  • In September 2020, The King's Academy had the privilege of hosting former LAPD cold crime detective and atheist-turned-apologist J. Warner Wallace, founder of Cold-Case Christianity, at its RUSH spiritual empahsis week. Det. Wallace spoke to King's middle and high school students about his faith journey, the authenticity of the New Testament, and evidential support for Christianity and one of its central claims, the resurrection.

Per J Warner Wallaces criticisms of Bart Ehrman's skeptical critique of Paul; I think Ehrman projects his many psychological insecurities, deficiencies and craving for power onto the New Testament writers - especially Paul; i.e. Ehrman accuses Paul of lying and fabricating stories because he postulates Paul was power hungry and wanted attention. Oh the irony - me thinks this is exactly why Bart Ehrman does what he does. WOW...

And futhermore to my other comment on here, if all of that sounds complicated, you could simply postulate, are you a life bringer?! Because that is what God wants, things that bring and preserve life! In a joyful abundance. And that keep things like for example your soul unsullied, and so you have the potential to be saved for an eternity. You have avoided the darknesses, and all the lies, false agendas, duplicities from the enemy, and have preserved yourself for an eternal life! So, are you a life bringer, and preserver?! Simples.

Warner's first example with the murder is woefully inadequate - murders happen every day and there is nothing _miraculous_ about them.
If, however. in a court of law, an accused murderer's defence counsel moved for dismissal based on the *resurrection of the victim,* NOTHING short of having the victim appear in court alive would be admissible.
    NOTHING.
Some claims are just too extraordinary for Warner's approach, unfortunately.

But it is irrelevant - we have no eyewitness accounts of Jesus supposed resurrection; everything in the Bible is "he, she, or they saw...", and in legal parlance, that is hearsay.
And that is NOT admissible in court.

An informed step, of faith ?! Mmm. I'd see it more as a realisation, with enormous consequences, that effect our actions and all of our behaviour. More like a step back, from sin!, or the potential to sin. And realising the importance of correct actions, etc, that please God. And how you relate to yourself in the light of Christ, and also to that complex of the world around you and the relationships to the people in your sphere of influence. And many might see the historical evidence and agree with the argument for Jesus, pronounced Yeshua for being the manifest son of God with the important message from God. But there may be time before they are accepted by God, and are then born again, out of this world, and all the corruptions within it. When God is pleased with you he accepts you. Becoming convinced, that "Christ" is important, needs to be proved, internally and by our actions. So, it's about learning, which is what "disciple" means, in order to become a christian, when you are accepted by the Lord God, and are now adopted as fellow sons and daughters in Christ. And that learning, is something that the good Lord provides, affecting the soul, emotions, everything. It's not just about mentally assenting to recited liturgy. Nor thinking, that just because you go to a "church", you will be saved, oh no. For, God does hold every action to account, looks at the heart, and judges us. And not all will be saved. How forgiving, loving, are we?! Are we servant hearted, and led by the spirit of God, in all things ?! It might take a lot, in fact a great deal, to become that somebody who is accepted by God.

@Lexi Wilcox Definition of APOSTLES per Blue letter bible "apostolos" a delegate; specially, an ambassador of the Gospel; officially a commissioner of Christ ("apostle") (with miraculous powers): a delegate, messenger, one sent forth with orders
specifically applied to the twelve apostles of Christ
From the Dictionary: Ambassador - an official envoy
especially : a diplomatic agent of the highest rank accredited to a foreign government or sovereign as the resident representative of his or her own government or sovereign or appointed for a special and often temporary diplomatic assignment
An Apostle is a Legal Representitive of the Govt of Jesus Christ and they were chosen by Jesus Himself. The lying churches have watered down the defintion to say..ONE SENT. That is true but its only a Half Truth. One sent BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN CHOSEN SPECIFICALLY TO REPRESENT THE KINGDOM OF jESUS cHRIST. To Forgive sins , heal the sick, do miracles.
Paul is a con from the tribe of benjamin. "a wolf" A wolf in 'sheep's clothing. One who came from the desert saying Here is Christ (dont believe him)
You don't even know who the 10 tribes of Israel are or where they are in the world today. THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO THEY ARE. You probably don't even know who the 'synogogue of satan' are that REVELATIONS warns us about.
I was where you are many many years ago. You won't find truth in Main Stream Christianity.
John 20:21 as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. 22And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: 23Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.
Matthew 28:16 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:

Paul was an apostle because of his Damascus road experience where he saw the ressurrected Christ. One of the requirements of apostleship was to have seen Jesus--Paul's Damascus road experience qualified as that. Additionally, Peter referred to Paul's writings as Scripture in 2 Peter 3:16. He wrote almost half of the New Testament, had the blessing of Peter and James (the heads of the early church) and had an apostle's death. Read the bible and study church history, this is not at all controversial, and your position is heretical. Repent and believe the gospel that your sins may be forgiven and you might be restored to a relationship with God through Jesus Christ's atoning death. His blood was shed so that you might be saved by believing in him!

