The main reason I decided to play nomad is because V the character is gonna be as new to night city as I, myself will. We’re gonna be learning the ins and outs of night city life together. Then I can play a street kid/corpo and act like I lived there my whole life

The VG lore implies that V resists joining Snake Nation leading to them arriving in Night City. There's a couple throw away lines of dialogue from V that shows they still have bitter thoughts to the point that V can actually show support for Saul Bright's similar reluctance to trust them
Everybody is saying they wanna play Nomad to experience Night City first time but I only wanna play because integrity, family, and honesty is what appeals to me the most.

It seems the black Nomad leaders are all named after famous African American leaders
The Snakes leader, Freddy Douglas is named after Frederick Douglass an Abolitionist and writer; famous for his oratory and incisive antislavery writings.
The Bloods Leader Malcom is no doubt named after Malcom X

its easy to connect characters you care about, example: "V is clearly based on Venom Snake from Phantom Pain..because "V has come to"....it is much harder however, to provide tangible evidence.. Otherwise you just sound like garry the prophet...

In case anyone didn't catch on, the Folk Nation is actually based on the real-life Folk Nation, which originated in Chicago and is a multi-racial confederation of street gangs including the Black Gangster Disciples, La Raza, Latin Eagles, Simon City Royals, Spanish Cobras, etc.
I'm actually curious how much attention to detail CDPR will give them in the game.
This might rub people the wrong way.. they might catch some flack because of the inclusion of real life gangs in this game.

Yeah in my experience almost every game series with super deep lore started as a tabletop game. I guess youve gotta have deep lore when you aint got much else going on.

Played a nomad from the Jode nation in my 2020 campaign and I fully intend to go nomad in 2077. Only, it looks like I won't be able to choose my recognized nation in the upcoming game...

Is this a new smaller family or an established one?
They fall under the Snake Nation I think. The Aldercados are also under the Snake Nation as well.
At the start of the nomad path you hear V say “snake nation can kiss my ass.” Well when he climbs the radio tower to make a call.

So that answers my questions about what happened to the blood gang. They became nomads. I wonder what happened to the Crips especially in LA post earthquake since we know they were enemies of the Folks in Chicago.
I guess Crips are done, and even the pre Collapse Bloods are pretty much changed into this.
They banded under snoop dogg's leadership and became the 8th nomad nation...however they just smoke weed and produce snoop's new album's...some say snoop's 847th album called " samur-high" was based on johnny silverhands antic's at the arasaka tower.. They eventually got mass hired by nightcorp because they assumed suge knight was the guy the corp was named after.
I always wanted that same answer about the people's nation in Chicago.

I wanna play nomad first because Alanah Pearces NPC quest is only available to them and it feels most like my own situation in life. Moving from countryside to city for work and stuff.

A game based around the Thelas Nation would be really interesting. I'm imagining something like a blend of Cyberpunk 2077 and Deus Ex with Assassin's Creed Black Flag.

What do we know about Santiago? I found more dialogue with Saul who mentions Santiago a little more when V asks if he knows of Santiago. He jeers "Do you know our lord and savior Jesus Christ?"
Maybe I just hadn't found this dialogue until now but I think this was added in the later 1.5~6 updates..
Three games I'm buying that are released this year - cyberpunk 2077, watchdogs legion and AC Valhalla.
The nomad player class in Cyberpunk 2020 was about family. The nomads class skill represented their connection with a larger family/clan network. A nomad PC could get tips, a hiding place, a little backup etc from their extended family. It goes both ways, if you play a nomad PC you are the face of that family to the outside world and all you do will reflect on them. And their problems are all your problems. The family structure is the big difference between nomads and just a gang with cars.

Do note: The history on Bloods and Crips is really fucked. A LOT of destabilization. They weren't supposed to be what they are known for today. They're actually acronyms.

There's so much lore that I honestly feel like I'll be able to better appreciate the game watching videos like this than I would be going in blind. Like, if I didn't have this knowledge and was told to pick a Nomad nation in the game... I'd be forced to choose at random.

I can tell from the accent of this person that he is not American but I do want to point out that bloods and crips in the US are indeed National Organized Crime groups even though people like to group them as simple thugs killing each other lol. Gangs in Chicago are much less organized and chaotic and nothing like gangs from California. If you pay attention really close attention you will see that in general crips and bloods are actually like the nomads in real life and arent just two one massive gangs they are hundreds of not thousands of smaller groups especially in California who fly the same flag and certain groups again (ESPECIALLY IN CA) have moved towards legitimacy in business and entertainment and it has nothing to do with being diverse and having people from foreign countries involved lmao 😂. This is why you have entire record labels and artist who are 100% members but do not try to push it as much once they gain traction and success. Just thought I'd point that out not glorifying them or anything just thought people should know the whole 1990s style gang banging isnt so much prevalent anymore in California except for the adolescent members who have not established themselves as much within the gang. Older members are usually bum ass members but there are large groups of people who organize and establish businesses and community based programs to help the youth. For example Big U, Nipsey, Big Wy, Snoop, Suge Knight etc
