian, I like your summary, it's always nice to see how the party looks from the air. Your slider video timelapse adds a peaceful pace to the action.
Thanks Stephen, means a lot! Can't wait to see your shots.
Beautiful video! 🔥🔥
Thanks, Samil, appreciate that!
The production quality of your videos is insane, thanks! I'd love to visit one of these American star parties one day. Once I did a roadtrip in western US and one of the places I stayed was Bryce canyon. One of the nights the park organized a mini star party. The stars were so clear and it was just such a nice atmosphere. Thanks for reminding me of this.
Cheers, Jakob, thank you! That's amazing - I too have stayed near Bryce a couple of times and that place (and really, most of Utah) is just unreal for night skies. We are spoiled here in the Western US. You should totally come back!
Love your approach to astro on RUclips, reminds me of the Danish nature photographer Morten Hilmer :)
Thanks so much! Will have to check him out now
Hi Brian: Good video; need to add GSSP to my list. You should come to Winter Star party in Florida Keys during February; Stellafane in Vermont in July or August, and Starfest in Ontario Canada as well.
Would love to check those out sometime!
Awesome video! What settings/equipment did you use for the timelapse at the end?
moon
Would love to see a longer video of this star party this felt like a teaser and a great experience
Superb video Brian
Loved the waterfall too!
Keep ‘em coming 👍🏻
Cheers
Si
Another great video Brian! What motorized slider/rail system do you use for your timelapses? Love the wide-angle shot of the Milky Way! Was the Rokinon 135mm lens the one you mounted on the EQ6R-Pro? Great stuff!
Cheers, thanks Michael! I use an edelkrone SliderPLUS v5 Long slider, Slide Module v3, and two HeadONEs. And yes, the Rokinon 135mm was on the EQ6-R.
I think you need a bigger mount for your rig. 😂 Nicely produced video and stunning result on the image!
Thank you! Haha, I know right? I brought my big 127mm refractor this trip, but ended up just shooting with my Rokinon 135mm lens the entire time. I'm glad I did - widefield is too much fun!
We need more videos like this. Bravo!
It was great meeting you at GSSP. Really nice job putting that weekend into perspective, and a stunning shot!
Great meeting you as well, Adam! Hope to see you there next year.
Enjoyed the video - the timelapses were particularly stunning and the widefield image at the end also impressive. Clear skies
Thanks Logan, really appreciate the kind words! Clear skies
The video is calming and beautiful. I was Subaru Outback 2000 owner in the past and have nostalgic feelings about it. But I am an actual astrophotographer, and I must say - the image of the Milky Way you made is fantastic! With all that nebulae not far from its core. Can you please tell us the technical parameters of the image except the total exposure time?
Ah, I love that! It just so happened that I parked next to that Outback with my own. I absolutely love mine. Great vehicle.
Thank you so much for the kind words. It's a four panel mosaic, each panel consisted of 1h 40m of exposure time for a total of 6h 40m. Subframes were 5 minutes each using a ZWO ASI2600MC Pro camera at Gain 100. You can find more technical details on the AstroBin link in the description :)
Beautiful music and cinematography, Brian. Loved the narration as well. Glad you had a great time at GSSP and thanks for sharing the experience!
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch, Sarah, and glad you enjoyed the video - I always look forward to watching yours!
Very well put together video! Very artistic! Nicely done :)
Awesome results.
Is there a time/protocol when even the red lights--all human-made light sources--are turned off?
Not really, but there are locations on the field where visual only rules the night and even dim red lights are frowned upon. When the sky is clear, you can get around just fine with no lights at all.