@@js5584 PETER clearly states in acts 15:7 that it is by HIS MOUTH that the gentiles shall hear the gospel and believe.
Acts 15:7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe
Also in acts 9 Saul said he HEARD A VOICE. but I guess later Saul tells a different story about seeing Jesus.
Paul /saul IS THE RAVENOUS WOLF of the tribe of Benjamin to 'harm the LOST SHEEP" as Jacob/Israel prophecied over his son Benjamin.
And if Saul claims to have seen Jesus in his GLORY OF LIGHT the bible warns that SATAN comes as 'AN ANGEL OF LIGHT"
When jesus appeared to his disciples he his presences wasnt blinding them. Even Jesus had a Devil among his Apostles and no one understood it until after Jesus was betrayed.
I guess we will have to see in the end if Saul was a Deceiver or a Betrayer. All the churches care more about Pauls writings then Jesus Sayings and our fathers Laws.

What's The Average IQ of a Religious Person?
Furthermore, IQ scores were significantly lower (ps < 0.001) for Christian/Catholic Participants (EMM = 96.7) Thats (EMM = 1.3) lower then the average person at (EMM = 98)... Compared to both Atheist (EMM = 104.9) and Agnostic participants (EMM = 107.5).
Studies have found that, on average, belief in God is associated with lower scores on IQ tests. Scientists Ran a Meta-Analysis of 63 Studies in 2017 and Found That Religious People Tend to be Less Intelligent Than Nonreligious People. The Association was Stronger Among College Students and the General Public than for Those Younger than College Age, they Found.
Past Research has Included Religious Belief Within the Larger Construct of Paranormal Belief, and Demonstrated a Correlation Between High Levels of Paranormal Belief and Poor Critical Thinking Skills.
Put Simply, Religious Individuals are Less Likely to Engage Logical Processes and be Less Efficient at Detecting Reasoning Conflicts; Therefore, They are More Likely to Take Intuitive Answers at Face Value and This Impairs Performance on Intelligence Tests.
The Negative Effects of Religion on Society: Religion is Filling People with Fear... Religion is One of the Main Reasons Why People are Afraid of Living... Religion is Turning People Against Themselves... Religion is Turning People Against Each Other... Religion is Keeping People in Ignorance... Religion Gets People to Waste Time and Money. (On the average of 2-3 or More Years of Their Lives )
You Could Use That Time and Money To Achieve More in Life Then Religion Could Ever Give You.
Sorry If You Can't Understand This... It's Not My Problem...

JWW does not show that the gospels are reliable about (say) the resurrection appearance stories. He only talks, with regard to motive, about the disciples' sincere beliefs. He does not even raise the possibility that they were sincerely mistaken. They could have all been sincere, just sincerely wrong abut the resurrection. And these mistaken accounts would have as early as you like. So his whole case falls to the ground.

@@travelsouthafrica5048 I’m probably the wrong person to ask that question. I was a committed Christian for over 40 years but finally realized that it was all false. I know the arguments, I know what the Bible says because I studied it for decades.
When I honestly listened to the assertions of well thought out arguments against Christianity, I began asking tougher questions of Christian thought and belief. The answers that came back were extremely weak. I was no longer convinced that Christianity was true. More than that, I eventually saw that the very idea of the existence of a god wasn’t true.
After asking the hard questions, I asked simpler and simpler questions of Christianity and the answers began sounding more and more absurd, non-sensical, and desperate. Christian belief died the death of a thousand qualifications by having so many excuses and pat answers that in the end just don’t hold up.
So, I was convinced that Christianity was false. Not that happiness and peace is an indicator of truth at all, I can say that my mind is finally at peace everyday, and I love others more easily. Now I find that I experience life as a treasure. That has been my experience.
