Very good video for sharpening critical thinking skills. Ive always considered myself very smart and in my advanced age I can now consider myself very wise, but I definitely learned something from this video.

Wow... This insight requires a great deal of critical thinking.
The part that strikes me the most, aside from the definition of truth, is about tolerance. When people around me talk about tolerance, they mean that both your and my view are true according to our respective point of view, so let's get along.
But to believe that both viewpoints are true is nonsensical. As James said, it's either both of us are wrong or one of us is. We can't be both correct at the same time.
Whenever I disagree with my peers, especially about God and/or religion, they will call me intolerant. Or they will throw "Oh, that's just your view of truth" et cetera.
Haha... It's quite tricky to share the good news of the Gospel, isn't it?

Thank you, J. Warner Wallace! Thank God for people like you! Also, fun fact, since you mentioned Billy Graham a few times, the reason why me and my family are Christians and saved is because of this man! I live in an asian country, and not everybody then was a Christian(now there are more), and Billy Graham helped my grandfather accept Christ when he was a teenager, despite HEAVY objections from his devout Taoist family. Then my mom was subsequently a Christian, who then converted my Dad who was a Taoist when they were teens who then converted my grandfather(other one😅) before he passed away, do thank God he was saved! Now, we are slowly trying to convert my grandmother(father's). Thank God she is very open to Christianity now, despite being someone who disliked Christianity, being a Taoist, before my grandfather converted. So thanks to men who spread the truth of the gospel of Jesus, me and my family have been saved! Thank God!

On top of the proof of God videos you made, I have been learning something about the prophecies mainly from Doug Batchelor, curious if you went down that route yourself, as an ex-atheist, that and age of scrolls helped me believe in the authority and authenticity of scriptures.
I did examine the prophecies a bit but I had my hesitations. I am writing about them in the next book...

Brother, I think we all pray for unbelievers to become saved and know our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! But Mr. J. Warner Wallace has many talents, but has openly stated that he won't debate as that is not his god given talent. Let us just pray for Dr. Bart Ehrman and others! God bless!

When I was in college, I also had a moment where I seriously contemplated being an atheist, but I actually feared becoming atheist because I feared that if I became atheist I would lose myself because Jesus was at the very core of who I was (am), and atheism just never made sense to me.

There's another detrimental impact of the subtle classification of biblical truths as subjective claims within Christians. And that is that if a person view it as subjective (and thus lower it's impact and foundation), these people would not only be apthaetic as Lawrence mentioned, but they would also be less likely to investigate and think on it. Subjective claims is based on preferences and feelings, and when the bible is treated as such, there is no need to investigate it further.
Only Christians who put Jesus's commands not only as objective truth but also as the prime foundation of life and living, and when all aspects of life builds on this foundation of biblical truth, not only will we test everything by the scriptures (like the Berean) with an eagerness but we keep His commandments in subssive obedience like a servant and we honor our God with reverence and awe. Christians ought to desire God's Word like David, be eager to worship God as David, vigilant and diligent as Paul, submissive and serving, and loving like Christ. Let us ask God for wisdom for He gives generously without find fault and hold on to that wisdom given by God with fear and trembling. He chose to reveal Him selves through the scriptures so thy we not only are saved but we turn back away from our old, sinful, misguided was into the wide gate. But we repent, and change our actions to reflect the walk of Jesus as we go to the narrow path.
There are several things I know to be true that can't be tested by science - the spiritual realm being one. Actually, I bet it could be tested by science, but "science" refuses to take it seriously.
They take it seriously but see it as a threat
For me I am sure there is a spiritual realm. The many "ghost" stories, testimonies of people who had encountered "ghosts", the unexplainable "power" of spirit mediums I seen before, poltergeist, etc all these shows there is a spiritual world around us invisible to our eyes. Our world is not just a material world make of matter.

The Bible makes it clear that as fallen humans we can only receive the truth in our hearts if God grants faith. Some will be hardened to the gospel while some will believe.
What if one thinks the claim that Jesus Christ is the only way to God is objectively true but they have a deep struggle with the problem of pain? What if they believe but also say to God "help thou mine unbeleif? Is it a shame on them for not sharing the gospel all the time? Very serious question I am struggling with. An answer would be appreciated.

To be honest, the Bible never said that you wouldn't feel pain. Christians will be persecuted and face tribulations. What he promised us is eternal life and enjoyment with him! God loves you! I have also faced pain, we all have. However, we still glorify God despite this. By the way, you should feel absolutely no condemnation for not always sharing the gospel, especially when inappropriate. The Bible has made this clear! Im not sure if this will help. But you can do research on the problem of evil, which has been around for millennia. God bless and I pray that He will answer your questions!
"White is the best color for cars" can be objective as well. I.e. if white cars get in the least accidents because of the visibility factor, they are objectively better in regards to safety.
Ok. How about, "White is the best color for cars with regards to safety due to the visibility factor as proven by experiments using scientific standards." would be an objective statement.
Just, "White is the best color for cars." is still subjective by itself without any further qualification as to what has been objectively proven to be "best" about it.
So, "best," can EITHER be a subjective opinion, or an objective fact given further qualifications that prove some superiority. IMO. Thank you.
These young people enter believing many things and leave college without the belief. Btw. assuming that they are Christians is where the survey breaks down.
One problem for objective moral truths is, where do these objects exist?

Our entire legal system is based on objective morality. You couldn't judge anyone if right and wrong depend on the criminal's own morality.
How do we explain different laws in different countries? If one is objectively right and one objectively wrong, surely this can only be judged on the basis that the Bible is the objective standard of morality and not on anything else?
@@markgadsby5568 there are different laws because ultimately people are corruptible and fallen. We inherently know there is an objective moral good and moral evil, but without an active relationship with the Father, we are susceptible to confusion and ultimately corruption: misunderstanding of the objective moral law. I’ve heard it better this way: a person does harm to another person because of an error in judgement, meaning they misinterpret the other person as less than human and therefore are allowed to treat them as such. That’s what people who do horrific atrocities do, the act of dehumanizing. When they realize the person is a human with intrinsic divine value, then they realize the moral law applies to that person as well and they treat them with more dignity as a person. We have different laws because, in different ways, we fail to meet the standard of Good and misinterpret it out of confusion, sometimes purposefully for our own benefit (which is evil). Ultimately when we recognize the other person as being highly valued children of God, we treat them that way.
@@markgadsby5568 Good question. It's been said, and I think it's true, that politics is downstream from culture and culture is downstream from religion. So different laws in different countries would be owing to the different religions that are followed in those countries. If all countries followed a single religion, I suspect their laws would match up fairly closely and more than what we see today with many religions holding sway in different places around the world.

Actually opinions are just as objective. "I like vanilla icecream" is a claim about yourself, not about icecream. "Hyundai cars are the best" can be specified, either with "in my opinion" or in some respect "second hand prices" that is verifiable.
Oh! That's very interesting and is a very good way to think about it! But it doesn't change anything objectively. So it does describe you objectively, the same way others' opinion on your opinion doesn't change your opinion. God bless!

I agree, and when you look at what is happening in many churches, you see an effort to keep the church in church through either entertainment or "programs". They do not satisfy the heart that is seeking God, or a richer relationship with Him. Nor do they teach that persecution, pain, afflictions from spiritual realm, etc are all part of the Christian experience. Then, when people who are seeking a closer walk with God experience these things, they are left to deal with them through feelings, alone, and not spiritual Truth and understanding.
