"Johnny Todd he took a notion For to sail the ocean wide But he left his true love behind him Weeping by the Liverpool tide" (other versions are available).Love this!
Everton should put the lyrics to Johnny Todd on the screen so the crowd can sing along. I remember singing it as a boy growing up in Everton in the sixties.
@@trevorhart545 I knew that Trevor although I have never been it. I was born at home in Kirkby in the 50s in Henlow Avenue then brought up in Everton which was a great place to grow up in. Up the Toffees.
@@tonyceltic8009 I never thought of it like that. But Kirkby only opened to its first occupants in Oct 1954 and I was born the following June. My mum wanted to move back to where and my dad's family were living. But as a kid Everton was a great place to live. At least 3 local parks and we could walk to the city centre. They were great days.
Good musicians ,tuneful and enjoyable. The Z cars tune appears to be split in a similar way to certain old renaissance tunes. One section, then another .

The "Johnny Todd" i.e. the theme tune to "Z Cars" was also the name of a very large Pub on the outskirts of Kirby. Is it still there?

@@anthonyscott4270 that's a strange one it was normally moving from the Everton slum clearance to Kirkby. you done it the other way around.
